    I am happy you were able to get the rubber mount off so easily. On my 2012 Street Glide I didn't have that luck . I had to remove the horn mount from the engines and drill, saw and use a vise to remove the plate.

    Ok I just bought these fans ( only the mighty mites by love Juggs) in chrome at the Delmarva Bike week . Had them professionally installed on the 16th September 2021 rode a little around Delmarva ,came home 3 and a half hours to North Carolina .Bike was filthy ( to me anyway). Decided to give it a wash before the sun went down and guess what the front fan Is now not working 🤔😳 Seriously . So I had to find the vendors e mail ( no phone number) in fact love Jugs gives a good write up but it's hard to get hold of anyone. Bearing in mind I checked out their website and watched your video , and others and they said they had a planned break for two weeks and that was three weeks ago. They don't seem to have a phone number either. Anyway I finally got in touch with the vendor and he apologized and I gave him my address so we'll see. Hey 💩happens but right now a bit disappointed.Just like to add I ain't bitch n just telling my tail of sorrow 🤔😂😎👍🇺🇸

      Most Sportys do not need anywhere near the help running at the optimum temps that Twin Cams and M8's do. In the following video we talk about the optimum temperature for Sportsters, beginning at the 1:10 mark. ua-cam.com/video/rWOdQOtDv6A/v-deo.html If your Sporty is running ET's of hotter than 375 F, and/or oil temps more than 230 F, then it will benefit from cooling it down. How bad is the heat onto ur right leg?

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  3 роки тому +1

      @@hdrider05 Everyone's sensitivity to heat is different. What is bad to one person, another person does not even notice.
      Depends on the bike, the weather, and the riding style also.
      Ideally you get the heat down with a plan, and the fans are part of that plan. The oil and engine should not be over 230 and very few people feel that it too hot for the fans blowing onto the right leg.
      Now, if the fans is all you do, and you have a bike running 270-300, that is going to feel a lot warmer.

    I have an oil relocation kit on by 2010 Fatboy stage 2. I'm installing a Jim's Force fan this week. You think I would need an oil cooler also?

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  Рік тому +1

      The probability is high that you would benefit from an oil cooler. Riding style and conditions can have a large affect on whether one is needed or not. They way to know for sure is to observe your oil temp while riding for at least 1 hour on a warm day at over 50 mph. Check it right then, not after 15 minutes of slower riding to get home or to a "spot". This is easily done with an oil temp dipstick.
      If the oil is over 230 F, then an oil cooler is recommended. If it is 230 F or lower, one is not needed.

      You're correct, that is very subjective, since every bike vibrates differently. Probably the best way to know is that they will vibrate about the same amount that your horn vibrates.
      I have always used the horn mount, not the frame mount. I am on my 5th bike (1 Sporty, 3 Twin Cams, & 1 M8) and have not had a problem. So Jason was SOL...and really pissed but nothing he could do legally so he was forced to stop selling his fans. Anyway I have had a set of Jason's fans for 5 years and they work fine. I have them set up on a thermal switch to start automatically at 185 degrees. I can bypass the thermal switch and have the fans work on the toggle switch also but I leave the thermal switch activated all the time. We do not carry them, we do recommend them, and if you get them at the following link we receive a small referral fee.

      We do carry the Force Flow Fan at the link below. It works almost as well as the Mighty Mite fans and many prefer the look of the FFF better.

    I wired mine up and it keeps popping a fuse? And here's another ass kicker for you the fan is still operational, yes I'm scratched by noggin on that one.

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  2 роки тому

      Popping a fuse is usually an indicator of a short. Since the fans are still running after the fuse pops, then it is some other wire that is likely shorting out. See what the fuse that is popping powers, then trace the wires until you find the short.
      A lot of times when working on a bike, especially in close quarters, wires that are not even part of the work being done can get pinched.

    I like the Idea of this all except one factor.The hot air to me is blowing by the fans from the left side to the right side on your right leg.Fans to me should be at the back of the rear cylinder sucking the air away from the rear cylinder,this will keep or minimize the hot air blowing from the left side. You did not comment on the air flow. Thanks for listening.Willie

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  5 років тому

      When wearing short I can barely feel the air on the right leg. Wearing jeans I do not feel it. Since the overall temp of the engine is lower, the general heat radiated from the engine (which I do feel) is Less because of the lower overall temp. The fan pulling air off the rear cylinder and down has been tried. It will reduce felt heat for the passenger a small amount, but does not work well at reducing overall engine temps. See a full report on Engine Temps and what can be done at this link- www.dkcustomproducts.com/why-how-to-cool-down-the-twin-cam-engine-part-i-dk-cl-tc-dn-1.htm

      We have 3000 square feet of traditional slab building, which is completely utilized, we also have 2 shipping containers that are finished out that we use. This particular video is in Kevin's bike room that he has at his home.

    Harley Davidson has been doing everything in the world to avoid liquid cooling their motorcycles, there is no reason in the world a motorcycle shouldn’t run like a car after all these years up till now in 2021.
    It appears now with the new revolution max engine that day is here and their is no going back.

    So it seems MM is much quieter than FF. But FF is definitely better looking.

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  3 роки тому

      Not sure about that. I think they both are about the same loudness, maybe the FF is a bit quieter than the MM's. The MM's do a little better job at cooling the rear cylinder, not a lot, but a little. I have been using the MM type on my bikes for over 10 years, but am switching over to the FF just because of the looks and they are very effective. Here is a video where you can hear the MM's on my Softail with the engine off - ua-cam.com/video/zmJmpdgBM3A/v-deo.html

      After reading your comment I watched the entire 15:43 video. Every step of the installation is covered. There is nothing more to it than that.
      If you want to wire it in to a switch on your dash...or use a thermal switch, that is not how this was installed. It was installed for controlling the fans with the switch located on the fans, and every single step of the install process is in this video.
