    reid didn't take the easy way out with his mom. she's a paranoid schizophrenic and needs help. it took a lot for him to do that his mom is everything to him

      Yeah, that's what happens when you go into a show with zero context... You can end up putting your foot in your mouth which is one reason why I don't like this type of reacting format to be honest... If he had watched all of the episodes in order up to this episode he would ALREADY know that Spencers mother is a paranoid schizophrenic. 🤷‍♀️

    the previous episode reid and jj (the blonde woman) split up to look for tobias, but he ended up capturing reid while reid was chasing him. jj was looking for him in the barn where a bunch of his dogs attacked her and she had to shoot them down. which is why she was acting like that this episode, she had ptsd from being attacked, and she thought that reid got captured because of her. even though they both had agreed to split up.
    really enjoyed this reaction!!! this is one of the shows i also grew up just watching random episodes of when theyd be on tv. this is a great show for not needing much context!!
    also, reid mom is a paranoid schizophrenic. no child his age shouldve had to take care of her. its not really the easy way out when he cant really take care of her right. his mom later develops dementia as well. i usually just skip around random episodes for this show as well so im not really sure if shes still alive, but i think she is.

    Also really wish criminal minds writers had drawn out Reid’s delaudid addiction. It really was kind of forgotten about. I wish we could have seen MGG play the addiction role for a season or something or have a relapse later on in the series. He had ever right to relapse.

    This is one of those shows where if I'm somewhere with a TV and flipping through channels, I'll stop and watch it. There are only 2 episodes out of all 15 seasons that I skip every time so that's a great average for any show, especially a procedural. I think it's because when the show hits its prime cast (mid season 3 thru season 11) the show mixes in enough about the characters that the viewer feels close to all of them, and because they present the criminals in enough detail that they stay interesting.

      @@lifelikelisa SPOILERS!
      The first episode I skip is the one where the guy got out of the institution and started kidnapping and killing women to eat them. He was trying recipes from a book he made in the institution and tweaking them after he tried them. The ick factor for me is when he served free chilli made with parts of a women to the volunteers who were looking for her. I can deal with cannibalism (hello Hannibal), but the cruelty of what he did to those volunteers just gets to me.
      The second episode is the one with the mentally challenged man who was in love with his sisters-in-law and after kidnapping and killing several girls by mutilating them with acid, he ends up kidnapping his niece because she colored her hair and wore her mom's prom dress so she looked like her. I have two mentally challenged sons and have met many more over the years and I know they have the same emotions as everyone else, but the vileness and viciousness of that guy is extremely upsetting to me.
      There are other episodes that are upsetting, but those two bother me on a personal level.

      @@Kayjee17 Ah! I don’t love those episodes either except that the first episode you mention leads into the Penelope episode which is one of my favorites. The second episode I don’t like either, largely because I think that actor did such a bad job, I can’t see him in anything without thinking about his bad acting here. But I do like that episode because we don’t get to see angry Spencer very often. I don’t like the episode where the guy has a twin he didn’t know about, who also turns out to be psycho.

    I think this is a little out of context so you kinda missed a few things, but the way jj is acting is actually pretty reasonable. Sure the team has bigger problems right now but she’s been traumatized.
    While Reid is always treated as the baby of the group, JJ is merely two years older and in contrast to Reid isn’t trained in the field. So for her to be attacked by and having to shoot these dogs is pretty traumatizing. She’s blaming herself for the kidnapping while it was Reid’s decision to split up.
    I get how this episode could seem this way if you watch it out of context, but I got kinda triggered by your reaction to JJ since I always found the team is treating her kinda poorly this episode. Of course they have bigger things to fry, but even tho she’s here she still went through shit. Just to give an example: it’s like two of your children were in a car accident and (to make it resemble this even more, Reid is the one driving) one ends up in the hospital, the other one‘s just barely injured. That one is blaming themselves for not driving, but the other one had insisted they wanted to drive. Of course as parents (I’m just going with this because Reid, JJ and Garcia are kinda the babies of the group, but u could obviously just say friends) you’re gonna be more worried about the one who’s badly injured. You can’t just ignore the other one though and play into their guilt, that just doesn’t seem right🙈 or am I the only one thinking that? 😅

    • @zwoptf
      @zwoptf Рік тому

      no, let’s say one of your kids was kidnapped and the other one wasn’t, and your other kid is whining about snacks, you would ignore them, jj is the kid whining about snacks while her brothers missing.

    • @LaXja-eh3dt
      @LaXja-eh3dt Рік тому +4

      @@zwoptf nobody is whining about snacks? If you keep it about the kidnapping then the situation would be more like: one of your children wants to explore a creepy barn and decides to split up (while the other doesn’t want to) and gets kidnapped, the other child still goes through something traumatizing but ends up being found… and blames themselves for the other one being kidnapped. Now, as parents, obviously the one being gone will be your priority (and I never said it shouldn’t be), but you can’t just forget the other exists and you definitely shouldn’t play into their guilt, because it’s not their fault.

    • @Kayjee17
      @Kayjee17 2 роки тому +2

      I might be in the minority, but I liked Joe Mantegna better. Gideon always seemed to me to have a "professor-like" relationship with the cast, and Reid was his favorite student. Rossi started out a little rocky, but he evolved into the warm Italian papa by the end of his first year. I can empathize with Mandy Patinkin's stated reason for leaving, because some of the episodes are tough to watch, but since he quit his next TV role after a couple of years it seems more like an excuse to buck his contract than the real reason.

    I’d like to add that this is not an accurate representation of DID. They can’t actually have personalities based on family members or friends, and they can’t actually speak to each other. Not too mention they can’t have personalities based on biblical or famous figures.

      Also DID can't occur in adulthood, it develops in childhood. To deal with trauma a child dissociates to the point of another identity or alter is created.
