"Elusive Dreams" is Track 08 from Decca's UK release, "Delilah" - and Track 07 from Parrot's USA release, "Help Yourself" - and Track 06 from the European Decca import album, "One Day Soon" ... all released in 1968.

Written by ‘Curly’ Putnam, who also wrote ‘The Green, Green Grass of Home’, and Billy Sherrill, who co-wrote many of Tammy Wynette’s hits; including: ‘Stand By Your Man.’ He also wrote another one of the all-time greatest country songs, George Jones’s smash hit: ‘He Stopped Loving Her Today.’
Tammy Wynette and David Houston duetted on this song in 1967 and took it to Number 1 on the country charts. In 1975, Charlie Rich took it to Number 3 on the country charts.
Tom sings it just slightly faster than the other two hit versions and, of course, he makes it a pop song, although the mandolin acknowledges its roots.

I love the fact that Tom can sing all genres of music and even change the way they feel. He sang a blues version of kiss in 2016 but never recorded it and I love it.

I also love seeing all the old photos. They bring back so many memories . Some I have seen before others I have never seen. I used to buy all the teen magazines that had Toms picture on them and he was on a lot. I had a closet full of scrapbooks and mementos. I really enjoy listening to the older songs, it has been a very long time. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤
