I would even say that even IF you don't like talking to people, being in Colorado changes you. My wife isn't the most approachable but she felt more open to talking to people after we left from a visit, she didn't feel pressured, it just felt comfortable.. is what she told me
I really appreciate this video. It's been more helpful then you know as we attempt a move out there with kids this summer after wanting to for many years. ❤
@livinginlongmont we are on the fence. I've visited Colorado a number of times since 1996 when i fell in love with it.. The last being 10 years ago having coffee at Ziggys there in Longmont. ( not sure if it's still there!). Its always felt like home ( and as we headed home we felt like we were going on vacation!) We are considering Castle Rock and Longmont, but have also considered Golden, Colorado Springs and Ft Collins too previously. A must is a good high school for my older sons senior year.
@JeniferRainville these are all great areas! They are all significantly different in terms of community, lifestyle, and cost of living. Shoot me a call or text (720)741-7474 or grab a spot on my calendar for a Zoom. 👉🏼sellinglongmont.com/calendar
@livinginlongmont I will do that. Maybe next week. I am currently packing things up to prepare to put our house on the market in CT. Fyi, we aren't looking to buy right away , we are looking for a house rental for at least a year. I dont want to be misleading and have you give me your time thinking we are looking to buy right away . Other than that I would appreciate feedback on these areas if you don't mind.
@JeniferRainville When people ask me what I do for a living, my response is, “I help people.” I know what it feels like to relocate here, and I am happy to hop on a call and share my knowledge of Colorado. I look forward to connecting with you soon 😎
Are you guys originally from South Dakota then or were you there just briefly? We’re from SD and hoping to move to CO soon :) Also, love hearing your wife’s thoughts and love her coffee mug. Great video!
Thank you for watching the channel!! We are originally from South Dakota. I am from Yankton, and my wife is from Sioux Falls. I still have an active real estate license in SD. We lived in Hawaii for almost 9 years and moved back to the mainland to be closer to grandparents. Winters are significantly better here! Where in SD are you?
I just moved from longmont a year ago. Lives there most of my life after graduation from high school. I am from Lafayette 15 mile south of longmont. My family is generational native to Colorado. The crime is hard, the homeless beggars are sad and the over crowding is so oppressive. Gun shots a plenty. Violence and expensive! Not as expensive as Hawaii but taxes and insurance are going up and up and up. I miss Colorado. Moved to a less expensive state with my grandchildren. So sad
Thanks for stopping by the channel. I can imagine this area has changed significantly over your lifetime. Property tax is assessed to property owners based on the property's value. Taxes are assessed on a two-year cycle. I am fine paying more tax as my property gains value. As far as crime and guns....I have not witnessed any violent crime, nor have I heard any gunshots in 4 years. I would not raise my family here if I felt it was a dangerous place. So far, we are extremely happy here and enjoy the growing city and all that comes with it. I hope you were able to find a place that suits you. Have a great day!
We are moving to longmont October 1st with our 2 dogs! We have American Staffordshire and learning there are tons of restrictions with that breed renting. Looking at private house rentals as well. Any advice would help, we are moving from Milwaukee Wisconsin!
I don't think you can make a fair comparison of Colorado Springs to Nothern Colorado. The culture is definitely different. I can't take the dog for a walk without people saying hi.
@@livinginlongmont I thought I heard you say Colorado, but yea I’m only in Colorado Springs. I’m also new to Colorado Springs too so that is what I observed so far. I wonder why it’s so different. It’s still Colorado. 🤷🏽♀️
@@bb38071 I believe this is due to the size of the population. Colorado Springs has a 2023 population of 491,530. If you take all the towns from Denver to Fort Collins, the total population would still be significantly less than the population of Colorado Springs. The towns are small and, therefore, have tighter-knit communities, which is reflected in how people interact.
This is true now, but it is quickly becoming more diverse as Northern Colorado grows. New restaurants are offering international cuisine and many new cultural events to enjoy.
Love you guys!
Thanks, Amy 🤗
Are you guys church goers? If so where do you attend. Great video!
Yes, we love some Jesus! We go to The Lookout. But have attended several churches over the last 4 years. All of them have been great!

Thank you for watching the Channel and sharing this! People are friendly, adventurous, like locally brewed beer, and the outdoors.

I am glad you are getting value out of the continent!! That makes me happy. We are so glad we made it happen! What area are you moving to?

I would love to get you pointed in the right direction.
Hi , I called Longmont is my home. Beautiful place to live. You and your wife maybe like to play pickleball. Longmont has great pickleball community.
We used to play, but my 3-year-old does not sit still anymore🤣. Now I take him into the mountains to burn that energy off!
Are you the same noah from tuf? And is that woman the gf from the show? Damn noah really proud of you
Yes, it is!! We have been with each other for 18 years now.🫣 Have two beautiful kids and live a fantastic life! I appreciate your support!
Honestly I live in Colorado Springs and No one talks or says hi to me.

Not much diversity I've heard though.
