Will the Kia Stinger drift? Stability control tested!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 жов 2024
- Last year when we compared the Kia Stinger to the V8 Aussie muscle car, the Holden Commodore SS-V Redline, Paul Maric said that you couldn't switch stability control off in the Stinger.
A lot of you suggested that he was wrong. So, in the hunt for the answer, we hit the track and switched everything off!

Respect for admitting a mistake 👍🏻
More and more respect for You guys! Not often smb admits to be wrong. Nice.
Thanks!
honesty brings value to all..learnt something new today..well done.. love the Stinger vids
Respect points for you imo. You actually took the time to read and ultimately respond to viewers comments after retesting and verifying the Stability Control actually turns off.... It shows good character when someone can admit when they are wrong but then you sorta shoot yourself in the foot after saying "it's not often" or "It's rare when you are wrong"
I would enjoy to see you do this again on the newer models now it doesn’t upshift at redline 🙂
I really love the way you do your reviews. Keep it up
Thanks!
This confusion would have been due to the stinger never fully being in manual mode, most cars don’t change up gears in manual mode but will change down gears when you come to a stop but the stinger seems to change up gears too if it thinks you’ve forgotten to.
.....some cars in manual mode will not change up but most will change down if you stop.
Try doing that in an AWD. it will not slide for more then 2 seconds even if everything is off. Im going to get it all tuned out if I can soon.
J, Williams it just takes a sharper angle with a bit of handbreak encouragement
Exactly why I got the rwd, I live in florida so no loss for me other than weight loool
You bought the wrong version.
@@turdlingjenner9361 Neg
Thats exactly why I went with the gts 💪💪💪 drift mode
You would also be able to see the breaking tire on slow motion video on a wet road especially, if in fact ESC was active
Apparently if in sport mode with all the assists turned off it will not change gears at the rev limiter? Please test this rumour
Its upshifts. Tested
If you will drive on the sport mode and the traction control fully off the gearbox will not change the gear unless you will drive stright. Your mistake is that you drive on comfort mode.
Do the new updated ones still auto upshift on redlines? I just bought a ceramic grey MY23 and am very keen on some skids, at the skid pan of course 😉
Hi was it AWD or RWD? I have AWD 3.3 GT3 and I can't even do a half doughnut 🤧 with TC and ESP completely disable
This one is rear-wheel drive :_)
You messed up
same.. can't drift my 3.3 TT awd even when it snows
@@AsifAliyev1988 I can Do donuts all day long in the snow with my 3.3TT AWD... I dont know what you are doing wrong...
@@martinnoel1111 wait u can ? I got Kia stinger gt awd
Can the AWD drift, since it is RWD-biased?
WE STILL NEED THEM TO COME OUT WITH A MANUAL OPTION FOR THE NEW 3.3t GENESIS G70!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you guys try it with the i30n
Definitely off with the i30N :-) you can see it off in our drag race: ua-cam.com/video/z0G1cIupdpg/v-deo.html
my little friend, i30n is fwd ... rwd cars re born for drift :-)
@@iviivi187 Most cars these days are Fwd, No need to be a dick.
WOW Damn interesting! Good job!
Why not use the gt instead of the premium
The one in the video has the 3.3 V6 engine. The V6 comes with the fugly headlights in Australia.
Good on you 👌
Is this stinger with LSD?
Woobyung Chae Yes mate as long as its the models with the twin turbo V6.
Yes :-)
You hold down the buttons and it turns them off.
So the gearbox is the weak link right can only imagine what would happen with constant hooning and drifts over an extended period of time... FTL clearly Mr M division screwed up somewhere TBH...
Kyle Fredericks 10 year warranty lol
umm, the computer controlled torque reduction is there to give the gearbox life, unless you'd rather it just slams into the next gear with 510nm feeding into it. That is what smokes gearboxes.
The gearbox is made shit in this car. I have one myself now and when you manually change gears to make it paddleshift so you have control it’s not in your control. As soon as you get to the limiter it will automatically change the gears for you..... it’s annoying when you actually want to stay in a gear
You bought a GT with a 10 year warranty. Gearbox is exactly what should be. This isn't a track car.
There's a TCU tune for the gearbox to stop auto shift
Its a great car but....the styling is just like the designers said, give it everything!
Massive horizontal grills in the bumper, add a couple of big vertical grills. Put small oval holes in there too.
Put plastic bonnet vents in.
Put plastic fender vents in it too!
Put some vents in the back bumper too.
Make the tail light come out a foot into the rear quarter panel.
Sculpt and strake the sides like a reverse Lamborghini duct.
Put a BMW shark fin on the roof.
Seth McFarlen can whip it
So now with the commodore and falcons gone you have found the new Bogan cars. Stinger and M3.
Albert Biermann? Here, you dropped that name, let me pick it up for you. Fan girl detected.
Gear box is the weak link. SSV for me😎😆
Agreed, love the LS3!
Shame they didnt go with a ZF 8 speed auto box in the Stinger.
Don't know how many of the keyboard warriors actually ever drifted a car and had a gearshift eg 1 to 2nd.....
Not really a weak link, so far there are a fair few high horsepower stingers around and the transmission is not yet considered a weak link. What you are seeing here is a commanded torque reduction to prevent it shifting with all of the 510nm torque feeding into the transmission as that is what wrecks transmissions. Do you think an SSV doesn't apply a torque reduction on shifts?
@@AlphaFlight yeah ok 👍🏼
Pretty sure if u put it in custom mode or sport + the stability is turned off
Did you watch the video?
Did James die?
Bond? James Bond?
Hahaha Ward... James Ward... Perhaps shot by the Golden Eagle?
British
This Guy don't know how to drift car
Just checked your channel to see how it's done but only spotted a Bollywood playlist. Keen for some tips, bro.
