Always wondered why Jim never talked about his brother, and now we know why. Makes a lot of sense. I guess I didn’t realize how many years apart they were. Jim’s had a pretty good career in his own right.

I never compared him to John anyway. I was born the year SNL premiered, and I didn't see any of his movies until I was a teen. I grew up with Jim Belushi's movies. I knew of John, but only as the guy who ODd when I was seven.

Because Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray & Harold Ramis were good friends with John Belushi and he was originally cast in the first Ghostbusters the depicted Slimer as John in Animal Farm lol, there's a few other things secretly dedicated to John in the movie too

It was helpful what he said about their age difference of 5.5 years. That's huge growing up. No way a brother that much older is going to spend time with his kid brother. I was the kid brother with that age difference. All my brother wanted to do around the house was get away from me and be with his buddies. They're 15 and I'm 10. You know they want to talk about sex, girls at school, how far they've ever gone, maybe sneak a smoke or other things to keep hidden from "the snitch." If John had lived longer, the age difference would have meant little and, perhaps, the two would have costarred in a movie.

Jim's a modest and humble man, he's starred along side the biggest names in Hollywood like Arnold Schwarzenegger and had his own hit movies like the Principal, he's had successful television sitcoms and he says he's trying to follow in his brother's footsteps of success, I think he's had tremendous success in his own right, especially a small film called Taking Care of Business with Charles Growden RIP, my favorite film by him and a great picture to watch with the fam.

Jim is one of my all time favorites, I’ve never understood why his movie( with Charles Grodin) Taking Care Of Buisness didn’t become a classic or cult classic. It’s one of my all time favorite comedy movies, I have to rewatch it every year. Both Belushi’s are equal legends in my book and I know it’s taboo to say but I’ve actually always been a bigger fan of Jim/James Belushi. He’s been in so many great films, Curly Sue, Salvador, Real Men, Red Heat, K9 just to name a few. I love both John and Jim 🙏

Taking care of business is one of my all-time favorite movies!! Have you listened to the commentary on the DVD? I just found out it exists and I’m thinking of getting it. Some commentaries are more interesting than others. Lol
Curly Sue ,Mr. Destiny and K9 are other favorites! I just love Jim Belushi!!

@@leveling.up.consistently Yes! As a kid and still, Jim Belushi is one of my all time favorite actors! I just love his humor and personality! I love all of those movies and Mice And Men with Jim and John Ritter! Remember that one? And of course Red Heat and The Principal and so on. Taking Care Of Buisness (it was called Filo Fax in the UK where I grew up strangely!) is my favorite of all of them and one of my absolute all time favorite movies in general that I rewatch all the time. I probably watch it once every couple of months. I got it now on my apple devices and I do have the DVD! As a kid I had recorded it onto a blank VHS tape when it came on cable in the early 90s and that’s how I used to watch it for over 2 decades. But no I’ve never listened to the commentary! Thanks for telling me about it! I only got the DVD finally maybe 3 years ago and it’s still sealed because I usually watch the digital version I have on my apple devices (it sadly doesn’t seem to be available in the Apple Store anymore here in Europe so I feel lucky to have got it when I did! And I always have it downloaded on everything, my iPhone, my iPad and my MacBook. And although it’s not available to buy anymore it seems to be in my iCloud or something thankfully so I can even watch it on the Apple TV but there are no extras but I should check! I’m traveling so I don’t have my dvd copy with me atm). But don’t you agree, Taking Care Of Buisness feels like such a classic perfect movie? I feel like I’m watching a major hit movie. It’s lightning in a bottle. In fact to me there are many hit classics that to me are nowhere near as good as Taking Care Of Buisness!
