Absolutely perfect game. Slingling spells and stupid jokes, exactly as Richard Garfield intended. I love this series, great game play and production, and wonderful hosts.
I was hoping y'all'd've (a real word, trust me) put the decklists in the description, Stephen's deck looks like so much fun! I've also been struggling to cut cards for an Agrus Kos deck that I'm building and seeing where Jeremy went with it would have been helpful. Loved the banter and jokes in this one, great work.
45:19 I have put a "Monster Reborn" from Yu-Gi-Oh in my deck before because I forget to add a Reanimate from my other decks once and when my friend used the deck he was like "What the hell is this??" So there might be not just magic cards in my decks lol
Tell me why I thought I was going crazy trying to look up Jeremy's commander, everyone kept saying Argus. It's Agrus... I was so confused why I couldnt find it on any site... :D
Finally FINALLY you have an own channel. I was never subscribed to starcity games, because there were too many notifications i didn't care about. Also, where's Justin?
Coming back to watching after a long time of not watching (product fatigue paired with lack of downtime etc.) have they or Justin addressed why he never came back? I know why he went on sabbatical but then he sort of just never came back.
So quick question on ruling. The Jaxis Trigger for the commander, read (mountain, tap, Discard a card: Create a token that's a copy of another target creature you control) does this mean that Jeremy Should have had to Pay an additional red and discarded a card for each additional copy from his Commander? Also The tap for the copy, would this have required him to tap his commander, invalidating the multiple copies? This is just for discussion, I have no clue which is why I am posing this question. Does the ability follow stack rules or is it one instance of tap i.e. Tap commander for all copies, or Tap commander 1 Terror of the peaks, cannot tap again ability fizzles?? I am a little lost.
When you copy a spell or ability on the stack, you do not have to pay costs again. As long as Jeremy paid Jaxis' initial ability costs plus the cost of his commander's ability, he does not have to pay the Jaxis ability cost for each copy of that ability on the stack. The stack looks like: Jaxis ability targeting Agrus > Agrus ability. When Agrus' ability resolves, the stack looks like: Jaxis ability targeting Agrus > several Jaxis abilities targeting the rest of Jeremy's creatures (placed on the stack in the order of his choosing, since they all go on the stack the next time he has priority). The copied abilities will resolve first in reverse order, then the original Jaxis ability targeting Agrus will resolve.
Shoutout to Corey for convincing the crew it said snow permanents and not snow lands. They even read the card afterward and he just kept on with the cheaty. Magic is hard.
Am I wrong thinking Jon should have died to the ancient runes? He had The Great Henge, which was his 4th artifact (he could have tapped to gain 2 life i assume and saved himself?)

Please come up with a new way to submit decklists that doesnt involving joining the toxic cesspool that is Twitter. I have a deck i would LOVE to see played that has a commander not seen on this show in 20+ odd seasons.
Yeah he played that Kraken illegally multiple times (it only reduces the cost based on number of snow lands you control, not all snow permanents). Pretty sure he also put the land he tutored off the spirit bear directly into play as well.
Re: Icebreaker Kraken, id just like to weigh in here and say that 3/4 of our lovely hosts looked at the card. I love these guys, but they really blaze past card reading errors a lot a lot. It kind of ruins my interest in episodes where it happens, honestly. EDH and magic in general is all about analyzing board states and I chiefly watch VS regularly to see new (or new to me) cards interacting with synergies and counterplay and it really ruins the immersion to spot a misplay that fundamentally changes the course of the game. I know John got the message about playing Feldon wrong this season, but I'd appreciate a solution for catching these mistakes in real time. Commander VS is, I think, the best commander content on UA-cam, and I feel it's important to tell them that I literally go from fully invested to almost disinterested when there's a play mistake that changes the course of the game. These games go from evenly matched to basically over very quickly, and I feel like I learn nothing from episodes "built on a lie" (which is hopelessly dramatic, but it illustrates my point). Mostly chiming in to balance the scales against the folks saying OH, YOU DON'T EVER MAKE MISTAKES? because I've been watching this show for years and it's been a problem for a while. These people know and play magic as their job, and they have staff on hand to boot. They showcase new cards and demo new mechanics in a live play environment. Is there anything that can be done to minimize these kinds of unforced errors?
thing is, you make these exact same types of mistakes in your 4player games, you just aren't watching them back on video. If you come here to practice analysis and counterplay, wrong channel. It's fun entertainment

And at 1:03:18 Eight damage is dealt to John at 14 life, but he’s put to 8, not 6. The second wave of 6 damage would have killed him.
Gosh, Corey played a card wrong. I'm so surprised....
I want to believe Jeremy read the card that last time and chose not to say anything to let the Kraken benefit him against the Apes.
Wow that Kraken sucks if it’s just snow lands and not permanents! Whoops! Sorry about that everyone! ❤️
you also missed your boreal outrider giving your creatures +1/+1 for using snow lands

Technically, those bananas were cooked by the dragon fire, that should have lifted the allergy :-)
