To go along with point 1, for beginner pvmers, the ring of fortune also does the 1% bonus for a lot of early-entry bosses, and costs significantly less if you are looking for that bonus for lower tier bosses.
@@InitYeah so back when lotd came out it was around 25m which made it super worth getting especially if you do a bunch of skilling as well. Let's say you afk Arma and with lotd. Seeing as luck rings increase Arma kills by a whopping 1k. It would take nearly roughly 960 kc for it to pay for itself now.
I made a LOTD and GOTE fairly early thanks to the sandy clues this last summer, barely had to grind clues for the remaining forts. Add some good trapper luck for extreme inventions. Felt good.
I would say EOF for lower levels. I got one recently and I'm not making enough money yet to really afford the repairs. I do use it as a switch for specs though

I bought lotd when I first came back but I had also paired it with gote and planned on mostly skilling. Hsr gambling addiction won't allow me to take off the ring now. My precious
An hsr roll (getting to the table) itself is so rare that even if you are getting it for that its not worth. Doing multiple 120s gathering on my main, and my iron with gote and lotd, as well as almost 120 slay on both and assloads of monster grinding on both all done with lotd ive only hit the hsr TABLE 5 times. T3 ring of fortune will work on a bunch of stuff that you use lotd for much cheaper. Lotd becomes much more valuable when you are doing something that isnt affected from rof AND has a droprate of an item that is more common than 1/100 because in essence its changing thendice thats getting rolled even then it needs to be a massive extension of time for it to be worth it.
According to wiki t4 luck accesses the RDT more often and there's a bunch of stuff in there worth 200-1000k. Surely you hit the 'super rare table' more than 5 times? It's only a 4/64 chance, or did you mean you had 5 failed HSR rolls? 96m is getting a bit steep though huh? Was a much easier decision when I built it on release, think it only cost me around 25m T4 luck also effects elite/master clues while T3 doesn't which means more fortunate components. All the small things add up over time but yea if you have to choose between LotD and an upgrade that'll allow you to do a nice profitable boss then you should go for the upgrade and do the boss.
I suppose maybe seismics fall under this catagory. ATM with the prices if you can get seasinger wand/orb, the upgrade kits are like 3m each and the difference is negligible. With the money saved you could get full tectonic, cinderbanes, blast diffusion boots, t90 shield, most ability codexes for mage (except maybe Magma Temp) and best in slot perks. All of which would benefit more than the 1.6 bil a set of seismics cost.
Yeah by the time you get seasinger kiba and makigai (Which is at least 4-6 months of constant ports management) , in 1 month you can get dual seismics (1.2b for the set) or even just the wand doing average difficulty pvm like vindicta/nex, maybe for an iron its decent , but as a main player its worth it jumping from t80 to t90 dmg , especially when you buy greater conc . Orb can be swapped for the cywir one , though.
Luck of the dwarves is really good if u love agilty becouse u get like 2.5x more codex pages runing in anachronia and make faster doublle surge codexes for sale
@@ianhopkins7457 No, its the same for the anachronia agility course. T3 is as good there as T4. Roar of Osseous dus increase the pages you get by 1 every time you get codex pages.
LoTD also has a few unlimited teleports with it as well but at its current price I agree, don't buy it unless you've already best in slot a proper useful ring. I picked mine up long ago when it was far cheaper but even then double digits Mills just for the teleports is arguably useless(largely what mines used for). But as I picked mine up for somewhere around 50m I just look at it as "it will be paid off eventually" which at the time even as a Lowish level character took me just a few days; 12 hour days mind you! If that's not the kinda playtime you can dedicate than you really need to be mindful of what should take priority and not just blindly spend you GP of items you can't fully utilize yet
I bought an armadyl battlestaff for ~300m and replaced my guthix staff in my eof without having the fractured staff of armadyl. 0/10 would not recommend.
Ngl, t92 weapons are noob traps for a lot of people. Get your abilites and your good perks on at least t80 armor before jumping from t90 to t92 weapons.
to profit on lotd you need to get 10b in uniques and that assumes you go through the effort of switching it. i own one for the teleports (clue scrolls) and i use it when im afking monsters for hsr chance.
What kind of formula did you use to get that result. Because it's not even close to accurate. Insinuating that you have to make 100x more than what the item costs to pay it off is stupid. Lmfao
It doesn't degrade and doesn't need to be charged like other items either. If all you used it for was slayer and it got you a 100 mill from the drop table it paid itself off
Meh, you can just switch to lotd and vigor if you need them. Its difrent for the souls and reaper neckles as you lose all stacks from the reaper if you switch.

You can do a lot of bossses with t70 arrmor and weapons with no codexes or switches. I know cuze thats how I learned bosses back in the day. Started at qbd (not even having super anti or overloads or anything, my off hand was an anti fire shield and I was not even lvl 99 ranged/defence) with that and worked my way up in bosses and if I had the money in gear. So totaly no need to up your dps with little tedious mechanics. Hell I learned it on revo++ just going from that to understanding the best dps tresholds and ulti made me so much better at bossing, espachaly when I started using ulti/tresh manualy ( i still dont use basics manualy as I dont feel like doing it). If you just jump in hi lvl bossing you just gonne get rekt due to the lack of experince on how bosses work. Not the lack of switching and stuff. T80 armor, t90 weapon and you can do all the bosses in game even if you don't do switching or have those codexes as long as you have the experince on how bosses work youl be totaly fine... well you do need to learn shield switching for defences, but hey get a defender and then you dont even need to do that, thats how I learned vindicta with a t70 defender. Do you get faster kills if you do the siwthcing and stuff? Yes. Do you need it? No. I have no idee why you cant do the new slayer without vamp. Maybe you dont bring food or somthing? I have no idee. Im still rocking my T80 armor and refuse to use/buy t90 armor as the upkeep is just too much imo. But ofc its better if you want to use it. Better gear is still better dps, cant see how a t70 weapon dus the same or less damige then a T80 its just you can up it even more if you have the expirence and want to do it. I think you are just way too much fixated on max dps then just learning and have fun.
@SuperFutureTrunks1 bro, RS is on a tick and tile system. Pvm capabilities are heavily limited due to that. Switching, buffs, gear, etc is what makes RS Pvm unique. Its what the other guy said; don't do it if you don't like it.
Don't buy dyes until you've purchased all your necessary PvM items, unless youre really into POO DYE, i guess thats okay to buy along the way (maybe POO dye a switch). I Shadow Dyed a ZGS, worst money move I ever made. Shadow ZGS not so good lookin in my opinion. Above all though, invest in rares, while you can, AT LEAST 1 rare that WILL go up no matter what. Most people are saving up for combat gear and never end up buying a rare. This is the mistake I almost made but I decided to buy a Black Santa hat for 3.125b GP... best money move Ive made. Santa hats and H'weens will go up for sure but maybe not the green santa hat.. that one could get rereleased; H'weens for sure though.
i agree with the lotd i sold it off long ago not even good to use as a ring switch just best to use the bestring you have ring of death if your learning a boss, or best in slot ring you own once you've mastered it

How has it helped you all the time? The message pops up on a big drop even if the ring did nothing. So there isn't any way to know if it has helped or not. It is still a good item, and I agree you should get one eventually. Just not super early on as there are much better upgrades. Especially when the Ring of Fortune does the same thing as LOTD except at high end bosses. Which a lower level wont be doing anyway :)
I don't agree with #1. It's not the best PVM item but it certainly is worth the investment the earliest you can do to start using it. The longer you play without T4 luck, the less of a reason to invest in one of those. It also doesn't degrade, which is another benefit of the ring as it will not have additional costs to repair long term. Telling people to buy abilities instead of a ring is a bad side by side compare IMO, it's a ring slot item, not an ability unlock. This would make more sense if you said for #2, since EOF + arma are essentially an ability unlock, so stating cheaper abilities to use instead of buying those 2 items would make more sense than comparing to a ring. I see it like this, if you are a new player and aim to max out, you will be playing alot for a while, using this ring all the time will payback the cost you put in it. Not everyone plays this game beyond max for a long time, so to me, investing in one as fast as possible is the most logical approach. Also these rings will continue to go up, not buying one now, means you might have to pay 150m within a year or so, if they continue to go up. I bought my first ring for like 60m ages ago and recently transformed it into a relic that i use all the time. Of course relic powers can be customized for DPS improvements aswell, i prefer having my luck always on as a passive and have some DPS increase relics on the side to complement my build. Number 2 and 3 are spot on though, specially number 3.
A ring of fortune being t3 luck will provide everything available on skilling bonuses luck wise except ''The increase in chance of upgrading a geode is changed to 2%''. for pvm t3 luck covers all of gwd2 and below, but as you mentioned getting it early I would assume even before this. So t3 luck for pvm is still fine. For slayer, t4 luck has 0 effect. t3 luck is the cap for upto 120 slayer monsters on increased drop rates. For clues, t4 only helps on elites or masters (in which case I assume is more later game when you would start taking clues seriously?). Im not fully clued up on, clues.. lol. This leaves trisk keys and crystal keys etc. t4 does have an effect on these however likely not any real worth while purchase reason on these alone. Finally, the only reason you MAY benefit from getting a t4 luck ring early on is if you pair it with a grace of the elves during skilling specifically for a hsr drop chance. I've just been camping slayer for years. I'm sure if I went for bosses with higher hp I would see the difference. I think the highest I fight are aby lords. And they did is a solid with wildie slayer 💪 I'll buy me a pair and test em.
To add to point 1 about lotd, I’d say even at very end game, the ring is just not worth it. You’re better off with an item that gets you more dps/helps you survive (spiritual prayer/food) - which in turn means more kills = more gp.
Its okay just sell it: think of it this way; it'll make 100 drops into 101 drops. If you sell it for like gconc and do 5% more dammage, you turn 100 drops into 105 drops (with the time dimension)

Lotd and gote were my first two big purchases. Did not regret it.
Tbh if you have that much gp when you are working on lots of skilling it would be very useful.

the upgrade kits are more like 15-20m at the moment. Still, it is worth buying.

I got a LOTD proc at Telos once. Drop was originally uncut dragonstones, but with it on, it gave me an orb :)

I've just been camping slayer for years. I'm sure if I went for bosses with higher hp I would see the difference. I think the highest I fight are aby lords. And they did is a solid with wildie slayer 💪 I'll buy me a pair and test em.

To add to point 1 about lotd, I’d say even at very end game, the ring is just not worth it. You’re better off with an item that gets you more dps/helps you survive (spiritual prayer/food) - which in turn means more kills = more gp.

Its okay just sell it: think of it this way; it'll make 100 drops into 101 drops. If you sell it for like gconc and do 5% more dammage, you turn 100 drops into 105 drops (with the time dimension)
