The hobo union approves of this video, and will be setting up a hobo camp
...😊😊😊😊😊
Nice! If the hobos like it then I’m on the right track
Great haul.. I say make a blue comet out of the shell and tender.
That’s a fantastic idea!
great to see your moms running super jealous you should be proud good job
I’m thrilled! I had always figured it would be just a display piece, but running it just puts a big smile on my face.
I just came home from school, and I started watching this!😜
Awesome. Not do your homework! lol
@@dagryffynhobby yeah I didn’t have homework on the day i commented that
If you’re happy with the haul Dave you won!
Thanks, I’m happy
Dave, maybe take out the windup motor and key and mount them on a flatbed since they are family heirloom pieces. then motorize the engine shell.
I like that! I’ll look into it 👍
Good haul ! You could always Frankenstein the rusty cabooses into something , heck, motorize one of the just for fun, call it a street car .
Great idea! I’ll have to see what I can do
As usual you found a great deal.
I think so too!
Marx guy here, now you have my attention, for this is the same game I play while on E-bay. Total of price and shipping divided by number of pieces.
Hi! I can’t bring myself to buy Marx by the piece online. Always looking for lots. I’m tickled with having another motor and a couple new cars, can’t complain!
Lots to work with there, a good buy
Thanks, I’m happy
Awesome 😊
Thanks!
Dagryffyn!hello, incredible upload!till next time,
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Oh yeah, we ALL know what happens at York. You find stuff you didn't KNOW you needed!
Hey, I didn't know I needed an as-new LTI era Lionel Reading Pacific and six as-new Williams Reading passenger cars to go with it, and all for less than $300! Doesn't that sound like something EVERYONE needs? It does to me!
A good assortment of Marx for $60 Dave, and if you're happy with it that's all that matters. And the rough ones can always be stripped and freelanced into anything you like. They're rough, so it's no sin.
A fun video, thanks for posting!
Thanks. If I saw a set like that for 300, I would need it as well.
@@dagryffynhobby I showed the whole package to Walt Herbine (Mr. Reading) from Henning's Trains, he was VERY impressed! Doubly made my day!
@@wayneantoniazzi2706 if Walt approves then that is definitely a win!
I think you did excellent, I think you really made out Dave.
Thanks Frank!
Quite a haul of Marx train products you've gotten, Dave. I think you gave the re-evaluation a fair go, judging the value in terms of its worth to you. Such judgments are largely personal, but you're a handy guy in the workshop, so I'm sure you can make a silk purse out of any sows ear. You've done it before.
Thanks. I have to go through all my Marx cars and repair all that need it, clean off the rust and dirt, and see what I’ve got.
Enjoy😊👍!
Thanks!
Hi Dave! Great vid! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Kool stuff a little bit junky
Maybe you could use some of the
More beat up stuff on your layout as abandoned pieces left behind
Maybe a hobo seen I like the dump. Car
Moms train is awesome can’t wait to see it running
Thanks. I realize it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I do enjoy rusted old junk!
Great, I'm with you on finding and improving old unloved stuff...say have you ever seen the American Flyer pre-war O Gauge 3-rail stuff...I've found the odd piece in junk lots I've picked up over the years...
Thanks! I’ve been resisting the urge to stay buying old American Flyer stuff, there are a couple engines that keep catching my eye. It’s only a matter of time!
Good to have parts if you're going to do Marx. If you find a junk box at a meet you can get more parts. It's all inexpensive. 6" 4=wheel cars are fun to play with. Betcha find a rusted out UP cattle car with a nice door for a couple bucks.
Thanks. Yeah, I’ve mixed and matched bases for rusted out cars before, and I’m definitely going to be looking for a wrecked cattle ca!
Nice
Thanks
Love your vids keep up the good work
Thank you very much, glad you enjoy them.
I think you did pretty good. Sometimes a guy needs to step away from ebay for a while, lol.
Thanks. I just can’t control myself!
As for the lighted caboose, missing the pick-up. BenzTrainz channel has some simple sliding pick-ups he designed, however putting on a Lionel type roller would be best for your track.
Interesting. I may look into it. Most likely it will just sit in a box
Great purchase! Marx is easy to mix and match. Just have fun. My fail is the scout type box cars. They call to me. Thank you for the great video. Be safe
Thanks! That’s the great thing about this hobby, there is something for everyone
👍
Dave you can convert a Lionel g gauge train into o scale
Not sure how or why I would do that, but it’s intriguing!
@@dagryffynhobby I’m going to convert mine from battery to electric
I just bought a super super rough Marx loco on purpose and an not going to clean it. It looks super cools all dirty and rusty.
Nice!
Hi Dave. What screws did you use attaching your tubular track to your foam board? Thanks
No screws. Screws transmit vibration and noise. I use a silicone caulk adhesive to secure the track and roadbed
I'm wondering how you change wheel sets om Bachman plastic trucks
It would depend on the specific truck. Sometimes wheels can be removed with a little pressure, sometimes trucks need to come apart, sometimes a clip removed.
all hope is not lost... use this crap to "enhance" your layout ...a little airbrushing here - a little airbrushing there ? a few graffitti decals ? some layouts have non-functioning sidings?
There is always hope. I will clean these all up, maybe make a distant forced perspective caboose motel. Who knows!
I have some marx stuff I will donate to your channel. Need an address. :) ( U will be surprised in a good way )
Wow that would be great and very much appreciated! My shipping address is in the video description.
Nothing I would fork over $63 for. Better spent going out to dinner. Unless one that treasures that stuff looks more like costly junk. You are pleased and that is what counts. IMHO is opposite opinion of this purchase. Yes it is still UA-cam entertainment.
Well, I can’t really go out to dinner these days, health issues, so I have to disagree! lol. But I’m still happy with the purchase. There are some great pieces.
Baaaah. Plastic couplers and wheels, rusty and missing parts is junk. Who has a budget for garb? Save your money and buy something of value.
Where you see junk, others see opportunity 😉
Did you ever see at totally destitute " junk man ? 🤑"
The treasure lies within his heart....
❤
