Only Mike can play with the same saund as Neil. All good, best Rush cover. Please mike keep Neil's genius alive
Man I wish I was there. Literally a dream come true just seeing Portnoy play this.
This is my buddies band, seen them many times. Check them out with their regular drummer, he pulls it off quite well himself
Wow, nicely done all
50 year Rush fan here. You guys killed it. Best Rush cover I've ever heard. Wept for a moment remembering Neal.
That's okay. Music makes me emotional also.
Neil
Amazing.
For 6 and a half minutes I was transported back to 12 year old me in 1976. Thank you.
Right there with you
14 year me in 1976
The good Ol days.
I Was 7 Years Old...What Splendid Memories...
21 year me in 2112 👏
That was the best I have ever heard any cover band play 2112, It was impossible to hold back the tears.
Pretty damn tight. If I had to pick a drummer to play RUSH it would be Portnoy. Great!
Thanks foy your tribute, great job
Amazing performance by all. The drummer is absolutely locked in, love to see it
Ya I wish eh !
Awesome Rush fans forever. YYNOT RUSH
Love seeing my second favorite drummer play my favorite drummer's music!!! Portnoy just rocks. Hats off to this great cover. KEEPING THE LEGACY ALIVE!
Glad they have a female to do Geddys vocals. Like I was not expecting how hard she could sing his part. I was at first content at not having to hear an off key grumbly male voice. I was absolutly blown away by her sinigng and the drums. Glad he's repping Neil, too. shout out to the man above
The bass player's tone is freakin' killing it...
Right? I mean, RIGHT on it. And obviously don't judge a book by it's cover. He looks like he's just some biker dude or something. WRONG! Master musician.
@@johnnyprovo7157 I'm a music nut, and I'm surprised I've never heard of him. That's one of the great things about following great musicians, they lead you to other great musicians.

I loved the Rickenbacker era for Geddy.
They are so, so good. Got to see them in a tiny Connecticut venue in Jan 2024 - very impressive.
She's got some pipes. Can't wait to see you guys live!
Wow. That sounded great!!!
Nice touch that Portnoy had Neil's name on the front of his #1 jersey and his own name on the back. These guys effin NAILED it!
Peartnoy!!!!🤘🏻🤓
@@marcustait79 much better spelling than P*rntoy hahaha
A great way to remember and celebrate Neil Peart's life. Thanks to all the musicians involved at this event.
I only got 7 concerts in. I have watch and learned all I could and still learning. GOD I LOVE THOSE THREE. IM 54, I WAS 12 WHEN DAD BROUGHT THEM HOME. I miss them so much. Thank you so damn much for continuing the GREATEST GROUP OF MEN THAT EVER MADE MUSIC and the ppl they were

I was lucky enough to be there, and I already got my tickets for this years show. Organized by Michael Mosbach, Neil's personal security, riding partner and friend this event features a lot of amazing musicians, all there to raise money for cancer research and celerate Neil's life through his music. There may be a few tickets left if you are lucky.
Where and when?
The instrumentation was great, the mix was good, everyone was unbelievable...but when that vocalist came in, I got chills. She's amazing.
Chills… you’re not the only one. Bloody hell!!!!
WHAT is her name?? Holy shit. She's awesome!
@@progdrummer78 Patty Pershayla
Have to disagree on the mix, bass way too loud
Why am I just discovering this now! They're awesome! No easy feat!❤
Great editing and mix! Also, 2112 with Patty on vocals from the soundboard is awesome!
I was just thinking that I'd have liked to hear it with the bass volume upped 10% and the guitar 20%, maybe more. Seemed a bit tame, and that had nothing to do with how it was being played. Having wished for a bit more aggressive sound before, I gotta say especially the singer made it really come to life.
All in all a really great cover, you could tell already by the first notes.
Like I said before....I listen to this band every week(and so do my neighbours)!
Jam rush on bass with rest of band backing track pretty well daily - sometimes the neighbours do yell at the window, can’t tell of applauding or not so 🤷♂️ 😆
I listen every day my wife thinks I have a mental problem she's probably right but I love rush
@@johnavzaradel1812 hillarious....my wife could hang with yours....she thinks Ive lost it.....need my daily fix f RUSH too
Last night I blasted RUSH and my neighbor called the cops. When the cops showed up...they arrested my neighbor.
@@1969EType howd ya manage to get outta a disturbance of peace?
What?,........WHAT!?!,....Wholly CATS!
That's what i was saying in my head (and a couple times out loud), the whole time i was listening to this!
To say you guys -- and gal -- "nailed it" would be the understatement of the century,...maybe millennium. WELL DONE!,..
...and then some! SO enjoyable. Keep up the good work!
Ged hasn’t sung in that register since the 80’s, great job Patty! Oh, Mike was alright too I guess.
It makes you appreciate just how high Ged was singing back then!
Saw them 3 times when they toured Kings, Hemispheres and PW in the late 70s. Geddy's vocals were unreal back then.
MY GOD! That was fantastic!!!! So...when are you in the Phoenix area next?!?!?!?!? WOW!!!!!
Wow. Absolutely stunned at the Honor paid to Neil-and she CRUSHED it! I gotta admit, I got a little choked up…
When she started singing I started to tear up. Nailed it. Brought me back to my teenage years hearing them play live. Thank you!!
I was surprised to have the same response
It's really good. I would love to see them...
Wow! I just heard of these guys through a blabbermouth article. Incredible musicians!
Fantastic!!!! 🎉❤
The opening was nearly flawless, and I’ve heard the song a million times. Thank You!
The struggle of playing on a kit set up for someone else! Mike still killed it
Man I thought the same thing. I’m a lefty and I couldn’t do it
Fortunately, it probably wasn't too bad for him. That kit had a pretty similar basic layout to the kits he used in DT, and most of his other post-DT prog-rock groups. But if YYNOT's drummer had been using a 1 to 1 imitation of Neil's setup, that probably would have tripped him up a lot more. Neil's layout from 1995 onward was a bit unorthodox.
@@generay6807 That has to be such a pain in the ass for lefty's, especially for gigging players who have to use house kits a lot. I'd imagine learning to play open-handed is a necessity.
@@Beefnhammer Ya. It’s prevented me from doing open mic nights or going up and playing a song or two. Over the years I’ve taught myself to play right handed, but I can only do it on easier songs.
Ah this makes sense. I thought to myself, Mike can do better than this, seemed like too much improv. It’s not his kit or his setup. Damn good job
That was Epic. That singer nailed it too.
Greetings from Montreal , nice work !
Great job!! 👍
This was playing in a background tab and I didn't realize it wasn't a live Rush version for about five minutes when I switched over to see. Fucking amazing.
Well how about that!! We miss you Neil and who best to get to honor you but Mike Portnoy!! So awesome, thank you for posting this.
Wow! Blown away! Billy F’n Alexander
That is the best cover or 2112 I have ever heard live.
I was thinking the same thing. Perfection.
100% agreed!
The guitarist has Alex's phrasing down pat.
That was nothing short of incredible!!! WOW! 👍🏻😎
Awesome.
Mike being exceptionally good on this......
Just fantastic!
Blow the roof off the place !!!!!!!!
Omg. My jaw is on the ground. WOW
Love it
The highest compliment I could pay is it sounds just like the guys. Simply brilliant.
That was awesome. Love Portnoy, love Rush, and now love YYNOT! GREAT job!
Such a fabulous cover. Patty’s voice as always is spot on. Bravo. Brava!!!!
I've heard of YYN before but never watched a video and tbh only clicked on this one because MP was playing, but now I'll be looking for more because this was excellent in every department.
Check out YYNOT's original studio albums, they will not disappoint!
The 2022 album "Light and Shade" is a beginning to end masterpiece. They take many cues from Rush, but by the end of that album - you will realize they are certainly their own band.
Perfect! Thanks!
Ilove Portnoy's shirt, absolute classic.
THE SOUND!!!!! The engineers and crew need to be applauded. This sounds amazing. I can feel the drums and bass fly around me. The guitar is making my ears tingle. Wild
SpecFRIKKINTACular!
WOOOWWWWW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds great. I teared up a little when the singer came in with "we've taken care of everything". it's great to see Rush music and spirit live on after the band is gone.
Splendid...
Being a Rush fan since the 70's this was an excellent cover ... great to see and hear !
Awesome
Wow, just wow. 😎
Haha I’m in the first audience shot! 😂
Approved.
Outstanding... Very well done.. Thank you...
That was absolutely incrinkulent..!!Best cover I've ever heard, been listening to Rush for 50 yrs !! 🤘🤘
It was a great show
Yes. Just yes.
Well, this was freaking awesome! The vocals gave me chills! Especially while focused on the killer sound from the players! Be proud fellas!
OMG! What passion in those vocals. Seriously giving me goosebumps 👊
beyond amazing~~
Fantastic job. ✌️
Absolutely brilliant. Solid Rush tribute with my favourite living drummer. What's not to like !?
Now, that was great.
Nice and Tight Gang ! 😎
Epic.
woh..... Mike !!!! Love is !!!
My favorite drummer sitting in for my favorite song writer. What an incredible performance!
Agree
Timing is off, stiff sounding
@@KCNYChow high can I roll my eyes at this comment
That was excellent. Mike is a good leader. You all sounded tight as F''''k with him on the kit
That was excellent. Mike Portnoy is spot on. This made me tear up.
Miss you NEIL. CANADA ROCKS!!🍁🍁
Wow, I'm impressed as hell.. And Mike is just Mike the 2nd best drummer in the world (Peart #1) Thanks for sharing this ❤️
Patty is the best thing to ever happen to this band. LOVE her voice. Looking forward to a new album of originals with Patty singing.
She looks great in those leggings.

@@supermastaterwhat? Because he/we enjoy the visual vibe she gives? What’s wrong with that? Why not enjoy her looks and voice?
@@rhawk620 Nothing wrong with that, it’s just that of all of things he could’ve mentioned about her, he mentions that her ass looks great in those leggings
I'm from the days of "far-out man" and that was far-out man
Woah 🔥
I know most fans here are happy to see Portnoy on the drums, even I like him.......I give a big shout out to Mike Hetzel, HE is my drum hero. And of course....Billy is my guitar hero, Tim my bass hero and Patty is a star.
Good job 🎵🎶🎸🥁 and like the drummers shirt missyou Neil 🎵🎶🙏
OH, HELL YEA!!
F yea! Love it!
WOW!
Surprisingly good.
Superb! Thank you! I'm sure all three members of Rush would be proud of this cover!
Damn that was awesome! No insult to Mike H. , But Tim, Billy, and Patty, backed by Mike Portnoy on 2112, F'n amazing.
I absolutely loved this show, YYNOT were incredible as were all the special guests. I found myself getting very emotional for all the Rush songs. It was a bit of a bummer at the end the Mike had to split to NYC to meet is daughter, but was awesome that everyone else hung out to sign stuff. This is will be a highlight show for 2023 for sure.
How unbelievably awesome! Incredible performance, and you got to do it with Portnoy. The music sounds flawless, and for me Patty is outstanding on vocals. She can pull off the edge and energy of early Geddy while still bringing her own personality to the stage. Yall are a fantastic band!
Wow! Just wow! So good. And Patty's vocals...simply stellar!
Mike totally nailed it. Almost all the fills were to the album. You guys played great together.
You played with the Portnoy himself, WOW!!!
Fantastic
Singing, playing bass, playing keyboards. Geddys a genius
You folks crush it every time! Brings back some good memories.
I wore out several vinyl albums listening to this album as a kid. I can honestly say that this is the best cover ever, these guys and gal absolutely nailed it!
woouw....almost perfect temples of syrinx...
