[TAS] NES Contra 1 Player in

- Well I think it's safe to say that this is officially OBSOLETE. Took me 3 days to TAS this and now I know why no one wanted to take on this project.
Ledge skips can NOT be performed on an emulator. DK28 was absolutely right. He tried it and it did not work. So with that being said I think this 9:47.33 1P tas is it! (SDA Timing 9:47.33) (9:51 TAS timing)
And I did this with a crappy Global Timer in Energy Zone with the fire flames. HOWEVER!!! The leap of faith CAN be manipulated. (I think) Also the Global Timer for this game is so sporadic that even one input difference per frame can change it dramaticly. It took me over an hour just to get the Energy Zone boss fight completed.
Anyways, I hope you all like it!

Summoning salt brought me here
yes
also notice I did not do one single ledge skip in waterfall stage with this tas! that would save even more time! just goes to show that a 9:42 time is looking more and more doable!
yes
@@djs08 I'm actually planning on returning to gameboy contra here at some point soon to reclaim my any% WR which FCJ2000 took from me earlier on this year. he didn't beat it by much but I do plan on pushing it for the last bit of time that's left in it. which isn't much. it's almost purely optimized until newer strats are found but I think a really low 11:21 or a high 11:20 is def doable.
@@TheMechanicalKoopa wait so does that mean you are going to make a new tas?
like, this is not much faster than a speedrun.
oh I know I Was only doing it to see how much more time could be knocked off of the run. in the must faster TAS that's out there it was double inputted and all the cores in the base stages were killed with just 4 strikes instead of 8. The bosses were done in the same fashion.
I was able to beat Genistro's TAS time without double-inputs (9:33.5 vs 9:34.12). If I could learn how to do that, I think I could push it to 9:30. :p
5:46 that's not the bullets, thats the truck screaming in agony.
Bro seriously who on what earth would thumbs down a classic. Man my dad and whoever, played like strategists, like its the last play in the superbowl.
thanks Fice
The fact that Angrylanks is just behind 1 second of this run, boggles the mind.
agreed! also keep in mind this tas run I did doesn't do ANY ledge skips at all. I omitted them just for the sake to seeing what the time would have been without them. So that's another 2 seconds that can get knocked off this time if I were to add them in.
In my opinion, this one is done with auto fire which helps you shoot faster and more precisely. Keep in mind that all AngryLanks did was with his barehand.
I do not deny the skill of the video's owner which is insance, actually. However, since it's helped with a third party program, you can not compare and say that AngryLanks is slower.
Thats some really sick gameplay AWESOME STUFF! =)
One of the hardest intro’s ever!
This is how I used to beat the game with my MAX controller!
Jump like a kangaroo.
LoL Video Fac
Really Awesome Work! :D
Parabéns. Obrigado pelo vídeo!!!!
A qualquer hora meu amigo
Соьтмт,
Have you updated this tas?
I haven't it's been a while since I've done any tasing at all.
WTF!
Great run!! Still enjoying in 2020.
Back when great games were made by a dozen people or so for a budget of a couple hundred bucks.
There's some hack behind this. How bosses are destroyed with few shots?
you don't understand what TAS mean ?
@@-Asmae_ No i don't knoa what TAS means, enlighten me
@@MrRazaisbest TAS is a tool-assisted speedrun which is a bot takes pre programmed controller inputs to make theoretically perfect playthrough as like this one.
@@-Asmae_ Okay bro thanks..
Why sometimes you have machine gun others have spreader without changing
in this run since I used a tas editor I made sure the firing was one frame on one frame off to ensure perfect spread rhythm throughout the base stages the only time I picked up machine gun was in level 1. but didn't have it for very long at all
Professional player...
This game is a real classic to me**
took me forever to beat it without using the Konami code. I think this game still holds up even to todays standards of retro classic 8 bit games!
At 4:33 could have saved a few seconds by not dying eight times in a row
Hack đạn ah
Hack
Hack
Nope.
The title of the video begins with "[TAS]". You know what that means?
