I've been drinking bourbon for about 30 years, and I would have no problem with anyone giving me a bottle of Wild Turkey 101! Many of the other suggestions would be great also!
I have started bringing bottles to my coworkers overseas. We have such a vast variety here, I try to bring bottles they can’t get there. They love it.
The Woodford Double Oaked is accurate. It was my favorite bourbon before I really got into bourbon. So easy to love
I still like it. I have other bourbons I like more for sure, but I get a taste for it once in a while. I'm glad to keep a bottle in my bar.
Got my father four roses single barrel and a store pick old elk, as he lives far we went to visit already and we were not fans of the four roses but the old elk was interesting for us all, Memories for life! Great video!
I love that you kept to all findable (or mostly anyway - can't find that Origin Series BBC near me at all) bottles.
LOVE both woodfords !!! Can't go wrong with either. Regular or Double.
What an awesome list. I have to say thank you for keeping it budget conscious & available at least in my area. Every bottle would be welcomed by most any bourbon/whiskey fan. Keep up the great work.
Hey David, it was cool bumping into you yesterday. Love the ideas for what to try and seek out. Keep ‘em coming.
Great list. I have had most and I agree with you. Now I won't hesitate when seeing the others.
Great list. I should send it to my family and friends lol. I have drank about a third of these and I love all of them. The ones I haven't had sound like they w9uld be interesting to try
I have been dying to try the whiskey row series! But lately I have been lucky and keep running across buffalo trace allocated products! A store near me has a 3 pack of 375 bottles of the whiskey row series I think I need to just buck up and go grab it!
My family has several veterans that we gifted 2a bourbon to. They loved it. Comes in a pistol case and donates to folds of honor and the Second Amendment foundation. Best gift idea I've had in a while. Everybody was really happy
Dad’s favorite bourbon is eagle rare. Was able to get my hands on a store pick eagle rare for Father’s Day. I’m probably more excited for fathers day then he is to see him open it
David, what are your thoughts on Belle Meade Reserve? That was a great list thanks.
The Lost Monarch is fantastic. I bought 4 bottles because my roommate loves it as well. It's not harsh and has such a good flavor. Must try the cask strength!!!
Nice and timely episode David! Great line up..recently tried that Bardstown and loved it!
All great choices 🥃
There is no Wow Factor like Blanton's. Red seal of Maker's Mark is also another good looking bottle as gift.
I liked 1910 more than I thought I would. I am a huge fan of 1920, but the priced jumped from $50 to $67 in my neck of the woods and it became harder to find. 1910 stayed at $50. So I gave 1910 a shot (the $50 price point is super competitive). I loved it. So dense and flavorful for a lower proof. Now, I keep it in my collection.
1792 small batch, Michter’s! Also great findable options!
Albert,
I think the Michter's may be a good idea. Some experienced drinkers may not buy it, themselves, due to not wanting to spend $40 for 91 proof. And a lot of beginners probably don't want to spend the $40, either. So, with the Michter's as a gift, you're getting both the experienced hobbyist as well as the beginner something he wouldn't normally pick up, himself.
Another idea would be Tincup 10. Here again, it's not cheap at $50 for only 84 proof.
I just bought an Original Grain watch, love it!
Four gate is my jam….. i put 2 kids through law school, they can pop for a 4 ate -lol
Great list. Currently have nearly all of these in my cabinet. The two I am missing are the Green River and the Bardstown Origin White. Been searching for them, but no luck so far.
Oh and the Heaven Hill BiB. Would like to try that.
i need whiskey present ideas for my father in law who is a old school biker/musician, and an idea for my brother in law that loves new technology type stuff. keep in mind they don't know whiskey so just buying them a "fancy" bottle won't matter to them. i need a reason behind the bottles, example i bought mellow corn for my other brother who is from Nebraska and overly loves corn, and i bought castle and key for my other brother in law that likes dungeons and dragons.
Of what you mentioned, the WT 101 is the best overall choice. I don’t think it’s a “newer” bourbon drinker choice. WT 101 has quite a bit if a flavor profile and it so reasonably priced. Next for me would be the WT Rare Breed. This is a fabulous bourbon for $50 (NC). The rest are a pass for me.
Rare breed is $42 here. Good pour for the money for sure
You're lucky, it is great stuff
Man, that is a STEAL!
That's cheap!
RB Rye is better than the Bourbon IMO
Thanks for the support!
I have enjoyed everyone of those except Green River and Heaven Hill.
Dude you nailed it on everyone of those. As someone who is pretty experienced in whiskey I'd be 100% satisfied with any one of those as a gift. In fact the lost monarch and white label Bardstown are my 2 favorites available at the moment. Currently drinking the heaven hill bib that I've seen as high as $100 here in MI but when I wait I get for $49. Solid choices 👍
Love the content especially sense I live in Portsmouth VA
ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO!
U HAVE PROVEN U DONT NEED TO DRINK IN EVERY VIDEO😊
Lost Monarch is awesome and I go thru them pretty quick! Starting to get a little more popular and has creeped up to $42 in my immediate area. I need to stop recommending!! Great list, all good choices that are on my shelves!
Lost monarch so good ❤
Old forester 1920 vs 1924 your thoughts on the price jump 124$?
Heaven hill in MI was 79.99 now 89.99....
Free bourbon is the best bourbon.
I've had all of these except the HH BiB 7 yr old and Bardstown Origin white label. I have all currently in stock except the HH BiB and the Lost Monarch. I don't understand the love for Lost Monarch. It just tastes young, grassy, and a bit sour to me, and low proof. I imagine the HH BiB is good, but I have a hard time paying $60 for a 7 year old 100 proofer (the former HH 6 yr BiB was about a ⅓ of the price. The Bardstown Origin is hard to find. A couple stores had it listed for $45ish, but they sold out almost immediately. One store has it, but for $60. Too high, I think.
Stop giving Jefferson’s Ocean and Willett Pot Stills lol
I just wish I had people that would buy me bottles lol
I sold the hell out of the Lost Monarch,
I want the higher ABV. Disappointed with many of these recipes they should go 100 plus and the plus needs to go up. Makers Woodford Elijah need more 100 plus offers. I drink WR 101 in bourbon and their rye all the time. Have rare breed and trying to get that rye. Currently have Buffalo trace in my glass and also one I would love to see a higher ABV.
I've never seen a Woodford Reserve 101 proof.
4 gate ⬇🔽
Leave all the bottles on the bar when you do reviews.
All great pics and gifts David. If I give you my address will you send me a gift?
Some of us dont have fathers. My dad dropped dead may 22.😭😭😭
😪
I wish my kids would listen to this video. I think this is my first birthday and Father's day that i will not get anything from them.😢😢
