GCN is quality, September 2019 I was 16 stone, I was reborn back to cycling and introduced to GCN on UA-cam, today, I’m 11 stone, riding up to 10 hours a week and charging towards my first 200km solo ride supported by my family, keep it going guyz and gals, it’s great to view and very inspiring 👊 I forgot to say, I’m 55 years young, you lot make me smile 😃 . . . a lot, a big thumbs up 👍 all round 👍👍👍👍

As a foreigner, I’m always amazed at how little mainstream love the British countryside gets compared with, say, Tuscany or the Champagne region. It’s stunning.
We just don't have that European romance or the cycling history of a Giro or Le Tour. Big part of it I think. For those of us that live here it is amazing.
@@AlessioPunzi Good point but really since 2012 Olympics cycling has become more mainstream here. I think we can't compete with that heritage of Spain, Italy, and France but the more successful British riders become the more it will highlight cycling in Britain.
One of these days I’m going to tour across western Canada with the side intent of meeting up with riding clubs in the communities i travel through. They will be the best guides of their local rides and, more importantly, show off the best bakeries and coffee shops along the way.

I first rode from Bristol to Weymouth when I was a student there around 1980. It was my first "adventure" on my bike when I decided to ride home (Weymouth is my home town). I used to ride with a ruler tied to my handlebars and then the OS maps folded and held on to the ruler with elastic bands. Those were the days!
It's the first thing I've ever seen that I can direct a non rider to and say ..."There .... look .... look ..... loooook....that's what we get up to." What a fantastic encapsulation of the joyous pointlessness of it all. Thank you GCN.

Seriously, just do this for every ride video you do. The best part about GCN is you guys being you. This was hysterically funny, showed your personalities, and showed what riding with friends is like - someone blows up, flats, or has a silly accident, you take the wrong course, there’s all kinds of funny stories and experiences en route, then you end up having to dash madly to make the train/ferry/get home to pick the kids up. Highlights include: Connor being Connor Despite the jokes, a genuine appreciation of the feelings that spring brings Cerne Abbas with Connor being Connor and everyone else being about 14 years old The fish and chips scene - of all the moments, this was my favourite.
oh my god, the most fun part Connor struggling whit the sexual statute explanation. that was the most truly epic struggle I've ever witnessed in recent time a jewellery...
In the former British colony of Colonial Virginia it was 23c yesterday, it'll be 18c tomorrow and 25c on Tuesday. Spring and fall are the best times to ride here. In summer you're looking at 30C with 90% humidity for nearly 3 months straight and in the winter it's about like it is in Britain.
Lovely stuff! You’ve made this West Country boy feel a little home sick. The ride will have been so much nicer than the train trip back. Oh man, that Weymouth to Bristol route feels like it takes forever.
I concure about that first Spring ride. Toward the end of winter, we had a warm day. I cut out of work a little early to go ride. I was able to comfortably wear a summer kit. It was so nice to ride in shorts and nothing on my arms. It was glorious!
