- Prince William and Kate spent time with the Irish Guard 1st battalion for St. Patrick's Day, as per tradition. Guinness in hand, the pair chatted with soldiers in their mess hall.

I love Kate she doesn't mind walking behind her husband, she allows him to be himself and he allows her to be herself...this couple will be a great King and Queen one day, I can't wait...blessing to them and long life the Queen.
Illy O I don’t know if you are aware, but Catherine doesn’t always walk behind her husband. Also, there is no “she doesn’t mind..” On official duties like other royals she does what is expected of her, and like other royals she does her duties well.
They carry tradition well. No shirking. Credit to the RF.

I agree - it depends on where they are and what they're doing.
At formal state events there is a strict order of precedence, on this occasion, a visit to the Irish Guards on St Patrick's Day, they're a husband and wife .
The royal family could not ask for a better representative than the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. William must be very proud of his wife, she always does such a classic elegant job, you can tell that Catherine respects the position that her husband holds

The Royal Family are represented very well by many of its members. Her Majesty must feel proud to know that she is so well supported. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge did a great job. Last year at this time Kate was pregnant, so no Guinness then☺️. Prince Harry also attended a function of the Royal Marines at the Albert Hall in aid of charity. He represented his grandmother and most importantly Prince Phillip extremely well. By the way what do you mean by “classic elegant job?” As opposed to what? Veiled comparisons are poor form. Everyone is doing the best they can, irrespective of whether you like them or not.
MyMagical1 You are correct. We will be seeing a lot more of Kate in the near future. Last year, this time, her appearances were limited by a difficult beginning of pregnancy and a maternity leave. William was by her side a lot as a new father. Harry, with then fiancée Meghan, took in some outings ( KP’s words, not mine) so they could have some if the pressure off. Now, Meghan is on maternity leave. No doubt working from home, but some if the outings Kate and Will will do will be done in a united effort to work together, with Harry, for the good of the monarchy. The interesting thing is THEY know this. It’s the public who needs division and discord to be happy, it seems.
SheepMaySafelyGrazeHere. Some members of the public are so gullible they believe anything the tabloid media feed them. The Monarchy is a well oiled machine. They know exactly what they are doing and who is in charge. They are survivors and have honed those skills extremely well.

Diana was not born into the Royal family and her title was officially Diana, Princess of Wales but the media dubbed her Princess Diana. You keep saying Catherine will be known as Queen consort and yet persistently call Duchess Meghan a Princess Megs. She is not now or ever will be Princess Megs, she is Meghan Duchess of Sussex. When Prince Charles becomes King Camillia will be Queen consort but known as Queen Camilla, as the Queens own mother was called Queen Elizabeth though only a consort. The same will be for Catherine when William becomes King. They are NEVER announced as King and Queen consort but as King and Queen.
I am sure being a British citizen that Beverley would know more about her Royal family than someone that only got interested when Meghan joined.

Secondly William chased Catherine when their relationship broke down, he knew how much he loves his wife back then and 12 years later they are still as strong. 3 children tell you that, and unlike his father William would never do to Catherine what Charles did to his mother, and he would never put his children through that pain either

He had milked that cow for all it was worth and he was ready to move on with someone else. However, his father and grandmother thought Kate would make him a good wife because she had spent all those years with him and understood how the firm worked. William himself said he carried the ring around for more than a week before he gave it to her. I wonder why he did that. My guess is he really didn't want to marry her. I think you are correct when you say he would never do to her what his father did to his mother and that is why he looks sad all the time.

She's not perfect Ellie so she is not ALWAYS dressed correctly. She's made plenty mistakes but she's had years to learn and make less. People tend to forget. The important thing is she tries and most times, she succeeds. But that's what a stylist and a wardrobe's for.

QE II took the throne at age 26 when her father died, and she had little to no training and even less education and exposure to royal life than Prince William has had.

It should happen, charles has married a roman catholic, who CANT be queen of a protestant nation, ruled (in a manner of speaking) by Charles, whose oaths contain *defender of the faith*, its not possible! he should abdicate, grow trees and talk to them, and let these two take it on. (Charles has said he would want to change the title to ''defender of all faiths'' if/when he is crowned, which should please the flying spaghetti monster religion, and all the other crackpot faiths, its just not tenable!)
