- Alice is finished and she already has a new home. It’s a record- sold before it was complete. How cool is that?! I put a color wash on one of Sir John Tenniel’s original illustrations from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and gave the legs a real blendy Wonderland look.

I used all @chalkmtnsupply products-
Paint color list (don’t hold your breath, there’s a lot!):
Mellow White, Light Yellow, Chalkboard, Deep Emerald, Sapphire, Indigo, Deep Plum, Barn Red, Woodland Harbor, and Blackboard
Sealers: Satin Poly for the top to apply the illustration and to protect (several layers), the bottom sealed in Hemp Wax. Then the whole piece was gone over in the Antique wax to give it an aged look- ya know, like and old book.

Beyond beautiful! What a masterpiece!!! Hats off for a superior job!!!!
Thanks so much!
Absolutely charming. You sold it for a bargain price, it's worth a hell of a lot more. Doesn't matter that it was a free piece, your talent and creativity are what make this table stunning. Plus you have the supplies & tools to create the design. You are able to print on newsprint, and the cricut for creating stencils, neither of which I own. Lucky lady who bought this table.
Thank you, Sydni. The more I do and the more my skills increase the more I feel comfortable charging my worth. It’s been in interesting growth process. I still wouldn’t say I charge enough, but it’s certainly more than when I started. And the Cricut I found on marketplace for a steal! I couldn’t bare to pay full price for one. I’m always scouring there for items I can use for my furniture.
I agrer 100%! Even the fact that it sold before the whole web could sink their wallets into it, shows you that you’re art is worth waaaay more! I’d go triple! I’m mid-class with not much extra income, but I’d happily save 600-700 at least for that table! Haha sorry, just my long winded way of saying you’re amazing and I looove every piece that you’ve done!😍
Beautifully done
Thank you

This is so pretty. Great job!
Thanks so much! And thanks for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it.
greetings, I've done tables similar to this but felt you couldn't paint the leather ---I'm amazed you could do that with chalk paint! Very inspiring piece, especially since my name is Alice !!! thanks so much!
Hey, Alice! Yes, leather tops are ok to paint. If the top was in great condition I would have just tried to restore it, but as it wasn’t, paint was the way to go for me. Plus, I really like that these tables give a frame of sorts to work with. Thank you for watching!
I love this!
Wow!!
Thank you, Hanna!
This is an exceptional piece. I found you while searching to see if I could/should paint the small leather table top I have. I know mine will not look this great.
Oh I’m sure it will! I would love to see what you came up with when it’s finished! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment, Delaine.
I'm going through all your old videos because I enjoy them very much. This one was great. So much artistry! One thing I don't understand however is why you blended the top before you decoupaged it. Did you decide to change it at the last minute? Was the geode design your original thinking? Regardless, great job, and kudos. It doesn't surprise me that it sold so fast. If only life could be that easy for me . . .
Hey, Richard! I originally was going to use thinner tissue paper where you would have been able to see the blend underneath and I thought it would be a fun idea. And then I decided to use the newsprint paper which isn’t nearly as translucent so it ended up being unnecessary.
Cute! So you don't have to peel off the leather? Is it soft to the touch/like sink down a bit? Seems weird that you can just paint over it.
No, the leather makes a great surface to decoupage over. The only time I would peel it off would be if the leather was trying to come up anyways. And it feels like a mix of the old leather and a regular tabletop. It’s harder and smoother than the leather because of how many layers of poly are over it, but softer than wood since there’s a little “give” to the surface. I hope that makes sense. And thank you for making the rounds on a couple videos tonight and taking the time to leave comments.
@@elegantupgrades got it 😺
Its a amazing. What do you use for a top coat
WOW!!!! That is Amazing!!! How long did it take for you to create this beauty? You are very talented!
Thank you, Trish! Surprisingly, not long at all. The original artist did the hard work, I was just inspired by it.
Nice job. She should have priced it higher for all that work.
Thank you ☺️
Beautiful! But what was the point of doing all that blending on the table top?
I know it’s hard to tell, but in person you could see the gradient under the paper and it added a bit more whimsy to the Alice in Wonderland feel.
this so pretty! Where do buy the paper for the decoupage?
This one I printed out on my printer at home. I just use newsprint paper. But I also order from Zazzle on occasion.
Being new to all this, I'm wondering how you deliver your furniture to your clients?
I have a small SUV, if it fits in it and they are local, I’ll deliver for a fee. If it’s too large, I just say pick up only. If it’s something from Etsy, I use UShip. Hope that helps!
@@elegantupgrades Thanks much!
could you have transfered the design with water and the rubbing away method?
You can only do the rubbing away method if you print with a laser printer. My printer is an inkjet. But if you have a laser printer, that would absolutely work- however, I’d go with a lighter base of paint so it showed up better.
The table looks like very old antique? $$
No, surprisingly not. They pop up a lot in my area. Any pieces I find that are really old antiques I do restore on them if they can be saved.
What was the purpose of the blending of the colors on the top?
In person, you can see the colors and shading coming through and it adds a bit more of the Alice flair.
TEA, Please.
