20:39 not a SpaceX fanboy here, I‘m interested in Spaceflight in general. You are fundamentally wrong. Falcon9 and Dragon are currently the only fully operational System to deliver Humans to Space the US has. Boeing is the company who received double the money SpaceX did and so far hasn‘t been able deliver. Falcon 9 has had over 300 successful launches, no rocket ever delivered so many flawless launches. The blowing up rocket is Starship, which is actually supposed to blow up. It tests technologies on the far edge of what is physically possible.
Hi, just a little bit of fact checking. Musk is a terrible person, but Boeing absolutely gets money ahead of time, and gets to do experiments with people on board. I really hate to see incorrect arguments be deployed against awful people, it detracts from the legitimately bad things the person does Just generally, ragging on SpaceX is just, not sensible? It’s fine. It seems run by a team of competent managers and are doing like, world class work. I doubt Elon has much to do with that nowadays, but a much better target is all of his legitimately unsuccessful and batshit insane companies, not the success he lucked into
There are a couple of multi hour site tours/interviews with Musk at the SpaceX facility over on the channel 'Everyday Astronaut'. He isn't exactly a fountain of charisma in those interviews, but he is at least engaged, reasonably knowledgeable on the subject matter and remarkably open. Even hating the guy's social and political behaviour, I still find those interviews fascinating. A pity he can't be that guy all the time.
My guess is Erin was trying to refer to Starship and Elon's constant references to SpaceX Mars missions to dazzle us in the 2020s that didn't happen and were never on track to occur. She probably forgot the name "Starship" and lost the train of thought trying to remember that vehicle name. Erin's primarily a political commentator, not a sci commer, so it's not like she and the rest of the Hysteria team are following all the SN tests on their off time. I don't like seeing bad arguments used either, but let's not forget that Elon overrode senior engineer and management recommendations by launching Starship on 4/20 ...without water suppression and a flame trench. You know, the things that absolutely protect a launch pad from obliteration, and so their absence predictably caused the most powerful rocket ever to shit bricks and destroy itself. That was appallingly reckless behavior with no engineering justification.
@@brianfoss571 Ya, me being in the industry does very much cloud how much I expect a reasonable person to know, but simultaneously like, it’s just not accurate and when someone then goes to look into it they will see oh this is just all not really true. Ya starship was a big fuck up there, it reminds of all the Soviet failures where the root cause is basically “we wanted to get it up in time for an anniversary”. Still super excited to see where it goes though.
@@sir_vix oh ya those are wonderful and I *wish* other companies were that open. But it’s also, not any less than I expect out of any reasonably competent CEO that isn’t just focused on the next quarter. Like credit to the guy, I think Elon believes in SpaceX as more than a pure money making venture I just don’t think it is fair to attribute much of its success to him (besides the capitalist reality that he had to provide the funding for it to take off in the first place without having to care about the next quarter) And as a rule I am immediately hostile to anyone who is against unions in their own company. Unions can get corrupt as fuck, and are very much not a universal panacea, but if someone *doesnt* want their employees to be able to bargain fairly, that’s a hell of a red flag. SpaceX does share stuff and has pretty good compensation, but (from friends that worked/work there) one hell of a corporate culture that could probably do with some challenging.
Her own campaign puts "Kamala" on her signs. I would suppose she is ok with it, it makes her more approachable which is a good thing right now I think. I know you think it`s disrespect because she is a woman, but that doesn`t check out if she markets herself like that.
I love PSA, but one thing I feel needs a correction is regarding SpaceX rockets. They've had 1 private launch of a Dragon manned capsule on a Falcon 9 and there is another planned. The Starship rockets that have exploded have all been prototypes using an iterative design process. Basically design, launch, and redesign based off what breaks. The last Starship test flight resulted in intact splashdown landings for both the booster and upper stage, though the latter had damage from reentry. NASA has given SpaceX about $4 billion for Starship development which is less than 1/6th of what they've thrown at the SLS program which won't be reusable like Starship. SpaceX has problems (like safety) which definitely need addressed, but I think overall they're doing good work in spite of meddling from Elmo.
@@MultiRampart correction for your correction. They have had 13 crewed dragon 2 launches, not including the crewed demonstration launch. And four of those were privately funded flights; the rest were NASA flights.
You are missing the fact that Dragon has had heaps of successful flights transporting crew to the ISS under contract to NASA. Boeing can't get out of the starting gate on that same contract (for which they were awarded significantly more money). Then there is all the unmanned cargo flights as well for dragon.

Contrasting Trump’s reaction to Musk’s embarrassing and ridiculous technical difficulties with his reaction to the “technical difficulties” of the NABJ interview is absolutely fascinating. And quite telling.
If we are going to aid and amplify a method of defamation against an individual, mostly for financial gain, then the flip side would be to strengthen the ability to reduce that financial gain by lessening the barriers to prosecute defamation lawsuits.
Elon knows that if he opposes Trump and Trump wins, he gets no government contracts. Whereas if he opposes Kamala, she’s not going to block government contracts out of personal spite. This calculation is what bends a lot of powerful people to Trump’s side: it’s a calculation and the benefits of supporting Trump outweigh the risks. Of course, Musk also thinks of himself as “red pilled”, so his own personal politics probably aligns a lot with MAGAism as well.

You guys are doing it wrong. If you want to divide the opposition, the title should be "JD Vance Will Always Choose Tech Billionaires Over Regular Billionaires".
The tinny audio was, I think, just tinny audio. But it does raise the enticing possibility that his teeth will fall out during one of the debates and they’ll just be one of those wind-up chattering chompers from 1989 Batman that the Joker spits out at the end
I've heard Trump is annoyed, even pissed that Barron is taller than he is.
Wouldn`t be surprised about that.
Who told you that? Putin?
@@imperialmotoring3789jealous?
@@carbine090909 I'm 6'4". Trump is only 6'3"! Zelenskyyyy is 5'2"!
Still voting for Trump though.
Hi, just a little bit of fact checking. Musk is a terrible person, but Boeing absolutely gets money ahead of time, and gets to do experiments with people on board. I really hate to see incorrect arguments be deployed against awful people, it detracts from the legitimately bad things the person does
Just generally, ragging on SpaceX is just, not sensible?
Like credit to the guy, I think Elon believes in SpaceX as more than a pure money making venture I just don’t think it is fair to attribute much of its success to him (besides the capitalist reality that he had to provide the funding for it to take off in the first place without having to care about the next quarter)
And as a rule I am immediately hostile to anyone who is against unions in their own company.
@@sir_vix Jekyll/Hyde type, for sure.
Why do we call her Kamala and all male politicians are their last names?
You know why... trust your gut.
@@keishawhatley8739agreed and we can change that with our own language I’m thinking
@Jittery_Owl Yup! Yup!
Her own campaign puts "Kamala" on her signs. I would suppose she is ok with it, it makes her more approachable which is a good thing right now I think.
I know you think it`s disrespect because she is a woman, but that doesn`t check out if she markets herself like that.
@@anthill1510Additionally, most folks still accompany her last name with her title so I don’t think it’s a bad faith thing
When contrasted with the Apollo Program, SpaceX is dangerously negligent.
You might want to look into The Common Sense Skeptic.
SpaceX's orbital fuel transfer scheme is pure vaporware.
2:05 “she didn’t look like Camilla.”
So on top of everything else, Trump has to insult the Queen Consort of Britain.
When Dumpster Don talks about any woman he sounds down right predatory and creepy. It makes my stomach churn. Yuck!!!🤮 🤢 🤮

If people are being put in jail for doing bad things, they shouldn’t get the shield of staying anonymous via the internet and should be de-platformed. So in essence it’s it’s part of law and order, which the GOP should support, right?
Great, great show...Erin and Katie are awesome and very informative. Thanks 🔵🩵💙
We watched trump just dismiss emoluments clause as if it didnt exist. Fought hus tax form release, never divested from his business. We have seen pelosi and others profit from insider information. Why was nothing done to codify fiancial transparency for elected office? Here we are talking about if vance will be honest about his investments. There is no more desire for the lawmakers to enact laws for limiting grift than they have in holding trump accountable in more than words.

Criticize Elon for all the social and political BS...but the criticisms regarding vehicle development at SpaceX are unfounded. They've saved NASA billions of dollars.
I was thinking about that. SpaceX actually very successful made by the likeable Musk, before he turned °180.
SpaceX's orbital fuel transfer scheme is pure vaporware.
Most of what SpaceX has proposed for Artemis is vaporware.

Anyone notice that J.D's venture capital group "Nayra" is Aryan spelled backwards? Look up the Aryan Brotherhood
I'm no fan of his but it is Narya (not Nayra) - A Tolkien reference like some other companies associated with Thiel (Palantir, Mithril)...Ironic bc Tolkien was against most of the things these ppl stand for
The idea of Elon deadnaming X is hilarious
Heedline should be "...will always choose;" Not "will always chose," right?
Some of the trump-voice issue might be that he was leaning forward, trying not to drool...

I said the same thing, it sounds as if his dentures are slipping.
When talking about inflation, we must focus on the income to inflation ratio. Inflation has always existed with capitalism. Only Democrats want to increase the income for working people. Republicans only want to increase the income of the top 1% .
21:00 On the "rockets blowing up" bit, this is unfortunately not an Elon-specific thing. Orbital Sciences Corporation blew up three satellites in the 2000s: Orbview-4 in 2001, the Orbiting Carbon Observatory in 2009, and a bundle of several satellites on a single launch vehicle in 2011.
Erin is so funny and on point, love her!
Regarding the price of food. I have not experienced a rise in prices for items that do not require being fed...all the processing required. Not excluding the impact on workers safety, the environment, on and on.
Another one of Trump's "best and brightest MAGA." Vote Blue, don't get complacent.💙🗳️☑️📣
Two smooth balloons 😂🤣😂
What a fascinating discussion. Really enjoyed it!
JTB’s dentures were not in his mouth.😂
Elon knows that if he opposes Trump and Trump wins, he gets no government contracts. Whereas if he opposes Kamala, she’s not going to block government contracts out of personal spite. This calculation is what bends a lot of powerful people to Trump’s side: it’s a calculation and the benefits of supporting Trump outweigh the risks.
Of course, Musk also thinks of himself as “red pilled”, so his own personal politics probably aligns a lot with MAGAism as well.
I have a friend that lives in Austin and he's been slowly seeing his electric bill go up, he was initially part of the whole data mining group but now cant afford it. The whole grid situation is something the Texans hate but wont do anything about, which is wild to me lol.

Musk didn't steer Trump because he didn't feel it was necessary. From his perspective, there wasn't anything wrong with the things Trump said.
Yo please correct the title to say "choose"
Note for your production staff…fix the heading “will always chose” is not correct.

Perhaps the Roberts Court will choose to reevaluate the Sherman Act, the Federal Trade Commission Act, or the Clayton Act to better accommodate Big Tech. They really need a break, not a break-up. Who would be surprised?
