On today's show, Joe Molloy and Ian Madigan delve into what influence Jacques Nienaber's defence coaching will have on Ireland and how rugby no longer favours attacking teams.
Rugby coverage on the Indo Sport podcast is in association with Energia.
Madigan is excellent in his analysis, one of the most enjoyable commentators to listen to.
They call him the professor
Incredible analysis from Ian Madigan, excellent explanation of the delicate and subtle changes needed to keep ahead in international rugby.
Joe, another great show, Ian is a class act, very informative and a natural for TV / Podcast
He gives a really good insight to what's going on in Irish rugby, and doesn't try too hard or doesn't need to try too hard as he knows exactly what he is talking about unlike others
Well done to you both
Jesus, Madigan is class, he really has some great insights every week and real chemistry with joe
Madigans inights are superb. great podcast lads.
Molloy and Madigan are giving us some of the best rugby chat you will see anywhere online.
Agreed. Enjoyed the insights.
Rate this show the best Ireland have . Well that’s from an English perspective but really rate Ian madigan. Respect his opinion and he gives great insight. Enjoyed this take on the big game Saturday. 🏴🇮🇪
For me ian marigan is the best Irish pundit. I could see him landing a coaching job. Great analysis
Madigan excellent as always. Also have to give him a shout out for having a proper mic!
Exceptional analysis from Ian Madigan. Really enjoyed listening in . Come on England! 🏴 🇮🇪
Good luck England, c’mon Ireland 👍☘💚🇮🇪
Great insights. Looking forward to Saturday. Have a feeling it will be a long day for us English!
Surprised Ian Madigan didn't thank the lads for coming on.
He'd have been right to say it!
@@JoeBloggz-x2j He has an amazing rugby brain and a deep understanding of the game. One of the best pundits I have seen.
Nice one lad!! Great analysis and Q’s 🙇🏽♂️
Very good analysis 👍
Madigan is a superb analyst yet Jamie Heaslip is the guy I keep seeing on TV 🤷♂️. The world is truly a strange place…
Ian Madigan very knowledgeable on the game very level on his views
Makes sense now why he’s so good on commentary. Explains things clearly and brings up points that others havn’t. I don’t know if it’s a good thing but I can’t not see some of the points about it being easy to turn the ball over or harder to attack😞
great analysis by Mads..
Madigan is very very good!
Great show
Don't hear to many English saying Itoje as Lions captain, just more Irish miss inforamtion. but have to say this is a good enough listen, Madigan is supprisinly balanced 👍
I am hearing it but from Irish pundits
Ian M for President (and UK PM)🤘
I’m English and I’d go with that. As long as he keeps talking Rugby. Definitely irelands best pundit, though I rate Austin healey our best pundit. 🏴🇮🇪
madigans a genius
Does anyone know the game / incident within the frame over his left shoulder, the bottom frame, one team colorized in yellow ....
Digging the robot eyes.
Madigan is very good, lots of granularity in the review, helps me understand. I had him pegged as a himbo. Looks, brains and talent!
Madigan's insight is very engaging, love hearing his previews. I couldn't help flinching when I heard them both say "shedule"! 😅 For such sholarly men you'd think they would've learned how to pronounce it correctly in shooool, but I'm probably just being shitzophrenic 🤷🏻♂️
I thought either pronunciation was correct. And before I corrected you, I checked Chat GPT. And surely enough...
"The pronunciation of "schedule" depends on whether you're using British English or American English:
British English: /ˈʃedʒ.uːl/ or /ˈʃed.juːl/ (SHED-yool or SHED-jool)
American English: /ˈskedʒ.uːl/ (SKED-jool)
Both pronunciations are correct depending on the variety of English you prefer."
Bealham was awful in the Autumn and I'm not sure he has improved all that much since. Hope Nash gets in ahead of Hansen who hasn't played for a few weeks and was only beginning to get back to decent form when he got his ban.
"And it is a skill"
genge will destroy bealham. lots of scrum penalties. only Itoje spoiling our Lineout. we should be hitting 85% success rate. England's Bench looks formidable. sounds like both teams are employing the Blitz. Expect the bench's to decide the match. 17- 13.
Genge can’t scrummage particularly well either. Their bench is big and powerful but not dynamic. I think we need to go towards a Leinster style defence even more so
Remember a couple of years ago when every scrum resulted in Genge winning the penalty, I think that was more a refereeing issue.
@@geoffnelson6756even Nigel Owens said that the referring on the day was poor for scrums
There are 10 prem teams not 8 and also no prem team has more than 4 players in the 23 on saturday so Leinster vs any prem team is not a fair reflection of ireland vs england
Maybe jaquas ninabar should be brought in to ireland set up after the six nations if ireland don't go well
Why? For all the talk of Ireland not going well, they have the best overall 6 nations win/loss record of 68%. They've lost 2 home games in this tournament since 2014. They've the best record of all the teams over the last 10 years winning it 5 times with 2 GS, and were very close to a GS in 2022 and 2024. They have, despite their ups and down, bossed this tournament over the last decade
Curries and Earl to start for Eng
Mads is great.
Ireland can't afford to hide Prendergast whenever England have the ball, they did it against Australia and Leinster do it against tough opposition. Both La Rochelle and Bath exposed his weakness in defence and England have picked a team based on targeting him. Smith is a very physical outhalf and along with Curry will be in Prendergast's face every time he gets the ball, Fin Russel and Bath rattled him and it will be considerably harder on Saturday. Every good performance from Prendergast has come while playing in a dominate Leinster team with arguably the best overall team in club rugby, on the few occasions where Leinster were under pressure in games he has failed to perform. Against La Rochelle they took him off with 20mins to go and the game very much still in the balance,, you don't do that to your star No 10 unless you are worried about how he is doing.
It was always a case of 'when', with Itoje. Now, the English have another second-row Cap'n. A Cap'n who can see out the full 80+. I am more concerned over the English foe this year. However, let them come with their low-swingin "chariot". Aye, let them come to, 'The fields.'

A journey man 10, at best, trying to give out analysis to much better but younger players is so fuckin funny.
Troll, shame on you.
Stick to soccer.
England have a really strong bench , worryingly strong ,
I think englsnd will go hard and fast and take us on at the backdown and keep a very fast tempo with a rush hard D , and with the subs change to go to the lineouts with their back players , its a very strong squad and i trust our camp have seen this and bring our own plan .
Cant wait for the BIG .
6 to start .
COME ON IRELAND
