- Vince Neil of Motley Crue performs "Smoking In the Boys Room" live at the Farm Aid concert in Austin, Texas on July 4, 1986. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

It sucks that vince gets so much hate. I think the guy has genuine talent and a really unique voice but he just struggled at the big live concerts. But this video shows that he could sing pretty well when he wasn’t trying to yell over such loud music and audiences like the Mötley concerts in the 80s
My favorite guys in the world - Vince Neil and Jon Bon Jovi in 1986. I was 15 years old then. They still are my favorites. Especially Vince Neil 💕

Mickey Raphael is the guy playing harmonica. He is the guy that actually played harmonica on the Crue's version of "Smoking In The Boys Room" although he is uncredited.
Mickey plays on a ton of Willie's recordings.

I was there. My sister, two brothers and some friends went. We were able too get up close to. Saw this and other performances, but it was so hot. We left early and didn’t go back the next day.

Dude I could not have said it better. He's one if the most powerful vocalist of all time. Sings higher than Freddy Mercury and has more power and range than anyone since Bon Scott.. I mean the dude was gifted. Still is. People hate on the one that's most intimidating when their egos are in competition lol. Vince was a no joke vocalist. One of the best ever.

Vince doesn't sound bad here. Just everything else is terrible. Not enough energy. Walsh looked like he hated doing this and missed the solo. You couldn't hear the crowd repeat the chorus. Disappointing for the talent involved.

Was Vince Neil ever a good singer? He sucks in every clip I find, how did they become so big with zero talent? Must not have had that much competition in the 80s, they would have never made it today and would be completely irrelevant.

No, he’s not a great singer but he’s PERFECT for a band like Motley Crue and that’s OK.
@@chriissyy0265 Axl Rose is not even in the same realm as Vince Neil and is considered one of the greatest front-men and greatest rock vocalists of all time lol. His vocal range is one of the widest/biggest in the industry. He can sustain notes, has a unique, scratchy, aggressive, chainsaw, vocal fry, has power, intensity, overall he just sounds good. Vince sounds flat, out of tune and awful.
Also number of records sold does not equal talent, ability, etc luck, gimmicks, era, timing, media, fashion, notoriety, publicity all pushed their sale numbers up. I will admit musically some of the songs are ok I'm talking about vocals here.
