I read most of his novels in my child to teenage years. The idea that all his works are interconnected is easy to pick up on but the sheer depth is the the connections are often understated. I picked up on so much through this video. Thanks.

So on the Agathat Christie thing, Poirot and Marple never meet themselves but there are multiple side characters that appear on both of their books, and even books that don't feature Poirot or Miss Marple, as well as towns that are featured in several different books, so the vast majority of Christie's mystery novels are actually taking place within the same universe.

They never met themselves? How sad that such great detectives lived unexamined lives. They could solve any mystery because they were desperately trying to figure out who they were on the inside.

I don’t know how I didn’t see this video before. This interview is fascinating, and I love how it’s organized and you asked so many great questions. It’s such a treat for someone like me who will probably never read The Dark Tower series, or all of Kings novels for that matter, but getting to hear all the cool inside details to his world. Thank you so much for this.

And I'm not saying he's wrong on the first ever connection that was made in kings multiverse, he said it was the dead zone. I remember reading the short story "The Mangler" in Night Shift (which came out before the dead zone) and Carrie's Mother (It's been a long time since I've read it) was in that story in the laundry mat. I had just read Carrie before deciding to read some stories in Night Shift and I strongly remember her being in that story.

I agree. Funk does this a lot when he brings on quest. Example when he had Edward lorn on last year he hardly let him get a word out and interrupted him a lot. Funk isn’t really an interviewer though so I let him make it 🤷🏻‍♂️

I was excited to find this, and I am bored, the dude doesn't know what he is talking about... and I am so bored I am reading the comments and I am not alone. Before you do this, please read a few book dude. I have read these book growing up like real fans and I don't know how many I read, but a lot, and when he said he was gonna write this series, I was excited and started to read more books that was inspired him that I know now have connections. Dude there is so many things that connect, if you have been reading for decades, and checking out the other books he has written by other names. This his world he created. I understand, I am a freelance Writer and Illustrator and these stories will take you away to other worlds of who knows what but you are gonna go for a crazy batshit world, and things will connect, if you have imagination. wow I read all the books from this series, and the mini books and all other things to boost sales, but, but, the last book.. yes I am half way through the last book, that was 2017 and that is when my world was batshitcrazy and I heard about the tv series maybe and then maybe a movie, so I try and not pay attention so it doesn't give it away. So instead of getting another last book and rereading it and finishing, no I am stupid and watch a free UA-cam movie. So first of all did anyone read these books who picked the characters and nothing will make connections the way they did this, no wonder the real fans were pissed. I agree. I know from the past, King don't care about any of the tv or movie details, as long as he got to have a quick moment in each. yes if you are a true fan you know he appears in all. But he did care about this series. This was and is his life passions in one. I got to get the book Bye.

As someone who's read everything King (until dark tower's... conclusion),
These books are NOT connected in any meaningful way, other than shared names and places etc.
There is no UBER plot or purpose other than to make superficial ties to other tales.
If Insomnia (and it's 'relation' DT 7) didn't make that clear, then Flagg should. His GODAWFUL DT appearances were more akin to fan fiction than to a meaningful role. Walter and Man in Black were amazing characters... until cheapened by Flagg. King failed to make the huge amazing ending or tie ins with other characters. It was rushed, lazy and not worthy of the preceding books.

On leaving King said to my grandfather that he didn’t care, he was writing book and that would pay his wages in future. My grandfather laughed at him. When King became famous my grandfather was so annoyed he threw himself into a wood chipper and was splattered all over his garden.
