Neither. You can just design and build your own. I did... and I didn't even HAVE poer tools before I tried. Plus, I can barely even play guitar. Now, I get to learn on MY guitars.
Personally, I wouldn't have a Gibson Les Paul Modern. I would choose the Epiphone limited edition 1959 Les Paul. It's much better value in my opinion. In this video, both sound good to me👍🏻 Thanks for the video
Yee I am kinda used to fender, my favourite guitarist uses it the most and magnet changer is down there, and more magnets... Now I wanna try out Les Paul but idk if it's a good choice
Ive got a really good Dumble build. My Telecaster is a BEAST thru it. The Cleans in middle position smoke les pauls. It smokes my PRS as well. Single coils are BA imho.
That Strat sounds like it’s really poorly set up with all the fret buzz and choking out. A good Les Paul compared to an unplayable Strat isn’t even a comparison.
Depends on the person playing period. Just hendrix and Clapton for example fender...not to mention Stevie ray...Bb was pretty good with a Gibson and Jimmy page too
I've played both and I can make both sound equally as bad. I own a Gibson and I prefer it because of the neck. Although it's starting to get a little heavy around my neck.
If the guy is a good guitarist, a Fender sounds better - clearer note separation, more articulate. Being 25.5" scale, a Fender has higher string tension and is harder to play and a Fender's single coil pickups are less forgiving the Gibsons with humbuckers
Strat is good for funk and blues, while Les Paul is good for rock, blues, jazz, indie, and even pop. Too many people mistakenly buy a strat for rock, due to its popularity. However, you don't do justice to the strat in the video because you turned the volume all the way down for it but put it way higher for the Les Paul.
It doesn't have anything to do with sound. One is comfortable, like an extension of your body, and the other is immediately foreign. Both can be overcome obviously...
@@gibson60 interesting. I used to play a les Paul and really loved it. Swaped it for a strat and never really got used to it (even though I love how versatile it is). It sounds very good too.

He flubbed the Fender notes!! LOL
Thats your subconscious 😂
@@gibson60 No.. He totally failed when playing the fender
😂😂😂
@@gibson60its okay to make a mistake its not okay to deny it

It would probably be easier to tell if you played it right the whole way through
My thinking exactly.
Better call Saul. He'd know.
Now do it again at matched volumes, both new strings, and actually try on the fender this time ! Les paul does sound good though
Changing string set on Strat? I rather buy a new one it will be easier ha ha
@@gibson60 lmaooo😂

This dude's obviously a Les Paul lover
I think it mostly depends if you play one somewhat correct and the other by slop muting every note
I think it depends on the context. The strat is a whole lot more versatile in my eyes, but a les paul would be better for certain styles of songs.
The right answer is to own both ;)
@@MybeautifulandamazingPrincess that's the goal lol
Wich stylies would be those?
Lol love the Paul, but he meant to not give the strat justice. 😂
Pointless, you may aswell ask what sounds better. A single coil or a Humbucker.
They both have a sound that works great for different songs / genre
Les is more
Les Paul every time, every way.
Not in Gilmours' or Claptons hands man 😉
@@Karmakatt6 or buddy guys, Rory Gallagher etc etc, the list goes on, strat everytime in my humble opinion. Unless your Peter Green.

Lespaul of course 🤘👍👍

Stratocaster for chords, Les Paul for leads.
Gibson Les Saul
Somehow instantly knew from the first chord
Ive got a really good Dumble build. My Telecaster is a BEAST thru it. The Cleans in middle position smoke les pauls. It smokes my PRS as well. Single coils are BA imho.
The second was buzzy and tinny sounding

The les Paul sounds vintage
🔥🤟
Where is the 335 option? xD Both have their places but personally i prefer humbuckers over single coils.
Stratocaster!!!
Les paul 😍😍😍
I like both
Strat is mostly better buy but I would go for lespaul...and would add a single coil and sand down it's neck and it's all done...
Within hearing the first chord I instantly knew the show haha.

🤘🏻For sure.
Both fine... Of course
Les paul
The answer is always Les Paul as most of us will never play like Hendrix or Beck.
False.🐪
@@JD-rv7sf Are you calling bs on my les paul or hendrix.beck remark, cause if its the latter, i want video. if its the former, im still right.

Lespaul
Both.
Don’t ever take sides against the family
Eu considero as duas indispensáveis para a coleção de qualquer guitarrista.
Little Barry should know!
Personally prefer Strats and Maplewood fretboard
Gibson ❤
Fender of course

Klo buat suara kasar jgn di tanya lg udah pasti Gypson???...
Hahaha... ®
You may also have the bridge pickup engaged on the Strat, no low end coming from it.
I’ve got both a personally for me I love my strats tone so much more then my Gibson LP don’t get me wrong I love my Les Paul so much but my strat man!
Gibson
Both
I'm a Les Paul guy......Strats are cool though no disrespect.
Idk they both sound pretty solid

Definitely the Gibson. Hands down 🤷🏼♂️
Les Saul
Both sound great so 🔥and 🤟🏼
Depends on what's being played anyone who says diffrent doesn't know jack about playing guitar.
Fendyyy everytime
Both, depending on the song. Throw in a Telecaster & a hollowbody too & you'll be in pretty good shape
Les Paul really sounds better
The thing hanging on the Strat is called atremolo. Use it.
🤘🏻
The strat
Keep practicing with either
🤘🏻🔥
I'm a fender guy bc I know what it's supposed to sound like but man that les Paul sounds beautiful

Loved the humor.
Gibson les paul will always have more deep rich tone , sustain and a way better crunch!!!!!
They'd both sound better after you practice for a couple of years.
🔥
