Love this so much. Once again, your editing is top-notch and your music choices are perfection. The way you explain extremely technical development in such a peaceful and beautiful way is so incredible. It makes me look forward to playing whatever this game is that you're developing. If the same amount of care and art goes into your game as is going into your devlog videos, then I'm really looking forward to it!
Thank you! ☺☺ I try to make it my guideline to put more care into the game than the devlogs, might have overdone it with the devlogs lately though. Even an alpha release of the game is pretty far off right now, but in the meanwhile I'll keep producing these devlogs to entertain and show the development process!
Thank you! Yeah me too, there's still a lot of improvements that I've planned for the outlines, like proper anti-aliasing, but for now it's move than decent! 😊
What a visually stunning video. It's was brilliant to see everything animate along with what you said, it really helped me understand what you did. Can't wait to see how the game with this chap turns out!
Thanks! Yeah I’m a big fan of animations with outlined, simple shaded, foreground objects, with a more detailed background, and that’s the art style I’m aiming for, like so many others!
Thank you for putting references. Ive been modelling for about 7-8 years now and still having trouble, so any way to improve is always taken! I've avoided face modelling for too long now 😅
I absolutely love this video and your process, incredible work!!! The outlines are insanely pretty and using vertex color is incredibly smart! I would even love to see a more step by step guide to vertex colors outlines since they look absolutely stunning!
Ok, watched all. Great work. Will be looking for more. I would also love a breakdown of your video creation process btw since it seems to be pretty custom one. That aside, you have incredible production values (maybe even too much of a good thing, because this must take a significant amount of your time) which leads to one issue: making a cell shader isn't inherently a griping STORY to watch. On the other hand, your journey of trying to make it, with all of it's upsides and downsides might very well be (check Acerola grass video for example). The point is to find the story, the way to tell it in an entertaining way and then do the whole production part. It's really just about basics of storytelling (hero journey, three arc structure, etc).
Thank you! ❤ I do plan on making a video about my video creation process (meta) in the future! Unfortunately, you are correct, the videos take a long time to make, but by this time I've developed a few add-ons that automates a lot, which will hopefully lead to more videos, more often! Thanks for the video tip, will check it out!
dude everything in this video and the video itself is top notch my only critique is to improve on the models face and it seems like a lot of polygons for the model
Looks great! really nice work. Id try to get shadow colors in there as well if possible, so instead of everything having a dark gray shadow, things like skin could get some red into them for example, simulating SSS, or the white shoes could have some slightly blue shadows etc.
Thank you, and thanks for the great feedback! Will have to research what SSS is, and the cel shader has a lot of room for improvements I could implement which could improve the visuals of the shadows, will definitely look into it!
Very good Devlog, thank you so much ! But the graph shaders on Github don't implement the vertex colors, right? Would have been nicer, now I have to learn Roberts Cross Edge Detection to see which nodes to copy...
Amazing video! Do you have your shader files put in a repo or something? I tried to replicate it following your third devlog but I keep getting errors..
How do you just casually create one of the most incredible animation breakdowns of this kind of process I've ever seen? Amazing work.
Haha thank you, but I assure you it was not casually! 😄
It's impressive how you managed to pack so much production value into 7 minutes. Short and entertaining just like I love my devlogs ;)
Thanks Derabo, and I agree! ❤💖

@@RobinSeibold Sounds good! Do you do any freelance?
@@PixelFire Not related to gamedev or video editing yet. Although I'm open to it, I haven't actively pursued it.
Your videos have no business being this good… Absolutely fantastic. 👏
Thank you! I'm making it my business! 😉
I'm once again blown away at the quality of your videos. Amazing work!
You're a star Robin, thank you for the devlog series and for open sourcing the code! 💖 Your shaders are mind blowing!
Hahah thank you, someday maybe!
looks great! love the outline solution you used
Thank you! Yeah me too, there's still a lot of improvements that I've planned for the outlines, like proper anti-aliasing, but for now it's move than decent! 😊
Your devlogs are incredibly inspiring!
Thank you! ~💞
recently found your devlogs and I am in aw. Keep up the great work!
Thanks, and will do! 🥰

Thank you Skeffles ❤ Same here!
The shading is just incredible!
that's triple A animation sir.... almost makes us forget the great quality of the shown work :)
Thank you! ✨❤
It's amazing the amount of effort you put in your devlogs. Keep them coming! Also, congrats on 1k subs!
I feel bad if I upload something I’m not somewhat happy with, high effort til I die! Thank you! 🤗
This is super good, love the toon shading aspect of your game!

This was incredibly put together, can't wait to see what you do next!
Great devlog as always, stoked to see some animations for this character now!
❤️❤️
Yes me too! First I need to properly rig it though!

No problem! Good luck with the face modeling! :D
incredible animation demonstration! great job.

Thank you both for the kind words and the critique! I don't doubt that I'll eventually improve on the model, as my modeling skills improve.

Wow just wow. This looks so good. Nintendo are gonna copy this
Hahah I'm not sure about that, but thank you! :D

Yeah, the vertex colors are not included in the outlines implementation on GitHub.
Any thoughs about unity 2022 release btw? any new feature that will help your game's shaders?
Have not looked into it yet, will hopefully get some time to do it soon!

Thank you! Code is available, with some variation, on GitHub:

super awesome when next video is coming
Soon, hopefully!

dude these animations are a little bit overkill but i enjoy it :D

awesome!
Hi, I think is it fantastic, can u push video of proccess ur the work?(i mean around 30-40 minutes)
Thank you! What do you mean by the second part of that sentence?
