A Conversation with Stephen King

- Promoting his collection “Full Dark, No Stars” the #1 New York Times bestselling author and living legend, Stephen King, takes part in a "live" conversation in the Stephen King interview you always wanted but never knew existed until now-in his home, surrounded by Stephen King novels, wearing a darkly humorous shirt. The extensive conversation covers everything from the Red Sox, to King's children, to, of course, the four novellas that comprise “Full Dark, No Stars”, Like all Stephen King books and stories, these four are disturbing but totally enthralling, each of them touching on a central theme of retribution.
What this Stephen King interview doesn't mention (because it is from 2008) is that one of the novellas "1922" is now a Netflix original film. But despite that missing plug, both this exclusive conversation and his book, “Full Dark, No Stars”, are worth consuming. To do so, visit: www.simonandsc...
I love this man so much!!!!!
Loved Full dark, no stars. One of his best.
He never got the respect he properly deserved / deserves from so called intellectuals. brilliant writer and an engaging person. thank you for posting that. ;)
He's so sweet! Just finished reading 'Salem's Lot' and loved it!!
I saw Mr. King in Mckinney, TX last October, and he was awesome! You would think he would get tired of talking to an audience, but he seemed to enjoy being there. And I smiled the entire 90 minutes.
Love the interview. Just hearing him answer questions is always entertaining. Knowing that he's at the end of his life, it's good knowing that he's still doing interviews and q&a's. Of course this is over 10 years old now. Apparently from 2008. What a time.
I cant wait for his next book
How Stephen King interviews don't get more views is beyond me
Very good interview.I love when he answers to fans/constant readers directly, may it be via internet, radio or in a large room or library....He's always funny, at ease, and he can't prepare the answers and that's just great ! Listening to him is as almost as huge as reading him .
The production value of this Simon Schuster video is out of this world! The editing...particularly the first 40 seconds...is first class!
Full Dark, No Stars is an awesome book!
Favorite writer. He is awesome.
Stephen King is so creative, it's amazing. Not to mention, what a cool guy. Plus a kickass taste in music. You just have to respect his brilliance. He scares the shit out of me.
Wish I could get my dark tower novels signed. You are my hero, got me through some tough times. love your work. You are a master of your craft.
Love the shirt. Glad he made it a point at the start to tell us what it said, cuz I was sure curious!
I love you MR. King. I salute you from Mexico!!!
i'm reading under the dome atm and loving it. it's one sumptuous epic, takes me back to when i was a kid reading 'it', the first adult book i read cover to cover
He's wonderfull! He seems so down to earth and sweet. I really think he would have been a great teacher.
A friend is watching 1922. It reminded me that Mr King chose to answer my question. This was an amazing evening. I bought the tee he is wearing to commemorate it. I’ve since started a podcast. Worked to help find answers in my friend’s murder. I wonder where everyone else is that shared this amazing moment with Stephen King? The world has changed but his books bind us all. My question is at 9:49.
My #1 favorite author in the entire known universe.
Stephen king introduced me to hp Lovecraft, the grateful dead, ray Bradbury, the trash can man , castle rock Maine, horrid clowns, blue oyster cult.and gave me many scarey dreams.
The greatest author since dickens. He is a legend.
A true writer, in every sense of the word. Sure he could have probably been a decent insurance agent or whatever but I CAN'T IMAGINE him BEING anything else. LEGEND.
Okay, I am just gonna throw this out there. I have noticed over and over again now that King mentions Lord of the Flies more frequently over any other book. It must be his faovurite book ever. He just seems to adore it.
I have wicked dreams simular to some of Stephen Kings short stories, wish I could write them out like he does though. Love Him.. and as with fardaypu, he's introduced Me to all kinds of writers, horrors and worlds. I second it, the man is brilliant!
stephen king is da best! i fuckin LOVE him!!!
9.45...that snicker; he's so bad! Totally made my day~
one of my favorite lines .
If they are going to make him sit there, at least give him a comfortable chair. Think what you will of his writing, but the guy remembers his own work.
@Zombiecrush75 - I'd smile for the next few years after seeing that awesome person live! Lucky!
@TheDepsey king actually was a teacher! before Carrie was published, he taught high school and college English classes in Maine
That shirt. Goddamn it, I love this man.
I wish I had his stamina. I understand everything else he does but his stamina blows me away. I respect stamina in artist above all else.
I love his t-shirt
Stephen King, ....you rule! Consider a story with Clive Barker and Dean Koontz.
The first chapeter would be yours, second goes to Clive and the third for Dean. Repeat until done. Like the great Bill Hicks tells us " Merge".
Starts at 00:43
"Good Marriage" would make an excellent movie. And if he wrote the screenplay it might actually turn out well unlike some of the other adaptions haha
Almost 11 years ago. Long time ago.
Nice shirt Steve
The audio was too low. :(
No wait, just got it.
My cue to watch the video before reading the comments.
The shirt says it all.
@TheDepsey hes down to earth because almost everybody from maine is down to earth :)
and he was a teacher for a long time at university of maine orono until his book "carie" became a success and he quit his job teaching english there to become a full time author.
Whilst You We're on "STEVE LEAVE" I was getting Awfully Heckled with the "Stefan" pronunciation! What the Hell?! You're supposed to be Our King!!
@richfranklin45 - Christine!!!!!!! Can't get tired of it!
@TheDepsey He actually was an English teacher! :)
@dantedraco I just got to Big Driver! 1922 was great!
The only thing I have against Stephen King is that he's a Red Sox fan and a NYY hater. I watched that 2004 World Series, and being a staunch NYY fan I cried!
i want his shirt..where did he get it.
let me start off by saying i was the type of kid that use to put the book down but i was such a fan of your movies i had to read one of your books so i read green mile and have read more since ....heres my question my favorite movie is The Stand what is yours ?
I demand that he teach Me writing! lol. No, I really do. He's a genius.
where can I get that poster in the backround?
lmao at the first 40 seconds
So, he made your life become full of awesome?
Stephen King as a cop would be awesome.
"Why don't you go to bed and shut up for a while" lolz
I almost always like his stories. Even if I don't always care for the concept or message, they're always entertaining. But "Full Dark, No Stars" seems like it was commissioned and sponsored by the fucking lifetime channel! It should have come with a the subtitle "Men Are Evil".
Full Dark, No Stars: Men Are Evil
The audio volume sucks
Yes.
The laughing at 9:46 is funny scary
The Devil is a fair trader. But always read the fine print.
the shitshank redemption
The long walk ?
Little accident is an understatement.
8:45
Who do you like to read?
I like to hoard books. Hmm, I never thought about reading them.

Joseph Campbell Steve.
I like edger alen poe
Yeah, he wrote a lot of Edgar Allan Poetry didn't he.
...it's not stamina it's undistracted focus of attention!
Exactly the same thing 😂
Is my sight going to shit or is this video blurry?
Someone needs to put elevator music on the first 40 seconds...
Nobody will ever pronounce Stephen's name properly. Not even himself.
@JTurden t-shirt hell.com
I wish I could ask him, what book he would like prisoners in jail read of his.
Fuck everything else, I just want to know what his shirt says.
Uvika W This is old but it says "You can't have manslaughter without laughter"
Really? This is an easy one.
Who are you talking to? Weird.
