Thanks for the support EVERYONE! Tell me what you thought of this "News" video. Was thinking about trying to throw in a "current surgical news" video once a month to keep everyone up to date with things happening in the world of medicine!
Yes do surgical News! Very interesting
I love this segment. Please continue to keep us updated with current news. ♥️
I know Im kinda randomly asking but does anyone know a good site to watch newly released series online?
@Jalen Orion Lately I have been using Flixzone. Just google for it :)
@Rocky Mayson yea, been watching on FlixZone for since march myself =)
Great video Shane! Just an FYI you never need to apologize for the length between videos. We all understand! What you’re doing is so selfless. It’s worth the wait. Keep it up buddy! As always, thanks!
I startes the CST program last week and we are all lucky having you as a mentor in this profession. I will keep everyone posted about my journey.
I’m still surprised doctors and even surgeons miss major things during surgery.
I start CST classes in 9days wish me luck!
Good luck!!
Congratulations! 🎉 all the best!
Hey thanks to you I’ll be starting my cst program in March I’ll be going back to ur vids for students wish me luck!
Just wanted to jump in to tell you how much I love your videos! I'm an IT guy, not a medical guy but I somehow found myself working in a hospital and to my surprise I'm sometimes fixing computer equipment in the OR during cases. I started watching your videos just to learn about what's going on around me while I'm trying to keep out of everyone's way. I'm new to the healthcare environment but If I'd have known about the surgical tech position when I was younger I may have followed a different career path.. Best thing about working in a hospital compared to traditional office IT is that it's so great to work with intelligent science-minded people! Thanks again for all your efforts!
Love the news video. Good to see you putting family ahead of video!
Thanks for posting!!! I look forward to all of your videos!!
Cool stuff. Nice way to start my day.
Awesome video Shane! Thank you so much for continuing to make them, they are such a great resource for new and old techs a like!
I wanted to get your take on something that I have been having a problem visualizing while i'm in clinicals as it is different for every procedure and, while i'm loving my clinicals and have been doing great on my surgeries, still gives me anxiety every time! (I've asked all my preceptors and they have given me tips but a lot of what I heard is that it comes with practice and experience)
After draping and bringing your mayo to the field, how do you efficiently pass off and set up all your cords and tubing so that it doesn't get in anyone's way or become a hindrance during the procedure? I've had a good amount of experience in different cases but still struggle with this aspect. I think about where all the connections are going to and where everyone will be standing before we start but any advice you could provide would be amazing!
Thanks again for everything you do, your videos have been an inspiration to me and I've been watching since before I started school!
I'll be looking for another OR video :) I'd like to see what new tips and tricks you got for us! Thank you
Welcome back!
Wow, did he not see the structures as he was dissecting? Guess not. Thanks for the news / updates. Much love from the UK
I've subscribed two channels for the purpose of my professional improvement. Surg Tech Tips and Nucleus Medicos. Both are really really useful. Thank you.
Do you have any tips for getting evening/night work to support yourself during school? Is Sterile Processing a realistic option for someone with no medical background?
I know at the hospital where I worked, they went down to 1 person around 5PM and thet person stayed until 9PM. They staffed 1 person Sat and Sun 7A-3P.
Oh man who would do that
I don't know why my fellow Floridians are like this :( The worst part is that I'm from WPB, FL.
My boss was telling me that during a kidney transplant, they leave the old kidney still in the body? I find that very weird and feel like that would lead to a major infection and I’ve tried googling it but can’t find much.... she told me about it years ago
Yes its true they leave it in. The old one shrinks so small its barely noticeable and isnt working anyways. Its been a while since ive done one but i think its more dangerous to take out than leave in is the reason.
Gary B yeah that’s what she was saying! She said it’s too much to actually remove it or something. How does that not cause infection or some kind of bad reaction though? I basically picture it rotting inside the body
Florida man is our internal spirit animal and it's dangerous
You look tan. Did you get some sun this weekend? ;P
Doctors are very arrogant.God complex.
