Shane Warne was the difference between Australia and SA in 90s..SA were as good or even better than Aus in batting, fielding and fast bowling..Warne made a decisive impact in many games including the famous 1999 worldcup semis..

That was a golden era of opening bowlers, Pollock Ntini mostly overtool Mcgrath BrettLee then we had Wasim akram Akhtar and Waqar, Windies had Ambrose Walsh, Even Zim had usedul bowlers Heath streak and Olonga. Eng and Ind may be weakest End i think had Goughy Mullaly and Caddick and Ind didn't have partner for Srinath until Zaheer khan arrived.
He was a fantastic cricketer who Michael Papps made look almost unplayable. Pollock was so smart that he realised that Papps was just plonking his front foot straight down the wicket and manourvered him around the crease. Papps displayed an appaling technique and Pollock manipulated him. Beautiful.

His career lastsed twelve years and in the first 6 years he was mostly 140+ and now that's half his career. The next half his pace came down due to injuries but he was never slow. Bhuvi's career is nowhere close to Pollock. Even though he has been around for so many years he has hardly played tests.

Seems harsh. Pollock is world class and Papps still scored 30 here. Considering what the ball was doing he did about as well as could be expected.
