    Really cool how he tells you sizes of needed materials if you want to go to ACE or somewhere else besides just trying to sell their product. I'm just gonna buy this kit. 30 bucks vs a couple thousand for a new diff? Already had 1 diff go out on my X because of the factory part.

    Super easy to install, I purchased my kit directly with ADO. I did not feel like sourcing everything separately. Good price about what you would spend in terms of money, but far less time sourcing. So in my opinion it's cheaper.

      Another mod I did to my 2010 titan, I put two oil catch cans on the hose (one can per side) that goes from the PCV value into the intake. They catch some nasty looking chocolate milk slug from goin back into your fuel injectors. I been emptying mine every 1500ish miles and dumping out about 3 to 4 oz of some nasty stuff.

    I have 37,000 miles on my ‘19 Pro4x, I’ve only went through deep water once and don’t off-road much. I plan on checking this out this weekend. I wish I had known about this sooner because I would’ve replaced it the day after I brought her home.

    I bought the relocation kit and I don’t do any off-roading period. After reading the failures of the stock breathers I didn’t want to take a chance especially on my 22’.

    What is it, what does it do, where is it, what tools do I need, and how do I change it?

    I just did this breather mod to my 2010 nissan titan SE and used a 1/8 BSPT to 1/4 barb fitting since I couldn't find a fitting with a bigger barb size. I hope this helps people looking for the right 1/8 BSPT (British Standard Pipe Thread (28 per inch)) fitting. Don't use 1/8 NPT bc the thread count (27 per inch) and design of the thread is different.

      @@Abortabortgetouuuut yes I believe so. I had to rewatch the video to make sure. He talks about the fitting at 6:38. You have to make sure that its 1/8 BSPT bc its tapered and one thread count different than the 1/8 NPT. I found it on Amazon but that was a year ago.

  • @8683roy

    Here's what I'm very concerned about with the type of kit that just has a filter on the end like what Gorilla off road supplies: Do you remember or do you still have the oem one from the factory that you could check & see if it had a positive seal like a check valve where it would seal out atmospheric air from the rear end until enough pressure builds up to open the valve & release pressure? If so I'm concerned that it may not be desirable to have the differential always open to the atmosphere & allow condensation to settle inside of the diff especially when the humidity is high. Your version is a little different but I believe it's going to allow air to flow freely as well...could you please confirm that for me as well with the one that you sell? That's why I'm wondering if the guy from this video has the right idea. He used a Dorman diff vent on the end behind the tail light that should close when it doesn't need to be open & I would really appreciate your input on it cuz you seam like a really smart guy. I can't tell from your video so can you tell me if the oem one has a little screen that's always open to the atmosphere anyway? Here's the video: ua-cam.com/video/sqCH6K5lsjE/v-deo.html

    Installed the ado diff breather relocate kit yesterday I think it went well beside it took effort to screw the barb in, the bard screwed down pretty much all the way to axel but I noticed tiny bit of brass thread flaked off! Please tell me if I screwed up my axle threads?!

    I don’t off road & I never submerge the rear end in water on my Frontier. I live in the rust belt & have a 2019 model. The vent spring still moves freely up & down & I’m wondering if you think it would be ok to just leave the factory vent in place & just check it & maybe oil it @ each oil change?

    • @hondabro5162
      @hondabro5162 10 місяців тому

      The problem with the rust belt is that it can rust the vent shut and be hard to replace. I'd still relocate it

    Thanks for your video.. Explains the issue and the solution very well. I would like to confirm one thing though. Will the alldogs breather fit directly on the Nissan Armada 2014? So with the barb that you supply, no thread lock or sealer is needed? So many people on the forums state you have to put sealer on the threads? My opinion is the OEM unit doesn't use sealer so?? Is there any kind of maintenance on this filter you supply? Does the membrane last years and years? or needs to be replaced every so often? If the membrane fails?? Just curious about that if you can expand. Thank You.👍😎

    Maybe I just want a full titan suspensions swap.😅 the preventative maintenance 👨🏿‍🔧 comment was 💯 accurate. That I agree with. I mean if you had a new axe and you turn those tires in the mud long enough you could blow an axe seal. I get it set it and for get it.
    Not many people were wrench turners for their first career. 😅 Ty for the video. I heard a puddle made the failure happen and I was triggered by whoever told that person that on UA-cam. If only people made important parts out of magnesium. Lmao

    If choosing your first option to just replace the breather, do you recommend anything like tape on the threads or is that unnecessary? I’ve seen others recommend it. If doing the second option of full relocation, is a clamp not needed for the breather at the end of the tube?

    • @eppyz
      @eppyz 3 роки тому +2

      I asked the same thing. He did mention in the video that the barb he supplies is tapered and creates a seal. So with that said, maybe he answered our question? The OEM part does not use a sealer, it just screws in. I think some folks especially on the forums over think things. If you use sealer and over apply it can fall into the axle or teflon tape can do the same thing. Most companies that sell this kind of part, none of them say to use a sealer.

    • @SeibChris
      @SeibChris 3 роки тому +1

      @@eppyz Proper pipe threads don't require tape to create the seal but you may to use it to prevent galvanic corrosion (when dis-similar metals corrode to each other and effectively become welded together)

      @@eppyz teflon tape is a good idea because of the corrosion factor but you only need one or two wraps. You never need 4-5-6 wraps like people tend to use when they're trying to get a bad joint to seal.
