Parachute Malfunction -Helicopter Rescue - AZ DPS Air Rescue

AZ DPS Air Rescue responded to the Superstition Mountains for a base jumper who's parachute malfunctioned. The base jumper was slammed back into the cliff after deploying his chute and snagged a small rock that prevented him from falling hundreds of feet. AZ DPS used a Bell 429 helicopter and hoist to rescue the subject. Over 260 feet of cable was let out on the hoist for the helicopter to get close enough to the cliff wall to preform a successful rescue.
