- Today we'll ask ourselves the question whether or not you can beat Plants vs Zombies with Plants having 6 times longer recharge. The anwser might surprise you at the end.

@@Elimed12 Late response, but the times petersusilo9588 listed take into account the 6X difference. Normally, the recharge times are 750 (7.5 seconds) for fast, 3000 (30 seconds) for slow, and 5000 (50 seconds) for very slow.
This is nostalgic. Not because it is PvZ1, but because it takes me back to the era of PvZ videos where no one used a mic.
This challenge looks extremly difficult. It's bad enough that some plants have slow recharge but this, this is taking the difficulty to a whole new level! Anyways, great video as always Samen!!

It's funny how a challenge run like this can completely change the meta of the game with just one simple change...
Sun production is obviously a bit stunted in the beginning, but the consequence of having long recharges somewhat creates a pro here where later on you'll pretty much have too much sun for everything you need, because of just how long it takes to plant anything.
Instas and walls become a lot less worth bringing since they just won't be able to hold off enough or get enough mileage because of the incredibly long recharge time they have now. So because of this, plants with fast recharges instantly become far more viable in this environment. Doom-shroom is the only Insta that's _arguably_ still worth bringing, simply because it's a full screen nuke, but it definitely isn't as busted as it was previously since you basically never get to use it again afterwards. (Unless you're doing Survival, of course.)
Threepeater as mentioned in the video is a fantastic plant now, which is a change I wasn't expecting, but it makes sense. Because it's fast recharge counters the challenge's nerf, and combined with how the Sun meta is affected, it instantly makes it probably A tier or potentially S tier in terms of viability for the challenge. Once you get the sun production up for it, it instantly becomes a wave clearing plant compared to others which may only take care of one at a time.
It's also worth mentioning how Scardey Shroom is indirectly buffed under these circumstances! Usually it's not worth bringing Scardey Shroom because Puff Shroom is, in most cases, just a better version of it. But here it becomes far more viable since Puff Shroom can't be spammed under the challenge's conditions anymore, which honestly puts it at a much worse spot. But because of that, pairing it with Scardey Shroom can make up for that issue, since you can just spam both of them. Sun meta under these conditions also means that you'll basically be spending nothing on it as long as you have even a couple sun producers up, so it's even better.
I'd guess that plants like Gloom Shroom are basically impossible to set up, along with others like Cob and Gatling, so most of the upgrades are basically just relegated for Survival only usage in most cases. It's still really interesting just how much changing a single stat on every plant changes how you play it so drastically. (Except for Starfruit LMAO)

Can't wait for pvz1 but every plant recharges 5 times slower,zombies having 12x more hp,zombies being 5 times faster,plants costing double,plants costing 50 more sun every time you plant them like ultomato from pvz2,every wave being as strong as the final wave and every level having 4 flags

If you have beef with Imp, pay attention to gargantuar arm, when his bandage appear, wait for him to get 200 more damage and throw an insta kill. This will kill the gargantuar without any imp

That challenge could be so painful to watch. Thankfully, Samen speeded the game up a lot so the recharge looks normal. I always found long recharge painful...

Your style is very similar to RCCH's standard style! Without the font difference, I would think that was RCCH's video. However, I think that style isn't best. It's just reading from the text on the screen. I love a lot one style RCCH used only once in the Brutal EX Zombotany video. It includes both live reaction and post-review! Sadly, it didn't have text, but it luckily has automatic subtitles. However, auto subtitles can be confusing. For example, auto subtitles keep referring to "brutal" as "bruno"! Combining that style with text will be awesome. (Text or subtitles are super necessary for me to understand videos because I'm deaf. I do have a Cochlear implant, but I can’t hear clearly enough to understand these videos.) Post-review text will be the same as RCCH's standard text, but the text should be *spoken*. Treat the text as a script for you to remember. Try to avoid reading the text. The live reaction text will be like your versus mode with Scaffold video and your voice only PvZ run. The live text is split into shorter and faster words. And words appear in order (This word appears first then the other word appears later in the same sentence. Sometimes the first word may disappear, sometimes the other word appears at the right of the first word). However, the live reaction text should include all words, not just highlight words, unlike the versus video. I hope you take time to read and think about this feedback! RCHH also should read this and try that style again!
Interesting how the early game is almost impossible in this mod, but the late game looks pretty much the same as usual. Really good work though
I love how sun production isn't really a problem any more because of how the sun stacks up
