Appreciate the background on Pedro! I few months back, I was wanting to show it to someone (after having used it in the past) and was struggling to find background information on its disappearance.
@@imdxpertm Yes, me. I have a branch that allows 15 different kinds of color space, and any number of icc profile based spaces. It's what I spend most of my time developing. It's taking *way* longer to develop than I had intended.
@@doctormo That's great news Martin. Since you have already dived deep into this, what would you recommend, Krita or Photopea.(online) as an alternative? Just for printing purpose. They both have CMYK support and are free s/w. Please note It's quite difficult for an average designer to understand the technical details. Just like Shape builder, I am sure this feature would immensely increase Inkscape usage especially in Global South countries and SME across the globe.
Thank you for all you do my friend. The Document Properties work you have done along with the Flatten command are going to make things so much easier. Keep up the great work
If an instance of inkscape could be shared across a chat sysystem that makes me think inkscape could be hooked up to an AI chatbot, which could communicate a translation of functionality and it could populate or move things requested, text-to-speech would be kind of interesting there.
A collaborative Inkscape feature would be great for teaching and mentorship. It would be nice if it uses XMPP on the backend, so it could work through something like Nextcloud Talk (in theory).
Yes I didn't mention that Pedro was XMPP based as I thought that might be too technical. I reviewed the situation and it would require a new extension type and writing the main body in python, as there just aren't good C++/C libraries for any chat protocol. Probably because it's not a high ask.
It's hard to say for sure, but I think not. It's possible that you can use inkscape running on your computer, from your tablet. But that's the most I've ever seen. I should also point out that Inkscape is banned from iOS/iPad/iPhones because of our open source license.
I’d like to interject and state that Apple will be allowing third party markets on their devices at some point in the future due to recent battles with the EU. In the meantime, I’ve had great success using Inkscape on touchscreen laptops, 2-in-1 laptops, and graphics tablets which you plug into a PC. There is a company called Pine64 which sells a device they call PineTab2, which is an ARM-powered tablet which runs Linux and desktop applications. One of those could be used to run Inkscape as well.
@@toxiccan175 Your answers are entirely correct. It's possible that inkscape could be built for Android, but no one ever has. Maybe it's too much heft, I don't know a this stage though. The future is going to be fun where I have to say only Europeans have inkscape though. What a world!
Hello Mr.Martin . Can you please tell me if Inkscape supports interactive PDF edit ? Like a PDF file which contains buttons and anybody clicks it then it takes him to certain links etc.
@@doctormo It can't? But you CAN add links to any object, and they become like buttons and take you to a website on click. And the exported PDF keeps that interactivity. Or does this not qualify as interactive?
@@doctormo I saw it already reported, also give my feedback with workaround for it. It works fine if you plug the tablet after starting Inkscape or switch to X11. But I don't know how common the bug is. Did you try to replicate it, I am guessing you are still on X11?
Remembering the past, when I felt so technologically advanced because we learned BASIC in school.

Hi Martin! The Pedro functionality is great! It can help the teacher's work in classroom, allowing to share the sketching activity with students!!!

Hello Martin thanks for sharing the updates. A lot of community members were expecting your valuable latest information on CMYK support for printing.
What questions would you like answered?
@@doctormo
Inkscape uses RGB and is unable to save/ print in CMYK . Is anyone currently working to add this feature in future releases?

INKSCAPE IS UNDERRATEDDDDDDD THE SOFTWARE IS JUST OUT OF THIS WORLD !!!
Nice video Martin!
It would be very cool to have a collaborative Inkscape! Would be very useful for teaching I'm guessing.

@doctormo I wish I'd kept up with Python over the years because this would be fun to work on!
nice work

No, Inkscape can not make interactive PDF files at this moment. Does LibreOffice support this yet?

Will 1.4 have fixed an issue when Pen Tablet (e.g. Wacom) is plugged in when on Weyland session and Inkscape just crash on start? :)
If you report it inkscape.org/report but can't promise anything. I'm hoping I'll be allowed to work on bug fixing for 1.4, but I've heard no news yet.

Need This feature "Paste on all artboard", Please make it.
We don't really have artboards yet. Though we do have a "past on page" which should get you most of the way there.
i am taking about like copy something and paste all pages in same parameter.@@doctormo
