    i didn't realize that paths had so much editing functionality... more things to play with! GIMP may not be that far off having vector layers instead of paths? thanks for the info! :)

    I have a really basic question. I am creating a path around an object, then deleting the surrounding image. Sometime's I create gaps by moving to quickly and when I attempt to close the path, I end up with lines joining other nodes instead of closing the path around the image. How can close the gaps I have accidentally created. I appreciate your help. Thank you. I used to know this stuff, it's just been a while. I'm sure it's really simple.

    how do I save a path for later ?

    • @mikewellwood1412
      @mikewellwood1412 2 роки тому

      If you mean later, as in a completely separate composition (another, later GIMP session), you can export it as a .svg file. Go to the paths "menu" (not sure if that's the correct name - it's next but one to the right of the layers "menu", and right click. You should see the export path option. You will be asked to choose the name of the file to copy it to. Make sure you give it the .svg extension ( svg = scaleable vector graphics).
      You can then import that file as a path into a future GIMP session.
      If you mean "later" as in later in the same composition, you don't need to do anything special to save it. It should remain available, and you can see it via the paths "menu" as above. Use the "eye" icon to make it visible, and I think if you click on it, the nodes should become visible again.
