- The yearly benefit shows for The Angelus in Tampa were always great fun. I happened across these short video clips on my old camera and it brought back memories of the joyful 4-day events, this one in December 2008. The microphone in that old camera wasn't too good, so the audio of the jam was just noise. I married it to some of the live track of "Jessica" (which is the song they were jamming on!) on Tommy Crain's album (Live in Macon) The footage was shot the day after Tommy's bassist, Kerry Creasy, passed away at the event. (The hat Tommy is wearing was Kerry's. He had everyone sign it and auctioned it off and gave the money to Kerry's wife. God bless Tommy Crain!) Tommy Crain and the Crosstown Allstars (Bob Rumer, Towson Engsberg, and Bob Jones were joined by Charlie Hayward on bass (Charlie Daniels Band) and Danny Toler on guitar (Allman Bros/Great Southern). It was a fantastic Saturday afternoon jam. The two short clips at the end are from one of the many late night jam sessions that year, with The Crosstown Allstars backing Charlie Daniels, reuniting him and Tommy Crain.The actual distorted audio is still there on this section .This post is made in loving memory of my dear friends-Charlie Daniels, Tommy Crain, Kerry Creasy and Danny Toler, all gone on to Southern Rock Heaven.

The yearly Angelus benefits in Tampa were magic...Hard to believe Tommy and Danny (and yes, Charlie) are no longer with us....The short end clip is a group of musicians backing Charlie including his long time guitarist Tommy....
