Aaa I did it! Some parts were really rushed and way different from what I wanted it to be. I'm still happy I managed to finish it up. Can't believe I did this just in a month? That's a new record for me. The first time I heard this song, I immediately thought of my original character, Lucian. So I knew, I had to do it. I've been in an animation burnout for months, and it sucks to feel that way. This contest really helped me to get back on animating again!
About the video, there's a lot of stuffs going on in here tbh. It's full of symbolisms and such...and even foreshadowing. This showed a little bit of Lucian's backstory at the beginning! Lucian was a former circus performer in his younger days, along with his "friends/co-workers"...it didn't end well. Got any theories? Leave a comment below!

Can I just take a moment to talk about how genius the animation pacing is? The slow pace to sudden fast movements and smears is so unsettling in such a cool way, it’s absolutely brilliant. Well done!

Similar to some kind of dreams starting as 'calm' and weird, which later will turn wild, fast-paced and a lot of things happening at once, which I personally experienced several times in my sleep. holy SHIT THE DYNAMISM HERE IS INSANE! It's rare to find detailed styles that ALSO have this level of movement, usually it's one or the other. Each movement going RIGHT in place with the frenetic rythmn of the song is super satisfying for me. Best examples being; 00:35- 00:40 (and the whole running sequence even which is my favorite part) and 00:46 to 00:51 Heck the whole damn video goes in-sync, at the start when it's all slow, the subtle momevents and the smoke coming out of their mouth still matches, like what the fuc k. Of course it is pretty common to see that in animation memes, but this has like wayyy more subtleties than your usual animation meme
You gotta be a runner up AT WORST, I swear i'm gonna *riot* if you dont show up in that video in any shape or form. I replayed this wayy too much... The designs are also top tier. Man...

Theory time lets go (THIS IS ONLY MENTIONING STUFF THAT IS SHOWN IN THE VIDEO)
At the start, we see Lucian smoke. Maybe developed a smoking addiction to cope with stress, or trauma that has recently appeared into his life, or that has already happened, and came back to him. As you said, he used to be a circus performer. Now, *used to be* will be our keywords here, so keep them in mind. We see the brown haired lady in the audience chairs with a bunch of other clown mascots. Presumabley his co-workers with the clown masks, and his boss or CEO of some sorts being the lady with brown hair. We see her holding a puppet string holder, which means she only sees these people as puppets for her company. The one she's specifically holding with the strings is a puppet version of Lucian I'm guessing. With the similar hair colors, and some sort of similar outfit (my eyes also might just be blind lol). As she laughs, Lucian seems frustrated, mad of the sorts as well. It also just adds more onto she only sees these people as puppets. Next major thing, we see her snap, which puts a collar onto Lucian. This could symbolize he was her main "pet" if you will, her main puppet. We see her holding a collar and leash, also adding onto the theory that she sees him as a pet, and nothing else. Lucian seems terrified of her, and as anyone would, runs away. We see him pass by many co-workers, dressed in certain circus performer attires. The words "my fault" is all over the walls, symbolizing he must have done something to one, or all, of these co-workers of his. They all seem disgusted and ovulated at Lucian, also showing that whatever he has done, isn't forgivable. The only one who isn't disgusted is the person at the end, who Lucian immediately draws his attention to as he sees them. He seems shocked, and as he turns to the person, they start to cry. Maybe whoever he hurt was really close to them? That is what I am guessing here. They are shut away with circus curtains, then we cut to the CEO/boss, who is in a room full of wine glasses and champagne glasses, maybe showing she loves to drink. Wine is also symbolized as sinful from some Greek gods, or other gods of sorts. This wine, is red, which red usually ties down to evil and sinful, same with the champagne glasses. The CEO is probably the reason that this person is cut away from Lucian, as she's the one who closes the circus curtains. She's probably the one who tuggged the person away from Lucian. After all his running, Lucian flops to the ground, and the background shatters. This maybe symbolizes that he broke someone's trust, heart, or something else of the matter. Now he's wearing different attire, from what I can see, it's ruby's on his jewelry or maybe some other red gem. That may just be lighting as well, but it seems to be red. Then it pans to a bunch of mirrors with someone else in them. When Lucian turns around to look into the mirror, the person looks back at them, with a glare of anger as well. Lucian is now in a flower field, full of red flowers, maybe red roses, that are all dead, and withered out. Dead red roses usually means someone has died, or is dying. A dead looking man offers a fresh pink rose, which symbolizes love and trust usually. Lucian seems angry that the man even offered him it, and squeezes his hand. Whoever the man is, Lucian must know. We cut to the same pink rose bloody, as Lucian seems to be crazy, and bloodied as well. Lucian turns to the camera, giving a big grin. We pan down, to the CEO's dead body (or who I am guessing is the CEO). I would also like to mention that Lucian's eyes turn from blue, to red. Blue is usually symbolized as pure, innocent. Back to red, it's meant to be sinful and evil. This may show that he has turned evil and sinful due to the CEO, or more. This also shows he might have snapped, and attacked and killed his CEO/boss out of rage. All the pain she's caused him, finally was out in the forms of actions. The bloody written x at the end also may symbolize that she was finally eliminated, out of his life. Knowing all this, let's go back to the dead looking man that age him the rose. This dead man must have been someone that Lucian was close to, as I mentioned, but Lucian doesn't seem like he killed this man. It must have been the CEO, or someone else abusive in his life. It is also a possibility the man killed himself, probably in the same situation Lucian WAS in. Behind the patreon link, we can see the same crown Lucian wore in the mirror scene. This crown might've been special to someone, as this looks like a house, or close knitted job office of some sort.

Yooo! Interesting take 🤔 I'll be confirming and correcting some points but won't go in details. Yes! Lucian did develop an addiction to smoking due to his trauma that's been haunting him at some point of his life. Yes, he used to be a circus performer back in his 20s which was shown at some parts in the video. There are actually different timelines in the whole animation, so keep an eye to that.
The woman was actually purple haired not brown, her name is Odelia! She wasn't really the circus boss but still a very important person to some extent. Lucian's boss (now former) was actually among the audiences wearing clown masks. You will guess who immediately ;) Fairly, Odelia does sees people lower than her as her 'puppets' or 'pets', and Lucian was one of it. So yep, you got some key concepts right about that, not quite exact, but still similar! I also like your take on wine glasses and roses symbolisms!
The white haired man at the mirror scene is named Egon. He's an another major character in the story in general, and also has strong connections to Lucian's story. You can see more of him to my other videos. This dude is pretty much alive and kicking lol. When he gave Lucian a rose, Lucian actually held his hand out of desperation and not by anger. Hope this clears some stuffs!
Since you've mentioned something about the "My Fault" part.The real question is if Lucian really did something unforgivable to these people from his past to be blamed like that or was it an another reason..

This is my first theory so forgive me if it's bad
Lucian was a former circus performer and this amv could be talking about potential work manipulation/abuse. In the scene where Lucian was being watched on stage, there are higher ups with masks except for the lady in the middle in the audience seats. I assume this is the main lady boss in charge of the circus who is known to use employees for personal uses/manipulation due to the power dynamic. This is a reference to Lucian wearing a collar while the main lady boss is holding a leash similar to a dog's owner and their pet. Lucian noticed the early sign and decided to run away from work, there are words in his point of view shown as he ran away from the higher-ups. "My Fault" "Your Fault" This means the self blame and the higher-ups potentially blaming Lucian for the work situation. The pink hair higher-up is the only one wearing a sad mask and crying while turning her back as she saw Lucian run away. She felt bad and probably disagreed with the work ethic however she has no choice but to comply since she could risk losing her job. Lucian was trying to escape the situation and this caught Egon's attention which made them meet each other. Egon gave Lucian a light lavender rose which means a sense of mystery and enhancement along with privilege and exclusivity. The scene cuts to Lucian holding a darker purple rose which represents the victorious and glorious he felt after taking revenge on the main lady boss by killing her.

Here’s a little bit of a theory ok ok so at 1:09 we see this person form the dummy meme they could been the circus performer before Lucian we also see a jewellery that seems to be a jewellery that Lucian wears and then we see a painting of Lucian having a lighter in his hands in front of his face burning the painting off is face he’s looks depressed this must be before he murder odelia he must have been abused by her also at 0:20 i see alcohol in the background so he’s been also drinking and smoking bc as you confirm he as smoking addiction bc of trauma he’s gotten and then we see Lucian smiling with fire but I notice that he has a red eye and purple but in the thumbnail for like a god meme his eyes are red and since he probably got drunk cuz he probably had alcohol in his room he must have abused his son bc in like a god meme we see Luca looked afraid of Lucian and his did change colour so possibly his eye changes colour when he gets a different emotion then we see Luca shocked about something I have a feeling that Lucian went viral on the new or Luca just went in his room and just well saw blood then 1:19 we see a woman this must be Lucian wife cuz we also Luca there like a sort thing where you take a photo of ur family and you put it on the same wall then we see an purple eye it obvious that its egon eye and here’s what I notice odelia eyes are blue but then at 0:39 her eyes are pink with hearts on them I have that feeling he was sexual abused by her as well at 0:54 egon l believe hands out at white rose.
