- Billi continues to be stable 💗
Her button use is markedly less. She used to press about 100-300 buttons per day (depending on how much time a human spent at home with her on a given day), now a verbose day is about 10 presses. Her appetite is a bit worse, but she’s still eating, and she’s still showing interest in outside, easy play time, and as always: cuddles. We’re focused on making her as comfortable and happy as possible in the time she has left!

Thank you for letting us have some more Billi time. She's come to mean so much to me and I'm sure many others. I'm sitting her typing this through tears because she's the best girl and is so smart, intuitive, and loving and I've loved watching her become an absolutely perfect baby each and every day. Know that the love you give her is propped up by the love of hundreds of thousands of others.

I really can feel for you as my cat is also suffering kidney failure (but ony stage 2 so far) and it's wonderful to see that Billi is doing well with her palliative care regime. It gives me hope.

I love how Billi is still so completely convinced that her spoiled, pampered, indoor princess self could DEFINITELY live outside, how DARE Mom and Dad suggest otherwise!

Well, she certainly could live outside all the time in a warm climate, as long as there was shelter from the rain.
Nah, cats who have been indoor all their lives don't really know how to get food. Sure, they can catch and kill all kinds of birds and rodents, but they're so accustomed to their food being prepared with preservatives and crap they don't always realize they thing their instincts say to kill is in fact food. And Billi especially shouldn't try living outside with her special dietary needs; she would be in too much pain

Yeah, I went through this with my last cat so it’s totally breaking my heart, but I know Kendra & Dad will give her the best of everything- medical care, happiness & love. She’s probably one of the world’s happiest cats, being able to communicate with her humans, & doing amazing stuff like hiking with Kendra, riding on her backpack like a queen.

@dollhousemausoleum I just don't like "pet parent" either. A pet isn't a substitute for a child. I also don't like "own". I usually settle for saying I live with cats. Gotta find a nice medium ground.
This is a great example of how as humans we may have multiple pets in our life ...but each pet only gets one home for their whole life, so you've gotta give them as happy a life as you can.
Be the person our pet thinks we are.

Glad she is still enjoying a relatively good quality of life. Play, sun, outside (including travel tours with her "parent"), cuddles - all the good things. Button use may be down, but you and she still have very good communications (you and Dad probably pick up on Billi's body language so well that the buttons are often superfluous).

Awesome to see her and you all seemingly doing fine, albeit wishing for more time with sweet Billi. As we all wish. She is an angel and not showing its hard (typical cat behavior) My button cat’s favorite word this spring is “help outside” into the catio. We don’t have a screened-in patio, wish we did but my husband & I disagreed over doing that and found a free catio being thrown away in perfectly newish shape only needing new wheels. When it’s cool outside I lift or help him into the catio. When it’s warm enough it’s pushed into the sliding doorway for all of my cats to enjoy. It’s so obviously soothing to be in the fresh air and seeing and hearing birds directly!
Billi is meow-ing more than ever! I'm just happy that she is comfortable and doing OK!

I agree. I'm also very moved that Kendra would take the time to share updates with us. I think she knows how dear Billi is to us all. I couldn't fight the tears and didn't even want to. This hurts but there's also something incredibly beautiful in watching how love accompanies us into/out of this world.💜

For some people pawspice is sad but for Billi it's about what's important in life. Monitoring the neighborhood, spending time with family, and even reviving old hobbies. I bet she was a champion baker in her youth!

I have no idea how I got to the point of loving her so much, but every time I see a video or picture that you post on YT, FB, or Insta, I find myself talking to her like she was with me and not on a computer screen. I can't have a pet where I am, so I guess that's how.
Please let her know how much her fans love her, and I'm still praying for you and Dad through this, because I know how deeply I feel, so I'm sure you're feeling much more than me. 🙏🙏

This is the hardest, yet the most precious time. A beloved family member is declining and you know they'll be leaving you soon, but those last days or weeks are spent helping them and growing even closer. It hurts so much, but the pain is a reflection of how deep and profound your love is for one another. Thank you for sharing Billi's journey with us. (general 'you' of course)

My old lady does the same thing. "No pets! I sit on hand so no pets and no phone." Sometimes biscuits, but usually she pins me down. Glad to see Billi's being Billi.

It's so good to see that besides soaking up the sun outside, Billi is also taking every opportunity to soak up everthing she sees outside -- on the balcony or on the car ride (perhaps that reminds her of all her travels).

My cat, Oreo, somehow gets my inner door open everytime I take my dog outside, even though I pull the door shut behind us. I can hear the door opening as soon as we get outside & when I open the storm door to come in with George, there's Oreo on the doorstep between the doors!

I too noticed a huge uptick in my Cat Tipper (who died of kidney failure) asking to go out..😢
I think it's because they might having a hard time regulating their body temperature and the warm sun helps. My cat also became very interested in outside sunbeams
