@@Trigun_Bebop In general his combos are more demanding than other characters to get good damage, but they're very rewarding in terms of the dmg. Lots of qcb/qcf inputs in neutral, and the requirement of learning a proper kbd. obvi, those last 2 are not truly *difficult* but they add to his overall execution in the neutral and make it a bit more demanding to be consistent than the average character.
@@tytk @tytk oh that's no biggy! Thank you. All I hear is that he's high execution and never really hear why besides taunt jet upper. So that's helpful. Well thanks! Between your video and your response I'm definitely going to be playing him. This video was really well made and helps me understand the why's of everything. Thank you.
It's more than just combos being difficult, lots of characters have difficult execution iin their combos, so that isn't why Bryan is usually labled as the hardest if not one of the hardest characters. @@Trigun_Bebop It comes from Bryans toolset compared to the rest of the cast. For example, DF1 is the button in tekken used to check your opponent. as they are usually your fastest and safest mid, that tend to have followup strings with their own unique answers. Bryan doesnt have that. Bryans DF1 is machine gun blow, which has a built in mixup depending on how many you do/dont do. But also confirmable for HUGE damage. edit: to clarify, huge damage in comparison to like what victor gets off a df1 on hit. or most og the cast for that matter, usually they just get the single hit. unless its a CH. Bryan gets 34 damage and is +1... Bryan doesnt have a generic DF2 like the rest of the cast. most DF2 and their followups, are 15f natural launchers, and usually a characters fastest natural launcher and basic whiff punish... Bryans DF2? Bryans DF2 is more like other characters DF1. So does that mean Bryan doesnt get a mid 15f launcher? Correct. What he DOES get tho is a 14f mid launcher on block(very rare to have and a bonus) in Jet upper. Due to Jet Upper input being F,N,B+2 , even tho it has 14f startup, the fastest it comes out in the neutral will be 16f, in reality closer to 17f. Remember forward being input then released(to get neutral) requires 2f alone, then you need at least 1f of Neutral, and then 1f for b+2. *Every other character just has to hit one button to get a faster launcher* . Bryan has this kinda thing ALL OVER his move list, hopefully you are starting to see why Bryan is considered so difficult to pilot, and it is definitely not just because he has hard combos. tl:dr: he is labled hard to play by Tekkenheads, because he was one of the few characters where tekken fundamentals and universal mechanics/concepts cant be carried over to Bryan 1:1. As you learn Tekken you find characters generally have the same things just with their own kinda of flair on them. This df1 is faster, this one has a CH launch followup, etc. But they are all 13f safe mids with good tracking - NOT BRYAN lel. You can't just *hop on bryan and have fun* just because you know how to play tekken, unless youre an actual bryan player. But you can just kinda hop around the cast if you DO play tekken. Thats why you will see normally someone either plays bryan or doesnt lol
The reason double taunt tracks better is that the move realigns itself every time you input it. Actually in T7 you had to do tripple taunt to ensure that it would always hit reliably, however double taunt would work for most situations.
I haven't played teeken since the gba and early ones. Now I'm jumping into tekken 8 and as well practicing on the psp one. I picked up Bryan aside from Marshall law. I didn't realize he was a very difficult character 😅😅😅 but man is it fun to be on the wild offensive. Thank you for the guide.
I've been maining Bryan since around 2016 and realized I have no idea what I'm doing with this character. This is the first video that went into such detail about frames and poking I actually got out of hard stuck eliminator rank. Somehow improved my poor defense a bit as well.
