I mean, needless to say he's probably trained this part tens if not hundreds of times. What to me is really impressive is doing this after you've already climbed 2000 feet up in the air.

I watch Alex did the simulation in that gym in a video and he did it so smoothly
Slow, methodical, deliberate and beautiful
▫️Right hand on a crimp, left hand on a side pole.
▫️And then you put your right foot high on to the dimple thing.
▫️Right hand goes up (across to the left) to a small down pulling crimp.
▫️Left foot goes into a little dish.
▫️And then you DRIVE up on the left foot into the thumb press. (Left hand.)
▫️Roll your index and middle fingers over your thumb.
▫️Switching your feet, your left foot stems out to the bad sloping foot hold.
▫️NOW you switch your thumbs and reach out left to the sloping "grainy" loaf-type hold.
▫️Grip loaf with left hand and then take your right thumb off the press and across to the loaf above where your left hand is.
▫️Now comes the karate kick/double dyno jump decision.
That’s why he’s able to do some of the free solos he has done. His style is naturally very methodical. Even when he’s roped up, it’s all very intentional.
What do I get if I flash it? Your life.

gagi otter well you can’t really call it flashing it if he rehearsed the move over and over for years before... but yeah he did obviously “flash” it on the day he climbed the whole route
Imagine doing this 2000 feet up, no rope, and when you've done it you can think "well... 1000 feet to go". I can't fathom how he managed to not get absolutely pumped to the point where he wouldn't be able to grip a fork. It's just incredible!
Tried it last week when I went to vauxhall can confirm I'd be dead right now if I did the real thing. 10/10 would fail again

4:05 everyone forgets there's another hold to the far right that you can use to lean on to match the two big holds on the left while leaning right. I guess you have to have at least honnolds arm span to use it, but hey, it's there and you're not using it.

Watching them have so much trouble getting those few holds REALLY shows how amazing Alex’s climbing skills are. These guys obviously know what they’re doing and tried and failed so many times. Alex had to get it right once. Even having done it successfully before, this was the first time he had to get it right the first time And did it. Impressive af. 👏🏼 👏🏼
