Looks like Weber really worked out all of the bugs that haunted them with the Smokefire. Great demo on that cookers capabilities, Jeff! I'll take one Test Dummy, medium rare and two burgers. Cheers!
Hahaha I hope one of these days we can actually hang out, Greg!!! This is the pit Weber should have made the first time!! I have 8 cooks on it now and still haven't cleaned it out yet! hahaha Thanks for watching brother!!
Very Impressive. I am in my upper 60’s and love my Weber kettles, WSM’s, Genesis 1000, and Q’s. I always wanted a Weber Kamado, but at my age I think a Searwood with my 26” kettle, and a Q, will be all I need.
If you want better sear marks replace your existing grates with the porcelain coated cast iron grates for EX4 Smokefire. Its almost an exact fit with half inch width gap. Weber suggested this when I emailed them online. It definitely improved the sear marks.
Could this be used as an everyday grill? I’d love to get a smoker but also love to grill after work. Also would the Weber Searwood be better than the Weber Smokefire?
Great video! I have to get that rotisserie. I'm curious why you didn't try the manual mode for the searing and open lid tests? That keeps pellets rolling at constant rate. Level 10 would be equivalent to 600 degrees. Your food looks great regardless. I got a Searwood 600 a few weeks ago and love it. I did pizzas on it and noticed the big temp drops when using the temperature mode. I tried the manual mode for some skirt steak and found it to do a pretty good job maintaining heat.
Wow, I know what will be replacing my SmokeFire when the time comes. I was skeptical about this pit but after seeing it in action here and in the FB groups, it looks like Weber nailed it. Your garage looked smoked out too. Nice review and thanks for doing it Jeff!
First sorry for the crazy late reply but 100% I am happy with this pit!!! So many things you can do with it and priced right!!! Hope you had a great 4th, Troy!!!
@@SmokedBBQSource No worries on the reply. Right now I'm on my 4th season with the EX6 and that thing just keeps running strong. By the time I'm needing another, any and all bugs should be worked out of the Searwood. Although a LSG is also something on my mind too. Hope you still have all your digits after the 4th...LOL
Fantastic job Jeff, Definitely does some nice searing and the rotisserie gives you more options also!. Well explained and always entertaining. Thanks for all you do to guide us along! Cheers and have a fantastic weekend brother ! 🍻🍻🍻🍻
Thanks Mario!! I really like this pit and I will say I am now a Weber pellet grill fan!! Thanks for watching and the great comment!! I hope you are doing good and enjoying your summer!!
That's the plan in North America. The Smokefire is already on clearance. Not sure about the rest of the world, looks like the Searwood is still the only option.
Well done videos!! Your candor, tone and flow makes it interesting to watch! The manual mode set on 10 is your friend for grilling. Constant pellet feed and fan. Give it a try.
I've been using my Flatiron/Smoker combo for years. I can't buy into the "Flavor Of The Month". Stick with what ya know. If you got a fat wallet...go ahead. I believe it's all about technique.
Heck ya!!! Glad you enjoy my videos!!! Ya my 2 clowns are good kids, even if I want to trade them in for a new pair of socks once in a while!!! hahahaha Thanks for watching!!
This is the video I’ve been waiting for. Steaks, chops, burgers and a rotisserie bok-bok 😂. All in one video too!😱🤯 You went the distance with this one! Looks like the Searwood can competently grill. When I bought a woodwind pro last year I knew I would be buying something else for grilling in the future. Until the Searwood came out I was planning to get a propane grill, advantage Searwood. Thanks!
Heck ya!!! I al really impressed with the new Searwood! The complete review will come out soon and on that video i used the rotisserie and the flat top griddle!! This pit is truly a jack of all trades!!! Thanks for watching!
Great video. This is how the review for smoker should be. I learned all I want in one shot. Can you do the same to campchef wood Windpro I can help with finishing the food 😆
Can you keep the grill grates in while using the rotisserie? I would love to have the additional grilling space to cook on while having the rotisserie going.
We will have a comparison coming out in the next few months but for now I would say it depends on your primary goal. Do you want to mostly smoke but do a little grilling? I would get the Woodwind Pro and try and add a sidekick. If you want to use the whole surface to grill, the Searwood is hard to beat. There's also a $300 price jump between the Searwood and Woodwind Pro, something to consider.
The Searwood looks like a winner. Comparing the Smokefire to the Searwood, the Searwood appears to be a very good improvement, the only exception is that the Smokefire created better smoke.
I disagree on the smoke, the Searwood smokes more than the SmokeFire from testing out both in my studio. My exhaust can barely keep up with the Searwood! Thanks for watching!!
I was trying to figure out what size searwood I needed to replace my smokefire EX6. Seeing the amount of food that will fit on the 600 makes it an easy decision. Great video.
If I had to guess it was 4-5 pounds. It certainly will chew them up on the preheat!! But still pretty impressed how good this little pellet grill is! Thanks for watching, brother!

Thanks Jeff. - I've been using the 2-2-2-2 (rest for 5) method with Costco rib steaks for years now on my gas grill. - It has been flawless. This new Weber seems to dot all the "I"s and cross all the "T"'s. - Cheers!
@@gosman949 All I can offer is that if you are having problems with your Meater, you are not using it properly. After over 5 years, and 100 cooks, I have never had an issue with any of my meaters, other than occasional loss of connection in a metal BBQ or metal oven - repositioning the unit always solves the problem for me.
@@garryhammond3117 this last cook went better. The problem seems to be charging of the probes. Sitting in the block keeps the probes charged but runs the battery down which eventually runs the probes down. So now, I'm removing the batteries between smokes. But I have to remember to charge the probes back up for 24 hours before smoking and cooking. Oh, my what a pain!
Use manual mode for lid open grilling. You can set it as high as 10 and will get a continuous pellet feed to maintain temp.
I have this pit and can confirm. Manual mode for open top grilling and using the griddle
Came here to say this.
That’s what i was going to tell him too manual mode
Came to say the same and prime the pot with a handful of pellets when cleaning it out to get your next cook going faster.
