I just love you guys! You’re transporting me back to my younger self, road tripping all over Japan-not in an RV-but in a small tour bus, with 20 family members, with my Ojisan (uncle) behind the wheel.
Dave, I’m so impressed with your driving skills, because those narrow roads are no joke, AND to have to drive on the opposite side?!? Tanya, aren’t those rest stops amazing? I love how they sell gifts and food items that are privy to the area.
Mitsuru san and Natsumi san seem like super nice people. What a great way to travel Japan and learn about the culture. Tanya, your pronunciation of Japanese names and words is truly SPOT ON! I still can’t get over your ability to slurp noodles-I can’t, AND, I grew up with my mom and her warning(s) to us kids, about ‘choking on mochi,’ so much so, that as an adult, who makes the traditional mochi soup (ozoni), on New Years’ Day, every single year, I find myself warning my own family to ‘take small bites, chew well, don’t choke,’ yadda yadda yadda. 😂
I cannot wait for more adventures!! Thank youuuuuu! ❤❤

Wondering if when you were North, you saw a town called Misawa? I was stationed there when I was in the Airforce. That was the mid 80's. It's bringing back a lot of memories from when i was there. Keep up the good work.

Watching you two drive around Japan in an RV reminds me of driving around the island of Oahu. Wow! The roads are SO narrow, compared to the mainland - which is understandable, given there is only so much space for roads...and of course, some of the roads may have been built before the times of modern-sized vehicles. 😮 Thanks for sharing your adventures with all of us!

@@LetsTurnItUpWorld The RV is nice but the only thing I could not deal with is the fact it has no shower or toilet. Being diabetic that's a huge necessity for me. I think a good idea for show is after returning from a trip, you should do a cooking show featuring one of your favorite dishes you had a pleasure of eating while you were in Japan .
Folks who enjoy cooking simple and flavored dishes for family and friends from all over the world and would find it very interesting. You gotta wonder a family in Japan, what does the average family in Japan eat ? Not every family can afford to eat at a restaurant. As far as the RV goes what was the fuel cost and was it economical?

You'll also notice that the Japanese diet is very low carbohydrate and low cholesterol. High sodium though. I was Macrobiotic for quite a while. I had a session with Mishio Kushi a student of Georges Oshawa fyi. Also fatty fish is keto which means it'll fill you up but you'll probably lose weight and gain muscle. It's also low sugar except for city junk food. ❤

@@areldia225 oddly enough noodles are not as carb intensive as Western style bread. it is easier to eat less also. noodles are inversely associated with weight gain and BMI. and NOODLES are not American recipe spaghetti in Japan nor are they egg noodles. They are made with other recipes and like I said they are better for you than bread carbs. You do not have to believe unless you want the benefit. if you overeat, YEAH you will get a belly. so do not overeat!! Also, let me know what far Eastern country is know for its fat people!!! When I watch your channel I get hungry for Ramen noodles. LOL An RV with no bathroom ??? That wouldn't work for me. This RV is not my favorite. Where are the cats ??

Can you please place your microphone in another spot where it won't be hit with your hair or anything else? Those crackles take away from what you are saying. I'm enjoying your Japan trip. I have a few more to watch.

You use your chopsticks like a champ, I love the Haiku, but your greeting is a little incorrect. The Japanese bow is from the waist or just an inclination of the head but you don't use your hands in a prayer position. That is called a pronam and it's used in Indian Hinduism. So it's not used in Japan. K? Just incline your head downward towards a new friend from Japan but SIC DON'T use your hands. I ❤ U

@@LetsTurnItUpWorld 💋❤ it was not criticism just a comment. by the way, if you look up Michio Kushi and Georges Oshawa whom I mentioned in another comment (i wasn't just dropping names), you will discover how the Japanese survived Nagasaki and Hiroshima ---- their anti-radiation diet that worked and still does (Macrobiotics, etc.) such as the recent leaking nukes from one of the Tsunami. Really fascinating to know about ---- it is a very anti-carcinogenic diet as well ---- cures cancer and cleans out radiation too
