  • A previous visit from 2018: • Knoydart 07:07:18
This walk into Barrisdale Bay started from the road end at Kinloch Hourn. The 11km takes approx 2.5-3hrs to get into the bothy/campsite if you are staying the night. We then went on to walk a clockwise loop for Mam Barrisdale for Luinne Bheinn and Meall Buidhe which turned out to be a cracking night.

What a glorious place Knoydart is.
I love the idea of truly remote areas that require a bit of planning and effort to get to. I hope these areas remain this way, as it gives us a glimpse of nature in its unspoiled state.

Great video as usual. No mention of the Barrisdale midges (Mijahideen the real vicious ones) Although the camera showed a few at 9.47mins, think they are still looking for me and my friends. The midges dined on one of our party, while 3 others made a fast escape into the hills on a damp, claggy day, 3 of us found it funny. Keeping off the hills when lightening about, a great lesson to all, to be sensible about safety first.
