you've obviously never hit someone in the head with a caramel apple, or one of those green caramel apple suckers, before. they'll pray for death after trying to unstick it.
Another great mod is Knights of the Nine Revelations it expands the original version of the quest giving new versions of the Crusader relics and your own Castle.
I do not recommend Darnified UI if you have small eyes and/or trouble seeing. Darn UI makes the font an icons smaller, so be warned if that will pose a problem for you.
I suppose it falls into a different category but: Nehrim? It is basically a completely new game, but still an oblivion mod at the core. Definitely worth mentioning.
Oblivion was full of mystery, whereas Skyrim was full of repetition in a not so random way. It seems like you fight more Draugrs than anything in Skyrim, which gets old fast. I really liked how Oblivion had more bandits in mines, just added a bit of skulduggery to the atmosphere.
+Almark Oblivion did manage to have diverse sets of dungeons, with either bandits, monsters, or undead creatures. Of course, it still did get old though for some gamers but at least they had more variation than Skyrim.
Definitely a lot of interesting mods in this video to check out - i love the idea of the alternate start and the vampire hunter mods - anything that changes up or adds more to the various questlines in this game is something I absolutely want for my characters. I do have a question, though - do you know of any magic mods that make it possible for spells to fail like they could in older games of the series? I kinda like the idea that a novice or low-level mage would have a harder time casting spells - dissipating into thin air the moment they leave your fingertips or even backfiring and blowing up on your face. Ideally, the odds this happening would start out relatively low so it doesn't become a rage-inducing obstruction to one's enjoyment of the game, and would decrease each time your skill in the appropriate school of magic advances in rank (apprentice, journeyman, expert, etc).
These mods look great, I always wanted to restart Oblivion once more, but I never had the time. I'm gona favorite this video and hopefully remember to rewatch it when I can play Oblivion again! :)
Nice list, haven't played Oblivion in several years but I had my game modded out to oblivion. Surprised not to see FCOM on here, or Elsweyr. Also the cities revamp mod, can't remember the name of it. It even includes the option to use the concept art layout for one of the cities (again, it's been a while, can't remember the name -- it's the green foresty elven-looking city). Wonderful stuff, breathes tons of life into one of the best games of all time, imo. I'd be eager to check up on how far Elsweyr has progressed as well. That mod adds a whole continent to the game, and it's fantastic. There's also the Bruma mod, 'Blood & Mud', included in the city revamp mod I mentioned earlier or available as stand-alone. All-Natural Weather was a great mod too, I remember it fondly. But nothing changes the game like FCOM. Nothing even comes close to that.
I've played some if these mods on my last run a year and more ago. I think i'll do another Oblivion run after i play some dark souls 3, and your video is a very solid place to start it. So thanks!
Interesting video. The only one I liked was the character overhaul, though, which I already have. It's still good to see a review of what's there. Thank you.
I have modded the hell out of skyrim and all the fallouts I have for the PC. But something about Oblivion... it was my introduction to a real open world, RPG, experience. Maybe that's why, but for me, the best way to play Oblivion has always been vanilla
Spent over 100 hours in Skyrim (so far after a few months of playing) and now got my hands on this game too....I'm ready to mod it to oblivion! (I'm sorry I'm sure no one made that joke ever before)
I never understood why people preferred oblivion than skyrim. after playing oblivion I now know why and I haven't touched skyrim since. Best RPG I have ever played modded
Gonna try these out when I play through Oblivion for the second time, except for the graphics ones because my computer's a toaster. I bought Oblivion yesterday.
One more mod that for me is an absolute requirement, and is why I still think Oblivion is better than Skyrim. Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul. It is massive (and I hope it's still out). What it does is delevelling everything. This means it ties enemy levels to location rather than your level. You can go into a dungeon at level 1 and just have to flee because all enemies are level 18. Though when you come back at a higher level, you can wipe the floor with them. Gives a much more rewarding feel. Also, you can be pretty sure that at the end of a high level dungeon Oscuro has manually placed some good loot, so if you somehow manage to get through before the intended level, the rewards are very good. I also used better cities and unique landscapes. Last in particular was awesome. Remember going into the Black/Dark forest. There were no monsters but the atmosphere was just so scay.
hey thanks for this guide, these mods look really great! :) Are there any other oblivion mods that you recommend and that are compatible with the mods u used in this video?
getting into modding oblivion now, modded skyrim way back but shitty work laptop can't handle the north will release something probably in the next month
After seeing this I've decided to get Oblivion on Steam so i can try the mods. I've had oblivion on Xbox since a few days after it came out and i've logged hundred of hours on it but i've never played any mods. Its time to change that.
I find that OBGE produces the best looking water for this game. I used Enhanced Water for years, but after using OBGE water there's no contest. You can use the water without all the other goofy shaders as well. I usually just enable the water and turn on the basic colorgrading option for more realistic color. This is a hilariously old engine, and the way it displays textures and colors is amazingly outdated. Color grading evens everything out without washing out colors or giving the game a "colored" look like some mods do. Ends up in a much smoother looking game with minimal effort.
Really appreciate this video. As someone who uses Windows 10 I found the FCOM Superpack to be a little glitchy and it made the game a chore. This list really helped. Thanks man. +1 Sub Also I was wondering what's the difference between Better Creature Diversity and Marts Monster Mod?
Oblivion has a Harry Potter sorta vibe that you can't help but to fall in love with. Also the architecture and nature textures are beautiful. The soundtrack is pretty underrated imo, it's best TES soundtrack. To anyone who's interesting in playing for the first time, download mods (make sure they're mods that YOU want, don't be forced to download the mods you see in guides, but do use these vids to help) and don't use fast travel.
What mod/s is the thumbnail image from? I got a flashback to this great mod with that blue spiral thing in the left corner but I can't remember which one it is! Midas? @MetaGoblin
TheOfficialNar yea the controls are difrent but better if you want to for instance be a paladin and wield a massive warhamer while still having the ability to heal yourself,if you want to do this in skyrim its a bit inconvinient as you have to unequip the warhamer, heal yourself, and then equip it again. while in oblivion you just have to press 1 button.
I have unnecessary Violence Mod, I heard that you are able to climb walls etc. still doesn't work for me... -,- I looked up how the climbing works and what you need to press, I tried it but it still doesn't work :/
+Jake Smith if you want the easiest way to install mods, use one of the links the description of the video, then download the nexusmod manager from the site and once it is installed, whenever you download a mod choose download with nexusmod manager. once nexus mod manager has downloaded a mod you simply pick the mod in the program and press install in the left side.

What about that overhaul mod? Is it called Xcon or something like that? I can't remember, but it's really the ultimate mod. It's like playing a new game. It's just a major PITA to install, or at least it was in 2009 or whenever it was that I played it. Oblivion is my favorite game of all time! I've played every Elder Scrolls game upon first release (even the original), and I really think Oblivion is overall the best. Not without it's problems, but...
I have qualms with the Character Overhaul to this day. None of the races are really THAT unique in any way, in terms of physical aesthetics...but they should. That's why they are regionally different. Also, the Unnecessary Violence mod has ridiculous animations. Is there a way I can just opt on the Locational Damage and get rid of those weird animations that I, honestly, do not need? Also, does anyone know of any mods that give off "packs" of quests that are compatible with the vanilla game? Just to expand the content, since I've beaten this game *two dozen times*- I mean that has significantly impacted my desire to play the game again and again simply because with a heavy amount of mods, the game is *literally* drowned with content that just cannot seriously fit in this game world. It's a big game, but it just simply isn't big enough. Most "landmass" type mods mutilate every single trope about the other Provinces, or if they are made up (even though I love lore-friendly, I don't mind this since I can't be picky anymore) they are way overdone with non-canonical details. Any help would be appreciated, and maybe drop down some of YOUR recommended mods! Thank you for the video.
Lucas Jenkins the aylied steps. reclaiming sancre tor. kotn revelations. morroblivion (all of morrowinds quests). kragenirs death quest. mannimarco ressurected. order of the virtuous blood: vampire hunting. a brotherhood renewed. thievery in the imperial city. kvatch rebuilt. integration: the stranded light. elsweyr: deserts of anequina. windfall. unique landscapes compilation (has a couple good hidden quests) the lost spires, valenwood islands, mmm yeah thats some good questing for ya
Bethesda why did you make the glass mace look like a caramel apple?
programmer was hungry?
Michael Malone hahahahahaha ikr
Michael Malone I always thought it looked like a lollipop haha
It just works
you've obviously never hit someone in the head with a caramel apple, or one of those green caramel apple suckers, before. they'll pray for death after trying to unstick it.
" Instead of starting in a prison like all other elder scrolls ganes you start on a boat"
......
Morrowind dude
And DaggerFall
It was a prison boat :)
4/5 = All the others.
I'm just here to say that you're a prisoner in all games when u start
Ive gotta say... your game looks damn good. Never thought I would see Oblivion look like that, holy moly.
These are all great mods. Damn, the nostalgia of opening up this game again. Happy 10 year anniversary everyone!
Another great mod is Knights of the Nine Revelations it expands the original version of the quest giving new versions of the Crusader relics and your own Castle.
Agreed! There is even a mod that adds onto that mod!
@@Keristan_aka_christianhulen can you tell me name of that mod?
Just bought oblivion on the summer sale and def going to try some of these out!
Same :D
same
same XD
I bought it before the summer sale Kappa

I do not recommend Darnified UI if you have small eyes and/or trouble seeing. Darn UI makes the font an icons smaller, so be warned if that will pose a problem for you.
2017 guide thats made in early 2016 :P
how many actual good mods were released between then and now?
he just changed title to get more views
RJinthematrix Shit is annoying
Best Video on Oblivion mods... Helped me out tremendously. (:
+Daisy Yang Quite obvious and underrated mods selection for me, all these mods can be easily found at the top pages of nexus.

GarlicKnotz...haha gay

you must be cool man
I suppose it falls into a different category but: Nehrim? It is basically a completely new game, but still an oblivion mod at the core. Definitely worth mentioning.
4:20 I'm sorry to make fun of you, but you said "Mid-ass". I couldn't resist commenting, because I could not stop laughing for about 5 minutes.
Even after 10 years since it's release, Oblivion is still such a popular game.
+Almark Ye there should have been more variation.
While it's a dated game, it still has the exact same charm. Things like that don't go away, that's why we RPG lovers go backwards more these days.
+Almark The biggest problem I had with Oblivion was the repetition. Every single cave was practically identical to every other one.
They were, and that did get old fast.
+Almark Oblivion did manage to have diverse sets of dungeons, with either bandits, monsters, or undead creatures. Of course, it still did get old though for some gamers but at least they had more variation than Skyrim.
I've wanted to replay oblivion for ages now but with some cool mods, your video is a great help. Thank you friend.
It's nice to see modern channels breathing life into classic games I grew up on. Good job man :)
+Gbag34 Thanks lad might be doing some cheeky playthroughs soon where I allow the subs to choose what quests I play so stay tuned :D
I LOVE UR CHANNEL IT BRINGS ME BACK TO THE OLD DAYS/NOSTALGIA KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK MAN
+TheGaming Foxes THANKS LAD BUT WHY ARE WE SHOUTING?
this game never gets old
Oblivion is always going to be my favorite game in the Elder Scrolls series
Shivering Isles... I miss you
a game from 2006, my ''Game of the year edition'' copy from 2007, i play this instead of gta v

These mods look great, I always wanted to restart Oblivion once more, but I never had the time. I'm gona favorite this video and hopefully remember to rewatch it when I can play Oblivion again! :)
Seriously dude, thank you so much for this video! I'm currently reliving the hype in all it's glory :DDD

You didn't even mention nehrim, literally the best mod in oblivion.
Was suggested this video by UA-cam and the first thing I realize is that the intro song is the same one SunnySplosion uses
I've played some if these mods on my last run a year and more ago. I think i'll do another Oblivion run after i play some dark souls 3, and your video is a very solid place to start it. So thanks!
+UchihaDualStorm no problem lad.
Are all the Graphic mods compatible with each other?
I have all installed completely working
Probably not
Interesting video. The only one I liked was the character overhaul, though, which I already have. It's still good to see a review of what's there. Thank you.
That footage your're showing looks and plays great! Is that a mod or are your settings maxed out?
Dude this is amazing! the details you go into.. I commend you for that :D

+Scott Rindal no problem lad get it done :D
BREH, dont change your titles to fit the current year
oblivion is the best hardcore dark RPG game definetly not for casuals nor children
I never understood why people preferred oblivion than skyrim. after playing oblivion I now know why and I haven't touched skyrim since. Best RPG I have ever played modded
If you own morrowind and its dlcs try morroblivion its like Skywind in that it rebuilds morrowind into oblivion
Gonna try these out when I play through Oblivion for the second time, except for the graphics ones because my computer's a toaster. I bought Oblivion yesterday.
They make the game unstable anyway 70% of the time.
Which ones? The ENB or the face overhaul one?
ENB
so many mods that were made outdated by oblivion reloaded
I have one word. Fundament.
Amazing video! I loved this mod list. Thank you so much. It gave Oblivion a new spirit & beautifull gameplay experience.
Wish let there be darkness didn't crash my manager every time I try to load it.
the 5th one reminds me of billy katana. Man who made those animations lol
I like PrinceShroob's alternate start mod better, since you start the MQ by getting arrested.
Your voice is like honey in my ears. Good job on this video, pal.

hey thanks for this guide, these mods look really great! :)
Are there any other oblivion mods that you recommend
and that are compatible with the mods u used in this video?
Oblivion and skyrim is great
but i prefer both
getting into modding oblivion now, modded skyrim way back but shitty work laptop can't handle the north

"Mid-ass Magic." I prefer that instead of Midas Magic.
4 years later I'm laughing my mid-ass off at this
After seeing this I've decided to get Oblivion on Steam so i can try the mods. I've had oblivion on Xbox since a few days after it came out and i've logged hundred of hours on it but i've never played any mods. Its time to change that.
Are NPC's able to use the midas magic spells + the new animations from unnecessary violence?

Lol you pronounced it "mid-ass" magic.
have you played ESO yet? sorry, new sub here.
+Scott Donahue Yeah I got bored but that's probably only because I'm completely bored of modern mmos :P
MetaGoblin That is not you. It is boring.
No recommendations on mods that fix the broken monster scaling? Isn't that widely considered one of the worst aspects of Oblivion?
These are really helpful. Thanks mate
Really appreciate this video. As someone who uses Windows 10 I found the FCOM Superpack to be a little glitchy and it made the game a chore. This list really helped. Thanks man. +1 Sub

Anyone who wanna try this great game, pick it up from Steam Summer Sale. I did a couple of days back.
Does Tweaked ENB conflict with the other graphic mods that you show???
all oblivion players are so humble. like compare this guy to MxR mods
i really hope they bump this up on the one and ps4
just got oblivion. now to mod this like crazy..
mod it till it crashes.-life moto
Dasho 420 I find the controls weird though, got used to Skyrim. But so far so good, it's funny how I float whenever I fucking jump lololol

Is there mod that puts all your characters into different folders so you don't get confused between save files.
i love your channel can u make a tutorial how to actually install and play the mods cause i have no idea what to do
What mod gives you the cool looking blue staff in your video thumbnail?
+LordBrendan650 Midas magic I think.
Why dont u post us the links to the mods
