He never got the respect he properly deserved / deserves from so called intellectuals. brilliant writer and an engaging person. thank you for posting that. ;)
I saw Mr. King in Mckinney, TX last October, and he was awesome! You would think he would get tired of talking to an audience, but he seemed to enjoy being there. And I smiled the entire 90 minutes.
Love the interview. Just hearing him answer questions is always entertaining. Knowing that he's at the end of his life, it's good knowing that he's still doing interviews and q&a's. Of course this is over 10 years old now. Apparently from 2008. What a time.
Stephen King is so creative, it's amazing. Not to mention, what a cool guy. Plus a kickass taste in music. You just have to respect his brilliance. He scares the shit out of me.
Very good interview.I love when he answers to fans/constant readers directly, may it be via internet, radio or in a large room or library....He's always funny, at ease, and he can't prepare the answers and that's just great ! Listening to him is as almost as huge as reading him .
i'm reading under the dome atm and loving it. it's one sumptuous epic, takes me back to when i was a kid reading 'it', the first adult book i read cover to cover
A true writer, in every sense of the word. Sure he could have probably been a decent insurance agent or whatever but I CAN'T IMAGINE him BEING anything else. LEGEND.
A friend is watching 1922. It reminded me that Mr King chose to answer my question. This was an amazing evening. I bought the tee he is wearing to commemorate it. I’ve since started a podcast. Worked to help find answers in my friend’s murder. I wonder where everyone else is that shared this amazing moment with Stephen King? The world has changed but his books bind us all. My question is at 9:49.
Stephen king introduced me to hp Lovecraft, the grateful dead, ray Bradbury, the trash can man , castle rock Maine, horrid clowns, blue oyster cult.and gave me many scarey dreams.
Okay, I am just gonna throw this out there. I have noticed over and over again now that King mentions Lord of the Flies more frequently over any other book. It must be his faovurite book ever. He just seems to adore it.
If they are going to make him sit there, at least give him a comfortable chair. Think what you will of his writing, but the guy remembers his own work.
I have wicked dreams simular to some of Stephen Kings short stories, wish I could write them out like he does though. Love Him.. and as with fardaypu, he's introduced Me to all kinds of writers, horrors and worlds. I second it, the man is brilliant!
Stephen King, ....you rule! Consider a story with Clive Barker and Dean Koontz. The first chapeter would be yours, second goes to Clive and the third for Dean. Repeat until done. Like the great Bill Hicks tells us " Merge".
let me start off by saying i was the type of kid that use to put the book down but i was such a fan of your movies i had to read one of your books so i read green mile and have read more since ....heres my question my favorite movie is The Stand what is yours ?
@TheDepsey hes down to earth because almost everybody from maine is down to earth :) and he was a teacher for a long time at university of maine orono until his book "carie" became a success and he quit his job teaching english there to become a full time author.
The only thing I have against Stephen King is that he's a Red Sox fan and a NYY hater. I watched that 2004 World Series, and being a staunch NYY fan I cried!
I almost always like his stories. Even if I don't always care for the concept or message, they're always entertaining. But "Full Dark, No Stars" seems like it was commissioned and sponsored by the fucking lifetime channel! It should have come with a the subtitle "Men Are Evil". Full Dark, No Stars: Men Are Evil
I love this man so much!!!!!
Loved Full dark, no stars. One of his best.
He never got the respect he properly deserved / deserves from so called intellectuals. brilliant writer and an engaging person. thank you for posting that. ;)
He's so sweet! Just finished reading 'Salem's Lot' and loved it!!

Full Dark, No Stars is an awesome book!

The production value of this Simon Schuster video is out of this world! The editing...particularly the first 40 seconds...is first class!
How Stephen King interviews don't get more views is beyond me

@TheDepsey king actually was a teacher! before Carrie was published, he taught high school and college English classes in Maine
"Good Marriage" would make an excellent movie. And if he wrote the screenplay it might actually turn out well unlike some of the other adaptions haha
