Ha, this was fun but I found it hard. Some interesting selections there! Don Q always catches me out as I've never seen the whole ballet, only some of the most famous bits. There's a lot more to it than just Kitri...I must find a full performance to watch... Some less flattering choreography in a few of these. I always love watching McRae, but this coda wasn't his moment to shine, I thought. Anyway, really enjoyed this. Am getting acquainted with so much of the classical repertoire through watching these, plus the mental exercise of the questions is great. (I'm always impressed how the other commenters know so much.) Thanks!
Aw, thank you so much! Don Quixote is a brilliant performance, absolutely worth watching! So much fun ! When I started this channel, I didn't believe that there would be so many ballet savvies out there. Thanks again for watching ❤
A few I knew, Coppelia, Swan Lake, La Beyadere, The Nutcracker, Don Q, LeCorsaire, La Fille Mal Gardee, and a few others. The quizzes are fun, BQ. I hope you keep them coming.
20/20! It was such a lovely quiz, so lovely examples! Here only classic ones as probably later codas aren't used anymore? I'm glad to see many examples I've been thinking of (such like nr. 20, obviously). Nice amount of Tchaikovsky (such like the six fairies (;), also a good choice with only using rehearsals for the most obvious ones (they are soooo good, actually a pity not to see from the stage (; ). What I do also love, but here not included, is Swan Lake Act 2 coda for nr. 13. My favorite from these? How dare you to make me choose from the clips (;
I got seventeen correct answers, most of them cuz I've seen them before 😊; and several were wild guesses 😅, still tho, I had to really analyse the music & costume well enough 😊. My most favourite is No 4, Boylston & Simkin ❤. Once, I'd seen on yt an ABT dancers' exercise, featuring Isabella Boylston and a young Catherine Hurlin ❤, I certainly admire both dancers ❤. My other favourite is No. 7, delightful 'Coppélia' ballet ❤. Osipova of course, I'm sure it's her, dancing. I also fleetingly, vaguely, recognised 'Tikhomirova' . . another great dancer, and I love Tikhomirova, too ❤. I enjoyed watching this compilation video, and all the great dancers who participated ❤❤❤❤❤! Thanks as always @ B Q ❤😊, I'll watch this again tomorrow 😊.
