    I travel a lot, and actually the best country for those who are Celiacs it Italy. In our country we have the best worls association called AIC that controls and certifies not only food but also restaurants, hotels, etc. Using their app you can trip in Italy from North to South without problems in total peace of mind. Other European countries, like France, are ridiculous, people who work in restaurants have no specific training, which is mandatory in Italy! A place that gives a good welcome to Celiacs is Brazil. Here in Italy there are no stupid fashions, those who eat gluten-free is because it is celiac, in Italy eating is a serious matter, we don't eat junk like in the USA.

    I have a family member with Celiac disease. I would like to see many more gluten-free options in the supermarkets and the restaurants in the US. In Europe, especially in Italy and Spain, it's much easier to find gluten-free choices.

      Actually, no, it's not. Europe hasn't been so idiotically bewitched by this gluten-free fad as you morons in America. We've been cheefully eating gluten for thousands of years. Less than 1% of people have Celiac's.

      It’s funny to see the reactions of people so addicted to BREAD that the slightest sight of someone eating gluten free gets them in their little wheaty feels 😂 😂

    It’s not trendy but rather a matter of health or illness. NBC is so condescending for even implying that anyone would choose the gluten free diet. So clueless!!!

    I was really worried after my family booked a holiday to Italy due to my diagnosis, but now that fear has gone. I'm looking forward to trying all the gluten free goodies Italy holds for me! :)

    Italy is a coeliac's paradise! I've been there for my annual summer holiday four years in a row. The food is just incomparable with what we get in the UK.

    It isn't a matter of trendy. It's a matter of survival for a lot of us. Really kind of condescending.

    • @RealityIsTheNow
      @RealityIsTheNow 5 років тому +2

      It's a matter of survival for a TINY, let me repeat, *GODDAMN TINY* percentage of the population. For every 100 morons claiming they can't eat a simple natural protein people have been eating for thousands of years, there is _maybe_ 1 who has an actual medical condition that makes it real. Celiac disease is actually quite rare. Less than 1% of the population. Beyond that, you have a bunch of idiots who magically developed some sort of mythical "intolerane" to something they've been eating since they were children as soon as they found out it was trendy.

      Oh, BTW RealityIsTheNow, the next time I am accidentally glutened, are you coming to my house to clean up the diarrhea and vomit? If I am glutened in a public place, are you going to make sure I get home? Because that's what happens: I vomit, get massive diarrhea, and break out in hives.

    • @probitionate

      My mom's gluten-intolerant; she gets hives. I'm gluten-sensitive; I ache like a very, very old man, I walk through a fog, and it exacerbates mental health issues. I really don't care how people view the subject...especially those who clearly have GoldStar memberships in The Asshats Club.

    Assuming that eating gluten free is just a trend is a dangerous attitude to have if you're a chef or restaurant owner.

    Where have you been the past 20yrs? Italy knew about this loooong before it became a "thing" here. The physician Dr. Stefano Guandalini, M.D. that helped the U.S. understand what celiac is and how prevalent it really was came from Italy. This has been know for a very long time.

    • @RealityIsTheNow
      @RealityIsTheNow 5 років тому +1

      How ignorant of history you are. Italy had very little to do with it. Celiac was first described nearly 2,000 years ago by a Greek scientist. He actually coined the term. ("Coeliac" is derived from a Greek word for abdominal.) The disease was studied in a modern sense in the 1800's in both Britain and America. It was actually a Dutch scientist in the 1940's who discovered the link to wheat. 20 year is is NOTHING. And Italy, whatever it's other faults, has not idiotically jumped on this foolish gluten vilifying bandwagon until very recently.

    • @RealityIsTheNow
      @RealityIsTheNow 5 років тому

      You are a fool if you think it has anything to do with companies from any one country. And a DELUSIONAL fool if you don't have Celiac disease, which afflicts less than 1% of the population, and yet magically have "reactions" to a natural plant protein.

      RealityIsTheNow I have a severe allergy which leaves my mouth covered in hives I wouldn't do it if I didn't have to. I discourage people from this fad diet it's for people who need it I'm not foolish. Honestly if you eat this way and don't need to you'll probably get diabetes. or you might get it anyway if you don't regulate the amount of sugar intake which they put in mostly everything gluten-free. and if you reference the video I was making a smart alec remark about how they in Italy send people to jail if their food is contaminated with gluten and says it's not. As a matter of fact if someone is allergic to something and you said it's not in there like peanuts it can kill people. including people with celiacs disease because eating gluten can cause cancer in them..... I don't know what your point was but you was comment seemed too mildly insulting

      RealityIsTheNow also I hope you don't live in the United States my brother's over who's a lawyer and he informed me that that's very against the law. because the knowledge she provides you with says she's allergic or sensitive to it giving it to her is it a crime. Depending on their severity of allergy but it's still illegal no matter what because you're intentionally giving it to her without telling her!!!

    • @RealityIsTheNow

      Ashley Burbank If she thought she was allergic to water, I'd give it to her anyways in the form of lemonade rather than letting her dehydrate and die. If she thought gravity was a hoax, I wouldn't offer to strap her in her chair so she doesn't float away. If she was starving with some sort of eating disorder, I wouldn't enable her by refusing her food. Etc etc. Are you beginning to understand how to deal with these people?

      RealityIsTheNow you know what you're not getting my point you're an ignoramus you've obviously never asked if she has a doctor's diagnosis and I hope she has celiacs disease and gets to sue you for all your worth!!! if she gets cancer she hasn't open shut case for attempted murder and if she does it's murder. on top of that she doesn't even need a diagnosis I found out to intentionally give someone they're trying to avoid eating is illegal. because you know she's trying to avoid it!!! and to give her something and tell her it doesn't have that in it is against the law you are encouraging on her right to choose. if she doesn't need it I don't agree but it's still illegal and very controlling of you

      It takes some discipline, but cooking your own food is the way to go. It doesn't need to be anything fancy if you don't enjoy cooking. I live in South Korea, a developed country, and Korean doctors don't even know what celiac disease is. Koreans think that gluten containing food is just the obvious things like bread, cake, pasta, and noodles and gluten free diet is becoming a trend here as just a way to lose weight. I'm a teacher and when I explain what gluten intolerance is to my students, they say Koreans are pretty much immune to it and then later tell me how they feel tired all the time and don't know why. Meanwhile they're living off of bread and noodles every day.

    This is bullshit... Money for ciliaci? Come on! These people opened up their traditions and their productions to show case the quality not to make a goddamn political campaign! Italy is in crisis of jobs and specially the South is in crisis... We would definitely trade any government money to have jobs! Ma che dici? Un sovvenzionamentoa a tutti i ciliaci??? La situazione non è drastica! Smettila di fare propaganda... Si tratta di un pane di altissima qualità che viene prodotto adesso senza glutine per aiutare che ha allergie... Punto. Niente stato e niente sovvenzionamenti!! Aperture degli idiot a far credere agli americani che la vita in sud Italia è perfetta perché danno un sovvenzionamento... Chiunque è del sud ti dirà che i soldi dello stato non li vogliamo... Vogliamo lavorare!!!
