  • In this video for vintage doll repair and restoration I show how to take a vintage walking doll with a split down her side and repair her. I not only repair her cracks, but even show how to clean her inside and out but I also repair her arms by restringing them. This doll needed her wig to be repaired but I decided she would do better with a one. So I bought her a vintage one that is new old stock from Dollspart, a Dynel wig. I cleaned her metal and inside of her head so that it would be repaired. This doll restoration would not have been complete without her new wig and lovely checked dress that fits her like a glove. I used several items in this doll restoration to repair her cracks, clean her, and how to restring her. Here are the links to the doll repair and restoration items that I used. You can see more videos that I made for how to repair a vintage doll in the links below.

    That looks like it was a difficult restoration and I am amazed you pulled it off! She certainly had quite a transformation. Evie did really steal the show! I love how she showed up in the photo too. She looks just right. My mom watched your video with me, and when I told her you had a new one out she said, "Watching them makes my worries go away." Thank you for making these and for being such a pleasure to know and watch.

      well this is funny . Sent you a reply last night but checking now it says you never received it. so if you get two it was meant to be. Yes you are right it was a very difficult repair. Evie does steal the show for sure. my dog Greysons claim to fame is loving with all his heart. would you do me a favor, please give you mom a big hug and a kiss from us. we both feel that what she said was about the sweetest thing that anyone has ever said to us. You know that it is because of you and a few others that we are doing this Channel. we love helping everyone with fixing their dolls but we know that we will not be able to do it indefinitely. We are not physically capable for that. while we can we will give it are all. your loving kindness helps to keep us going. Thank you for all of you support! We certainly need it!❤️😘🥰

      @@DIYDollArtist I certainly will! I told my mom how much you appreciated what she said. You are both so kind. Mom said you are both so likeable and enjoyable to watch. She said, "Who wouldn't like watching them?" Thank you so much for making these videos. They have helped me so much. I know they are challenging for you both to make, and we really appreciated you sharing your gifts with us. Are Evie and Greyson sister and brother? They are adorable! What nice helpers you have.

    🙋‍♀️❤️. Shes beautiful! The doll's head stuffing looked like dryer lint! I hope somebody knows who she is.. Her figure could be for a bride doll. But bride doll walker? No. ...
    Oh, your dogs are stars now. Don't be surprised if they want billing and treat breaks!
    BERMUDA TRIANGLE! HAHAHA😅

      thank you ! She was quite a challenge but very worth it! we don’t know who she is but we know that she is all original. The dogs are cuties they got that cute stuff nailed down that’s for sure. with so much time put in the channel and eBay they just want more of our attention and they deserve it. When the time is right they will get tons of attention 😉 Chantae is right the chair I work out of is a very hungry little brat. I’ve lost enough things in it. I’m going to ask my grandson to turn it over and retrieve my things from my chair pack rat!😂🙄

      We will do a video in the future on that subject but it’s going to be awhile because there are quite a few in line ahead of that one. but I will try to tell what you can try and I hope it works for you. we haven’t had many dolls with eye lash problems. but when we do so far this is what we do now. I might find a better way in the future I just haven’t got there yet. At dolls part .com I get a glue called instant grrrip. I have also got eyelashes from them. The eyelashes have a sticky part you peal off the paper after you cut the lashes to fit to stick them on. BUT! the sticky part is way to wide . I cut it almost all off and leave enough to hold the lashes together. you only use a small amount of the glue to glue the lashes on. use something small like a needle to pressure the lashes in place and repeat that as the glue dries. it will dry clear. cut the width of the lashes the same as you have on another doll with similar original lashes. some people take hairs one at a time from small paint brushes and replace one lash at a time. They say the paint brush fibers are thicker . That’s the best I have to offer at this point. If you try on of these methods and you don’t like it just dampen them and they will come off . then you can try again till you get the results you like the best. Hope this helps.🥰

    Eyes would be plastic, not glass.

    • @DIYDollArtist
      @DIYDollArtist  4 місяці тому

      you are absolutely correct. At first glance I thought the were glass. Chantae videos as soon as she can before l get my hands on them to start to restore them🙄. I hadn’t had a chance to look her over better before that video was taken. I just can’t wait to get started and it makes it a little hard on Chantae’s ability to get the videos done. Sorry for the mistake.❤️

    Find out who she is

    • @DIYDollArtist
      @DIYDollArtist  4 місяці тому

      I think we may have found out who she is. Someone suggested that she is a Deluxe Reading doll. I am not familiar with these dolls but the picture that they posted does look like her. So perhaps that is who she is. Either way we are enjoying her, I hope you did as well.🥰
