If you are looking for the later, then there's only one question you need to ask, which is: what is love to you? (Or something similar) The answer your looking for is: trust, honesty and respect for oneself and your partner (or words to that effect). If they can't answer that question, then they don't know what they are looking for in a relationship apart from s@x.
