if you're worried about the cost of canvases, you can practice by picking up free wood from the Lowe's discard pile by the wood cutter (and maybe Home Depot but idk if they do it, too). Then you can experiment with cheap paint just to get comfortable. If the paint is too thin, you can actually mix cornstarch with it to make it more opaque.
@@rosefulmadness Most top artists absolutely do use multi media but it isn't something you have to do to create a good piece.. Plenty of artists will stick to one thing it just really depends on the style you're trying to achieve
I feel like when I watch your art, you could stop at any moment and just leave it be, and it’d be just as good. It’s like you are doing 5 paintings in one!! Super impressive :)
I know it's kind of contrary to a lot of advice, and I understand you might be wary of this, but I really recommend getting some cheap paints/pencils and relatively cheap paper (that can at least hold the paints but aren't really light fast). I find that when I was learning painting, I struggled to paint freely because I didn't want to waste paint or paper, and because I was too attached to my art, I wanted to create something beautiful that would last and I could hang on my walls. But that was silly, because I wasn't at a professional level where things looked that beautiful, and not wanting to waste resources meant I was meticulous and frightened of wasting. So I just got giant sheets that could be painted on, super cheap acrylics, and went wild; I painted freely. And yeah, I made a lot of stupid mistakes, but it didn't matter! It wasn't art to show the family, it was a learning process and I could keep my mistakes to myself or throw it away even. It helped me become more confident with brush strokes and with blocking in shapes, trained my muscle memory, within like 3 months I made more progress than I had made in 4 years because I'd been such a stifled perfectionist lol. Every now and then I got out the expensive stuff to have something to keep and get me motivated though lol, I usually threw everything away so it gave me markers of progress. So I recommend trying this, if you have similar issues to me; on the plus side, it's cheap suggestion!
@@emstink sorry about the late reply, i got a bit busy with song, but thats actually really good advice. I've always been scared of wasting stuff. Thanks for your input!

Your art and style is absolutely STUNNING!! I'm not a big 'art collector'-person, but there's not a one of your pieces that I wouldn't hang up on my wall. So amazing!!
I just did my Art Appreciation finals last night so forgive me 😭 but when the future students begin to study art history, this has gotta be the most well documented era of art. I mean. We even get to see the entire process from sketch to completion. Imagine if we were able to say that about Renaissance paintings 😭
Now this is the type of abstract art we want. Not some random lady making millions off some scribbling with a mop and a canvas. Bravo on the excellent work! ❤❤❤
I love it when one’s sincere amazement and excitement and awe in the grandeur of YOUR art (I’m blown away) is echoed to a tee in the comments…like, all of them!! Your art is breathtaking.
Ok artists like you have my complete respect because holy shit 👀💧 I cannot IMAGINE how much trust you have to have in the process for this style of art, and it amazes me every time how awesome it looks when it's finished compared to what it was at the beginning 💕
I love the happiness in your voice, the joy like your smile could burst into laughter at any moment. And your art is amazing and beautiful! Keep on shining ❤
I think I've never seen anyone so creative than now, I've always adored the process of painting. Not necessarily with contemporary/ abstract but THIS, this changes EVERYTHING 🫠
You are an amazing artist! You’re so positive and beautiful, it really pulls through, that you make it look so effortless. Thank you for sharing your craft with the world. Stay blessed 💚💚💚
I always think that I can do stuff like this then fail horribly. Your paintings are always so breathtaking and have such a fun and freeing feeling to them.
Leave your piece that you hate aside for a month or so and come back to it. If you still don't like it, change your perspective and maybe make it something else.
@@SirLuckySlimeTo add to your statement, pretty people are easier to draw and/or paint compared to common faces. As a painter myself, I noticed how it can be difficult for us artists to draw ordinary looking people because compared to more appealing people, it's complicated to figure out the definition and angle of the subject you're drawing. I recently sketched my first ever self-portrait, it was a complicated process of knowing if I'm shading the right shadows.
I really enjoy your art, I love the way your colors are cohesive yet a bit scattered as though you just slapped them on there giving the painting such an effortless look. I also LOVE the way your subject has the same colors as your background, yet you can still definitively tell where and what your subject is. I just wanted to go ahead and say that it’s artists like you that make me want to try a little bit harder at achieving my artistic goals.

Try doing it with really cheap stuff, that way, if you mess up you won’t worry too much and you can really just paint over it and start again
I would call this art style "broken art" because of how many different materials and styles are used. Gorgeous!!
hold on, we aren't supposed to use multiple materials and styles?? I thought everyone did that

Why do artists mostly if not onyl paint pretty people?/gen
Because usually artists want to draw art that's pleasing to the eye. If you want a beautiful drawing, it's usually easier to pick a beautiful person.
