- How to HOST a website for FREE using AWS? | Static Website Hosting with AWS | Genie Ashwani
Step to host website on AWS
----------------------------------------------
1. Login to AWS console
2. create ec2 machine
3. configure security group(ssh -22 for admin only)(80 - for normal traffic)
4. connect to ec2 machine
5. install httpd webserver in machine(used to run web app)
sudo su
yum update -y
yum install httpd -y
cd /var/www/html
create website
service httpd start
6. access website from browser using ec2 public ip or DNS

But, how to upload whole website on aws which is I already created
Hi, I tried this but used FTP to upload the existing website rather than creating index.html. I was able to upload it, but when moving to html folder, its not moving the index.html or other files, but its moving all other folders. I looked around, they are saying to enable static website hosting, but we never used S3 storage in this EC2 instance process that you explained. could you please help on this, what could have been the issue.

which is used to host a static (only frond end ) website: EC2 instance or S3?
You can use S3 with Aws CloudFront to create a CDN Or else S3 also works

its good for learning purpose, but not recommended for hosting... please mention.. students wont be able to pay hefty bills
That’s why I mentioned it in starting if you work is completed stop the server

accha mey instance create karke less than 720h kam karke usko stoped state kardunga to koi bill nehi ayega na????
Free tier me 750hours free milte hai which is enough for a month if you are running only one instance. Koi bhi other service use karne se pehle check kar lena if it's included in the free tier or not. Aur nominal bill aata hai taxes wala 18Rs, 22Rs. Aisa, which I think you can pay easily.

@@TheEmperorZero heyy buddy can u pls elaborate like 20-25 rupees if we exceed the limit tab ata h ?like do they inform us that we are about to exceed or do they just pass us with the bill?
@@noone-fl1qb Yes, they start giving you alerts when you exhaust 85% of your limit. And you won't exceed your limit if you're only using EC2. This month I got 10 Rs. Bill. Last month I had created another instance for a quick test so I had to pay 18 Rs. You can manage that I think.
i cannot go to su - root privileges anybody know what can be done?
well use sudo then when you login into the root use passwd command to set password for the root user
