    I love hearing Artie's stories -- they're hilarious, and he tells them well -- I just can't believe (more than) half of them.

    Artie rules. He used to kill it on The Howard Stern Show when there. He has such a quick, funny sense of humor. He was ale to shoot from the hip with the most funny comments.

    if howard doesnt do an interview with artie before he retires, he is making a mistake.

      +THEBROWNSTAIN he will eventually. you gotta remember we dont know what all had happened between them. heroin addicts tend to forget stuff and artie maybe has had extremely (im sure he had) fuights with howard in private of course. maybe thats why howard split for this long time.

      +todd0000420 I agree completely, but he won't. It just isn't gonna happen. I think Howard has it in his head that even having him on for 2 minutes will make him relapse or something. Any time a caller DARES ask Howard about Artie he yells at them and just gives a standard "I love Artie and wish him the best" answer. It's really unfortunate and harsh on Howard's end, but I'd be surprised if Howard even mentions him on his last show while giving his goodbye speech.

    Artie is always entertaining. There are so many standup comedians who are way better than him, but still, for some reason, I would prefer listening to Artie over all of them. There is something very unique about the way he talks!

    What I love about Artie's comedy is the reality of it. Little comments he makes are deeply funny to me. Maybe I'm simple. For example, the deadhead taxi driver, the maid story, or how he couldn't sleep because of the smoke detector light and he covered it with some gum. Stupid shit but hilarious to me because Artie knows it's funny, or knows how to tell the story in a funny way.

    Not only don't I listen to Stern anymore - I'm good on Gwenyth Paltrow interviews thanks - but it's depressing even going back and listening to the show when it was good, just knowing what became of it. I personally liked the Artie years, at least the early ones, the best, though I appreciate the Jackie years more and more - but you can't even really enjoy Howard pounding on various celeb twits when you know he's gonna be lathering their asses in 10 years.
    And there's really no excuse for it. Howard's rap seems to be that he's matured in psychotherapy and no longer has to hate everybody - well, guess what. Some people NEED to be taken down a notch or 50. He used to perform that vital service; now he's merely another tongue wedged up their rectums. We can go literally ANYWHERE else for the Jen Anniston fluff interview.

    • @MrFartboy79
      @MrFartboy79 7 років тому +4

      Really?! I thought he was a perfect fit on the Stern show. Artie was/is the "everyman" (at least in a North-East USA kinda way). He was from Jersey, was once a longshoreman, a cabbie and worked construction with his Dad... was out of shape, ate crap junkfood, didn't care about his appearance and loved to party. He had demons and would share that with the audience. At a time when Stern and Robin were really letting their celebrity status shine through on the show (what choice did they have, they were huge stars) Artie kept the show grounded and relatable to normal people. Plus he was hilarious and just a great foil to Howard and the comedians that were guests on the show. I've never been a fan of his standup, but Artie was quick and funny as hell on the Stern show. Just my opinion though. The Artie years were my favorite years.
