What about botters millions of tasks slowing down or crashing websites making it very difficult if not impossible for manual users to even enter in for a shoe?! The more we churn botters out of the sneaker game, the better the sneaker experience will be for the average consumer. What may be seen as “excitement” in the past was frustration for most people just trying to get sneakers to rock.
sounds salty because the bots aint hitting like they used to. About excitement in copping? I feel like you have trouble in understanding that Nike needed to make more pairs because of Botters, now those pairs are sitting also because of botters. People who want the shoe to wear are living in more exciting times NOW, not when bots were killing everything.
I love it when Jordan sits they're much easy to pick up now. I like Raffles I don't need to wake up early and fight the bots. Sneaker culture is much better now than it was a couple years ago.

I think them doing that would maybe do something significan bc I think most resellers are not criminals or hackers so i think if resellers could go to jsil for botting they would stop. Isn't it obvious? I can't believe nobody in the video mentioned the obvious reason why less people are getting excited about sneakers right now. It's because we're literally entering a recession, or are already in the thick of one. Our dollar has been printed to the extent that our money is super inflated. It doesn't matter how hard they try to prop up our financial system, or how hard they try to keep it all under wraps, I think it's getting too difficult for them to avoid the impending financial collapse.
As much as I would like to be optimistic and say it isn't going to happen, the fact remains that it's been a long time coming, and I'm surprised it hasn't already happened.
Also, when you talk about COVID, and the so-called "pandemic", I can't help but to recognize the indoctrination and your flawed understanding of what went down right before your eyes. To pretend as if the "pandemic" was what we were made to believe it was, is to either be disingenuous as our owner, the government was, when pushing that BS narrative down our throats, or maybe you actually believe it, and you're actually just telling it like you've been indoctrinated to believe it all went down.
Let's be real, Nike didn't just make more stock. They increased retail prices at a time when many are struggling through a cost of living crisis. The average consumer is what drives hype and demand not sneakerheads. There simply aren't enough of us. It's the people walking off the street into stores and willing to pay 400 on a pair of mochas.
At the same time sneakerheads that just want a sneaker they want have watched it get increasingly difficult, I don't mind people buying one or two holding or flipping to make money to purchase other pairs they want. It's the FCFS idiots who are just there to flip, it's the botters like you who cop 10/20/30 pairs. All of this has driven people off paying resale and giving in to resellers.

The problem is all these companies are producing more product compared to 2020 and before, but theres also more competition now than in the past. Resell has dipped but people still dont wanna pay that price. Its weird but sneakers are at a weird point. Id bet there will be another fall and rise of production of sneakers in the next 2/3 years causing this sentiment to occur again.

I have spent almost 20k at foot locker and hit every release except when they drop like Travis Scott’s or something. But not all that 20k was my money . I would ask friends and family who wanted a drop and sell them the shoe for retail just to build up points. Most of them wanted bricks which would be a for sure dub to build up points. I’m at 2.5 million points now lol. And now if I ever want a personal footlocker is my go to stress free to purchase.

What do you think about pre-orders? Say if Nike opens up a time limit of 24 hours for each sneaker releases or shorter like 30 mins for hype releases and people can buy as many pairs as they want in that time frame, everyone will be able to cop what they want, Nike makes a lot of money and everyone is happy. Only disadvantage I see is the people complaining about the wait time of a few weeks or months depending on # of orders.

Would kill the hype Nike has built around their brand. A large part of why dunks and Jordan’s are so sought after is because of that exclusivity, take that away and no one will want them.

I would say 95% of sneaker heads just want to resell and make money. The reason why it was exciting was because of the extra money you could make if you had a sneaker. That’s it. If you can make extra money on something that you can get. Of course it’s exciting.

Something to add that you missed is the increase of replicas. I have seen more people rocking them and not caring what others think plus the quality has increased over the years where it is harder to tell the difference. If more people turn to alternative methods to get the shoes they want then less people will want to pay resell, which drives up the hype.

Ive said this a million times - the same people who complain every drop that they just want Nike to make enough pairs for everyones are the first ones to no longer want the shoe if it sits in stock. The entire reason they want it in the first place is because of the scarcity and the perception that you have something others don’t.

what happened was first come first served stopped and now its raffles everywhere and nobody can really get the shoes anymore. first come first served was what made sneaker releases fun having to get up early waiting in line hoping they got you size and pair it just made it more meaningful fasho.
A few factors to also consider for why 2023 releases are boring: No Yeezys, Money tight for most people, and the repetition of releases ( being both repetition of shoe models, and release methods) a lot of people have a mindset they won’t hit anyways so why try which lowered the competition to an extent but certain shoes especially more hyped are even harder to get now
1.) it’s a recession.
2.) Too many Jordan 1s
3.) Competition for Nike is lackluster ( No Yeezys).

Without market value rising on sneakers, it will not be exciting. Before, it felt like you hit the lottery. Nowadays, you only get that on a few sneakers like Travis’s, Dunk SB, and Jordan 4 and those are hard to get because everyone after them.

Market got flooded a niche ( especially here in europe ) became main stream - hype peaked and now its just a dry run. People that want the shoes can easily optain literally any gr release or even some collabs. Market is down
I cannot agree more. When it was fcfs it was pay to win now it’s pay and you might win. It use to be exciting for some now it’s exciting for none. We were able to choose to either purchase a bot or learn to be faster and cop manual, luck was always a factor but now it’s all luck and no fun.
