Between the Testaments: The Books of "The Apocrypha" and the Making of "the Bible" - June 23, 2024

In a four-week summer series, Adult Education at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis is exploring what happens between the Older Testament and the Newer Testament. This is part one and it focuses on the books of "The Apocrypha" and the making of the Bible.
Protestant, Roman Catholic, and Orthodox Christians do not all read the same Bible. There are ancient writings that some groups include in their Bibles and that other groups exclude from theirs. What are those writings, what do they say, where do they come from, and why do different groups disagree about whether they should be considered “biblical”? How does the history of these books shed light on how “the Bible” came to be?
