I'm looking for one, I can afford a brand new truck if I wanted but I need a truck for a backup work truck and local personal vehicle, something i can make a project out of, imo these trucks are classics now.
I just got done doing all my frame repair and cab mount repair for my 98. Getting it painted right now. 308,000 miles and going strong. They sure don't make em like they used to
I just replace the carpet and seats, and paint the all interior plastics on mine, new transmission and rebuilt the motor🤑,i jus need change the front end,i spend my savings but they worth
I would take this truck over a 2015 and up they don’t make them like that anymore don’t get me wrong I love looking at the new trucks(just looking) but dependability, cheap easy to work on. It only makes sense in between 92 in 1999. I would definitely have one if I could find one in good shape.
I had this one's twin brother. Same color and all. Bought it 8-2001, 35,000 miles. Finally traded it in 4-2015. 246.900 miles. The only vehicle I owned in my entire 30's. lol and I got my moneys worth in those 13+ years. Original motor, and never had any issues. Radiator and A/C compressor were the only 2 major components I had to replace twice. Sure do miss those 350 engines.
I’ve got the identical truck. In the same shape as this one and it just turned 105,000 miles. These tricks are virtually extinct. I’m so glad I purchased it as the second owner in 2004.
This is one of my favorite trucks! I also like the 2006 Silverados before they went to the newer body styles and crappy AFM engines. I would buy either one in a heartbeat if you had one in this type of condition.
I have a 1994 Z71 that I purchased original brand new I now have 450,000 miles original engine and transmission I've towed boats, I'm a contractor I've hauled many heavy loads, it is phenomenal the best truck I've ever owned. the five 5.7 is Bulletproof.....
Saw plenty 88-98 Silverados get rod knock, blow transmissions, rear ends, etc. Love the styling though. I'd take that truck and swap in a 6.0 LQ4 and a 4L80 trans. Throw in a 12-bolt for good measure. Bulletproof drive train.
I've owned 7 of these trucks from Scottsdale, 1500 w/t, Cheyenne, and 4 Silverados all from 91 to 98, I absolutely love these trucks my neighbor own one just like this truck it a 97 single cab 6.5 bed GM will never make trucks like these one again. Beautiful truck this one is.
Looks like my 98 Chevy Silverado when I bought it used in 2000 with 32,000 miles on it. I still have the truck it's my daily driver it's only got 130,000 miles because I've been lucky enough to live 5 miles from my job and my hunting and fishing spots are not that far. It doesn't look as clean of corse but it will start up every time you turn the key. I love that truck I even drive it more than the black 2017 Chevy Silverado crew cab Z71 I bought at the beginning of the year.
That's a mint 90s Chevy them 88-98 Chevy's in that shape have went for as high as $15 000 in my area. I would like to own that one it looks like it was in a time capsule from 98.
A friend of mine in Florida has a burgandy one like this, the whole rocker panel under the super cab part is rotted away but it has over 300,000 miles on the original 5.7 vortec, now pretty much everything else has had to be replaced including the rear end but it had a lot of miles before the trans and rear end went, th GMT400 platform is well documented to be pretty rock solid for this era of GM. The only reason ford outsells chevy is fleet sales and cheaper price, its not as if the Ford is not as good its just that GM trucks are more t buy ,even expensive for used ones, you cant get any chevy of this series running and driving for under 2 grand here in North Carolina and if its 4 wheel drive tack on another grand and thats needeing tires and other things like fogged over headlights broken door handles leaking oil cooler lines ect.My Brother has a 96 Suburban with almost half a million miles on it, he says a new suburban like his is 70 grand so he bought a new grill painted it and spent 2200 on the transmission and 1800 on the rear end which wss a posi traction unit, next is the worn out leather seats exceeding the book value of the vehicle but what can you do? you have to drive something and he uses it for his home maintenance bussiness in Heavy traffic Orlando Florida
My 98 Z71 came with 245's. I later ran 265. A 285 will rub without trimming or a body lift. I still have the truck in the back yard waiting a frame off and turbo LS power. Exact truck, same color same basic package.
Gilbert McGillicutty no they won't. I have 285/75r16 Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ P3's on my 1995 Chevy K1500 Z71 with no rubbing, no torsion crank, no lift, no trimming.
Alexander Moffitt My friend had a 94 with 285's and a 2" body lift and they still rubbed. Must have been the wheel offset. I still have the truck dead in the backyard waiting for frame off and turbo LS power.
This truck is awesome very very clean you don't find them like this no more you'll find gold before you find this truck and this conditions I'm pretty sure they're pricey though
I'm a Ford lover. Hate gm with a passion but the Silverado is one of the best trucks on the planet. ( The 350 throttle body injection only) and I would happily own one and drive it with pride.
You forgot to what you are starting with price on your Chevy Z71 98 pickup? It would be nice to idea of around ? Thanks it’s a great truck , I have one of right now! Mine is getting a little bit OLD for Minnesota winter still running great it was a GM motor replaced.
94 chevy. Also no rusted panels anywhere (truck has been up north with salted snowy roads since 94). Surprises me to see most all these trucks are so rusted
we're did you get new factory rims? I own the exact same truck 98 Z71 and im thinking of compley restoring it back to Chevy OEM specs other then dual exhaust.
My uncle just gave me my grandpa’s 1997 Silverado mark 3. It needs a TON of work done to it. It is my first vehicle I’ve ever had. I drove it down from Indiana and when I brought it home, I checked it out, and it has a ton of rust. The engine also has misfire when in idle. The body needs to have the rust removed, especially the driver side door, because it has a huge hole at the bottom of the door. The exhaust also has a leak. It basically needs a complete restoration. Does anyone have any tips on how I can get it back to new for relatively cheap? Oh yeah, the engine also has 216,987 miles on the odometer. The engine has also been rebuilt once
I don’t understand this. Is this being sold as a classic? Otherwise what’s the point of replacing all the parts and trying to make it like new? And how much does it cost? Probably very near the price of a modern new truck
The only thing is I would change out are the rims from the 2000-2006 Silverados and those stupid BF Goodrich tires for the Handcook Dynapro TM 265/75r16 tires (which I find to be the best tires on these GMT400 trucks as they are the only tires I run on my 1997 Suburban).
How do you get the 285/75/16’s to fit without rubbing. I have a 95 Sierra and tire shops tell me 265/75/16’s are as big as I can go. Do you have a lift kit?
This truck is in better condition then my 2017 3month old Silverado 😪. My truck all dirty and lil dents from people that hit it at the stores. 😠............
TheWildGamer-TWG ...same here, it seems my 2015 silverado will scratch with the slightest of ease. My truck even dented from a small bush branch and from brushing up against my plastic garbage can

My favorite generation Silverado.
Devin Morrison 2018 and I too love this truck
not my favorite body style, '78 is my favorite. These are reliable as fuck though and just all around great.
Same with the gmt400
Devin Morrison me too
I'm looking for one, I can afford a brand new truck if I wanted but I need a truck for a backup work truck and local personal vehicle, something i can make a project out of, imo these trucks are classics now.
This gave me lots of motivation to clean my 98 up.

I’d be too scared to drive this truck. It’s so clean that one little dent or scratch would would upset me.
Blake’s 66 Chevy 😅 I have one and I accidentally got a huge scratch and dent on the back. I cried. I really did. But it’s a truck.
ha
Even though its a work truck, its still a pain to see a scratch on such beauties
I would take this truck over a 2015 and up they don’t make them like that anymore don’t get me wrong I love looking at the new trucks(just looking) but dependability, cheap easy to work on. It only makes sense in between 92 in 1999. I would definitely have one if I could find one in good shape.
Like a rock, OH LIKE A ROCK!
I have a black one in the same shape, I'm the 2nd owner, my grandpa bought it new. Just over 100k miles as of October 2017.
Shawn May haha my grandpa has the same exact truck as you
I have a 95 with 122k original miles.
Shawn May same here bro except mine is white and long bed
Wow..you want to sell it?
That's awesome

One of my favorite trucks! We had a Red 96. Unfortunately, it had a decent amount of undercarriage rust, etc, so we sold it. Absolutely miss it!
The Best Truck that You can Own for a Body Lift, the 350 is Best, Most Reliable Engine that Chevy ever Made...
I owned this exact truck. I was the 2nd owner. Even had the 285 BFGs. Traded in on a brand new 2005 cat eye.
This is one of my favorite trucks! I also like the 2006 Silverados before they went to the newer body styles and crappy AFM engines. I would buy either one in a heartbeat if you had one in this type of condition.
The only thing I would change about this truck is I would give it dual exhaust.
The single 3" works good for the factory engine specs.
Taking off the intake resonator box helps it sound better
I’d get the windows tinted, new wheels, dual exhaust, and a 2 in lift
@Aziz Al Roumi uh no
Brandon S facts id just give it a true dual and mitre cut exhaust tip
I love the nostalgia lookin at these vehicles , just makes me feel like a little boy again receiving nothing for Christmas but just always what if .

I have 315/75/16s on my 93 z71, no lift, or anything suspension wise. Doesnt rub at all, only mod I had to do was flatten out the ends of the bumper.
I have a '94 white regular cab 4X4 with 120,000 that looks this good, I'll never sell it, EVER! :)
Got a 98 Cheyenne ext cab. 350 vortec with a 5 speed. My favorite truck by far.

Beautiful truck, lots of detail given to this thing, but after all that work, how you leave a tail pipe looking that way is beyond me.
I'm a Ford lover. Hate gm with a passion but the Silverado is one of the best trucks on the planet. ( The 350 throttle body injection only) and I would happily own one and drive it with pride.

I have a 97 with 74500 miles on it. Looks and drives as nice as a new one. I don't see me getting rid of this any time soon!

I got a 94Z71 was looking for any restoration tips or parts store recommendations. Tryna make the engine a 383.
