A long time since I went to Nottingham on the, train. Still very busy though but looks like a draft place on a windy day. Well done, nice video Mr Boogie 🤓

Thank you for featuring my local mainline station on this occasion. A very enjoyable video which I think gave a good and fair picture of the rail activity at and around Nottingham station. Early on you mentioned the passenger overbridge that provides a right of way over the station as well as access to and from the platforms. This was indeed the case at the time you made this film. However, local media are today reporting that from Monday, the platform access to and from the bridge will be denied in an effort by the railway authorities - presumably EMR - to curb alleged fare evasion by people who use the overbridge in order to avoid the ticket barriers at the entrance to the main concourse.
As I am sure you appreciate, though some accessing this site might not, the service to/from Norwich to the E and Liverpool to the W is timetabled to operate as a through service. Generally, two 2-car sets run from Liverpool to Nottingham, at which point the rear set is detached and the front set carries on to Norwich. The opposite happens on the return journey. But , as you demonstrate, this smooth operation does not always happen! For some reason, the bulk of the Class 158 sets that operate this service are still in their old East Midlands Trains livery, despite the fact that the franchise changed hands some years ago. Whenever I use the station, mainly to travel to London, I get the feeling that the place and the services that operate from it, are stuck in a time warp and I think your video captures this quite well. Over the years promises about electrifying the mainline service to London have made and unmade. But, currently, the project , if one exists, seems to be stuck at Market Harborough.

Thank you for your comprehensive comment which adds valuable information to my commentary. Electrification to Wigston is currently in progress. I imagine that the junctions there and the area around Leicester station would need to be rearranged before they could be electrified. With the new fleet being bi-mode the possibility of some electrification further north being done first is a possibility. Discontinuous electrification is an odd concept but if you have suitable rolling stock already it makes some sense.

@@BoogiesTrains the electrification to Wigston is complete. The next section to be electrified is Syston to Trent Junction. As yet unsure when the "Leicester Gap" will be electrified as there is talk of Leicester station being remodelled first so pointless to electrify now only to have to redo it in the near future.
An interesting video though, in which I recognised many of my traincrew colleagues from both Nottingham and Derby, plus various friends among the platform staff.

I quite like the Class 170 Turbostars in EMR livery. East Midlands Railway should introduce the Class 810 IETs from next year. Also does EMR want more Class 170s because I think they have got enough of them to cover the whole of the East Midlands region.

Your timing of the Liverpool train was unfortunately wrong.Trains from Norwich are two car which are then attached to two at Nottingham and four go to Liverpool

The Norwich terminated at Nottingham for some reason. The reporting number was transferred to the four car 158 that had arrived in platform 1 earlier. I guess there was some reason for doing a stock swap mid journey.
