I really liked this review. Short and concise without being shallow! Definately earned a sub :-)
Thanks for the sub, and glad you like the format!
InstaBlaster...
Just dropped for XBox Pass. Thanks for the review. It's pretty mellow.
Find it odd you dont have a larger following, good voice for reviews, enough details and hits both the positives and negatives.
The two year break we took probably doesn't help!
Thanks for the great comments, glad you liked the review
This is exactly what i needed. Just a chill building game. With no armor or weapons stuff and if i mismanage something, i can look and fix my mistake, instead of having to worry to make multiple saves and load one after a „game over“.
I like the idea of banished, but it just wasnt for me.
I like this game and i am really glad i was able to play it via game pass on my xbox. I will probably get it on steam as well, because the controls are likely much better ^^
Aye, if thats the sort of game you're after, can't really think of one that does it better than this
Deffo better with a KB/M than a controller, if only for making it easier to select things
Great review - concise yet detailed. And the game seems pretty interesting as well.
Thanks for the feedback, we're glad you enjoyed it :)
Great review. Short, simple, and straight-forward. That said, for $20, I may just pick this up. If it was $10 or $15 I would definitely, but for $20 I'm still a bit on the edge.
Thanks for the feedback! If you're on the fence with this, we'd suggest maybe waiting until the summer sales hit, as it will likely drop to around $10 then. We typically go by the mantra "£1 per hour of decent gameplay" with games we score near the 7 mark, so if it hits $10 we would say go ahead if you like the look of it.
Epic’s sale just started and you can use the unlimited $10 coupon to get this for $10.
It's on game pass now
Perfect Review, nice and short and no blah blah.
Thanks for the positive feedback! It's a format we're thinking of sticking to with our reviews; focus on the key points and keep it around 6 minutes.
Theres a healthy amount of cheap nice looking games out there at the moment :) great to burn a few hours away but unlikely to replay often if ever
This is a very fair comment; We have a (rough) mantra of "at least 1 hour enjoyable gameplay per £1 paid and it's worth the price" and there are plenty of games on steam etc that meet that criteria!
(side note, you should see Adam's steam library - it's rediculous!)
I have one question: How did they manage to use hexagons only to form a sphere?
....
.............
space gerbils?
Just a guess, note how the view is always a globe. In contrast in Civ you have a "flat" view. That might be the reason.
There is usually some pentagons in the poles, Rimworld use this for the map, if you're interested in the geometric shape you might want to look up icosahedron (and the subdivised variations)
metallic molecular bonds are hexagonal, so you can make a sphere from enough hexagons.
Nice review. Like a short and concise 4x. Found your channel through it :)
Glad you liked it!
this game looks so fun!
devs:
-yo we need to add to our non-violance some enemy bcs its gonna be boring
-yeah
-so what we gonna add?
-big ass whales
-say no more
was a real "wtf" moment the first time one came down!
With the current Epic sale going on i might get it.
Another commenter mentioned you can use the forever valid £10 off voucher? For £6 its a good buy.. At £16, we'd say it depends on the person to be honest!
Thank you for this great review.
cheers for the kind words :)
Great review, not waffley or too long.
Thanks! That's what we were trying to aim for, so glad to know it came out as intended :)
God this game is so nice!
Does anyone else think about Spore's civilization stage?
So much this!
Seems like they could develop the game a bit further, to add depth into it.
Its their first outing, so it could go either way really depending on their workforce. Further iteration would be good though!
Thanks, saved me 20 bucks, I was considering buying this because I thought it would have a lot of depth and have a lot for me to manage and expand unfortunately the game was more simple than what I thought
We were thinking the same! It definately feels like a "my first civ builder", although that's not a negative as some people will like that.
Buuuuut as the sort of masochists who spend hours in banished, it feels underwhelming
It's out on gamepass now- Might as welell give it a try
Good review
What are your faves in the genre?
Thank a lot! Very good review. Simple and good.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hey, nice review :) i was looking exactly for a game like this one, not too complicated as the other of the same genre, i m not a patient guy🤣🤣
i wouldn't say others in the genre require patience... although a propensity for masochism is certainly a must!
But aye, is a good game to relax with :)
Waiting for Steam release :)
alas, we don't know if and when that will happen. Fingers crossed for you that it does!
Fingers crossed! Looks like a game for me 🤗
why? do you like drm so much :?
@ Bcs my Epic acc is absolutely bloated with 50+ free games I don't care 5c about and have no value as with Steam, all my games are there bcs I wanted to play them at some point. Most of them I return to.
@@PureofMindGw2 bloated? omg
I mean I wanna play it, but dunno how interesting it is.
We'd suggest maybe checking out some lets plays to get more of a feel for it.
From our playthrough, each of us found it to be about as engaging as any other basic world builder :)
Good Review, thx bud
Glad you think so :)
Spacewhales, what's not to like?
If you don't like space whales, are you even human?
Is it possible to turn off the outlines around each tile?
Hey, we didn't see that as an option anywhere so don't believe so!
Are there accessibility options where you can enlarge the UI scale/font sizes? I have low vision, but am interested in checking out this game, don't want to commit to buying it if I can't read anything in it though. Thank you in advance to anyone who answers!
Hey, just checked and there are some accessibility options available, including the UI scale. With that said, it doesn't go much larger.
Heres a side by side with it at 100%, and 110% (the maximum) imgur.com/a/EgLZ8TG
it's at 1080p, so should be representative of what you'd actually see if you right click the image and open it in a new tab, then click to zoom in :)
@@WeSmallBand thank you for the thorough response!
Don't mention it :)
Any other questions, don't hesitate to ask!
Use the switches mag option by double quick tapping the home button, a new screen appears where you can adjust the mag level and move the screen around,it's a PAIN to use,but gets the job done.
I haven't purchased this yet, but I'm already anticipating a "better clouds" mod.
Alas, no mods we've seen crop up for it
thanks, I think I will get this game :D
Anytime. Hope you enjoy :)
@@WeSmallBand ^_^
Sounds like a more human-centric version of Spore :p
Funny you say that - the first time he got into space that's what Sean thought too!
Reviews last year for a game that won't even be released until next month? I'm confused...
Think you're probably looking at the steam release date. it came out as an epic exclusive a while back :)
turned my gpu into a helicopter
On gamepass now
Give me Civ 1 or Civ Rev for Switch.
This is a great video but your intro definitely needs to be redone haha
It's been refined somewhat since this video was made :D
@@WeSmallBand Great! You definitely convinced me to buy this game, keep up the great content
we shall try :D
Glad I have xbox gamepass so I dont have to commit to these kinds of games
As crappy as having a thousand and one subscription services companies want us to pay for these days is, gamepass is certainly one of the better ones for that reason
@@WeSmallBand Yeah. Can sus out the stinkers.
that is kind of a dumb comment, you should support the developers if you like it
@@SuperHns I didn't like it though.
This is only on Epic? What a shame, I wanted to play this.
indeed it is, although it may not stay there! keep an eye out to see if it goes steam or GOG
then just download epic and grow up abit.
and if you go on there now and get free civ6 and borderlands etc you get a £10 voucher so you can get this game for £3
Epic is great. Well, at least here in Israel where everything costs more on Steam but exactly the same on Epic. Also, they give free stuff every week.
Has come out on Steam, some time ago. In case you didn't notice that already.
The only thing this games needs now is a WAR update
fighting in a game could be so cool
Combat would take away from the overall feeling of the game to be honest, so it's unlikely to be on the cards!
@@WeSmallBand yes i get that !!
Just .. would have wished for like a Multiplayer with combat.. so you like Take over the other planets..
could just be fun and it will make people buy the game more because.. they can play with friends
Ah, you're thinking something more in the realms of 4X games; civilisation builders are a different style altogether. An interplanatery 4X (like civ meets stelaris) would be amazing though!
@@WeSmallBand yeah they could make it like a DLC !!
a free or a payed one..
could be cool
@@bary_is_cool There is Planetary annihilation that focus on planetary warfare already. The devs specifically promote this game as non violent on the store page.
too long video and very very booring ... with ridiculous tips and move mouse w a s d ... etc
If this were a tips and tricks video, you'd be totally right, that would be a terrible tip!
5 mins too long for a review? Sadly, that's how long it takes to speak the words. Still shorter than most ;)
